Can't fully open PE 10

I've just installed PE 10. When I try to open it, I get a "Welcome" page which urges me to log in and has two buttons: Organize and Edit. I've logged in, don't want to Organize, do want to Edit a photo which isn't Organized, just somewhere on my hard drive. Clicking the Edit button does nothing--there's an "activity bar" which stays up a few seconds, then goes away, leaving me at the Welcome page with nothing in the Meun bar except "Adobe Photoshop Elements". Closing the Welcom window closes PE10.
How do I start using PE10? The Help files aren't helping, and since the program isn't fully open, I can't get to any Help menu.

I actually got an answer from Adobe's Chat line. Somehow (maybe because I renamed the PE folder by deleting the word "Adobe"?), the path to the Editor was lost. I'm on a Mac, so Ken's suggestion didn't work for me, but the Chat person (whose name I don't exactly recall) suggested I search for the Editor using Spotlight. Clicking on the Editor in Spotlight opened it after (1) an error message appeared, telling me the path was no longer valid and asking if I wanted to fix it, and (2) I clicked the "fix it" button. After that, the Editor opened normally from the Welcome screen, which it had not done before.
I did save the Editor icon in the dock, replacing the PE icon, so I won't get the Welcome screen again unless I want to.

Yes, it doesn't work. I ran in safe mode. nothing changed. I uninstalled Mozilla firefox with only standard removal, no change. I finally uninstalled Mozilla with complete removal and reinstalled it, then it return to normal. Why does this happen? Thanks for your reply.

No, it's Movie Magic Scheduler. I also have MM Budgeting and it doesn't load either. Both the MBP and MBA are fully up to date and using Lion 10.7.3. The software provider suggested it might be a permissions issue but I checked and repaired all my permissions but that hasn't helped either. Now I'm wondering if it's something to do with the MBA having a flash-based drive. Very frustrating.
I should say I'm downloading the software direct from their website and it's a special Lion-approved version.

How do I secure a PDF that has been signed so that it can't be opened in the new Word

Hoping someone can help. As the title suggests I need some advice in securely locking a PDF after it has been signed.
I know how to secure a PDF document so that it can't be opened in the new version of the Word 2013.
File > properties > Security and pick password protect
Then open Word and down the bottom left hand corner click 'open other documents'
This then attempts to open the PDF and if secure it will fail to open if unsecured it will open making the content fully editable
However when you sign a document you can't secure it by going file > properties > Security and pick password protect.

The content is fully editable - how can I lock this????????????????????????????

Hi Garetch,
You could encrypt the file first, but set the permissions to allow for signing. After that you can sign the encrypted file (you just can't encrypt a signed file). As long as you get the order of operations correct (encrypt first, sign second) you will end up at the same place you are trying to get to.

TS3276 I have snow leopard: my mail changed so I now have to double click to read a message.Want it back so can preview before open.

I want to get mail back like before: I could single click to read before fully opening inbox message. Now have to doubel click. Also the message appears before who it is from. How do I switch columns back whre want them in order of From/message/date received. Also "color" markings changed. It stays bold black until I double click not just single.

Hopefully this helps. And hopefully I haven't misunderstood your question. For the issue of the location of the various headings (From, Subject, Date, etc...) you can simply grab the particular title bar and move them to the location of your choosing.

Quicktime will not fully open!

This apparently just began a few days ago; when I try to open Quicktime the opening dialog box shows up and "loading" shows at the bottom. However, it just STAYS that way; never fully opens! I can still use the application; open video files etc...
Can anyone help with this?

Here's what I discovered: for the past week, during boot-up, I've been getting an unusual dialog box that states something like "cannot,,,,,(don't remember the rest of the statement)", and provides a choice of either "work offline" or "connect". I'd been choosing "work offline" because I didn't know where the dialog box was coming from. This morning I chose "connect". When I called up Quicktime, it enabled quite nicely!
Can you provide any help with why all of a sudden this has been occurring?
As well, what does "Turn off the "Show Content Guide at Launch" in the QuickTime Player preferences. " actually accomplish?

The application "Creative Cloud" can't be opened -1701

Ran into an odd issue, the creative cloud desktop never initialized, it tried to but was never able to connect, (not an internet issue at all, just some kind of installation issue)
So the message "the application "Creative Cloud" can't be opened -1701" when you try to open the application.
Tried to uninstall, "unable to shutdown Creative Cloud Desktop. Quit Creative Cloud desktop and try again"
(the application does not appear to be running because it was never fully installed)
Attempted force quit, application does not appear in menu dialog.
Ran activity monitor cc shows as not responding, successful force quit.
Ran the app again, this is all it does, never loads.
Any thoughts suggestions, I have a hammer, drill and play dough...

Thanks for your reply, I quit the process for the adobe command, then I was able to uninstall, trying a new download now, here is the interesting thing.

Looks like it hung itself, (Mail.app, I think is probably the issue, it suspends programs, so if adobe did not listen for that hook then it would not be able to resume, solution, quit mail.app
Since you have to authorize the installer I would think they could look for mail.app and ask to shut it down.

Recently my itouch will not fully open articles from the yahoo home page. The article starts to open but as I scroll down the page there are blacked out and whited out sections. Te "reader" option opens the full article.

I can look at the yahoo home page and open the links to articles, but the articles do not fully open unless the reader option is available and I use it. So far this has happened only from yahoo or some links emailed to me. I have done a hard reset but not a restore.

Outlook "Manage Rules and Alerts" flashes and wont fully open

one of my custom got a tricky problem. His rules flashes on every PC. have tried change pc, reinstall outlook for several version (2k3,2k10,2k13). For server side, Exchange2010, have tried move user to another mailboxdabase. but nothing worked.

I think it is a server-side problem, until i found OWA works fine. which really drive me crazy.

Final Cut Pro Crashes Before It's Fully Open

I have used Final Cut on this computer for more than a year. Every now and then it would crash- no big.
Now it won't even fully open so I don't know how to fix it.
The only thing I can think of that I may have done was to clean out some folders across my entire comp. Is there something I could have deleted that could cause this? If so- where do I get it back?

Why can't I open emails on my BigContacts CRM records?

I use a web-based CRM system. Last night it suddenly blanked out some images but mor importantly did not allow me access to emails stored on each record.
I am able to access the site fully with Internet Explorer.
