Can't get 5.1 working on Audigy 2

Hi all
I've recently gotten myself an improved Graphics card that allows me to watch hi-def MKV files via Media Player Classic Homecinema. I can't get the surround sound working on them though. I've had a Creative Audigy 2 card for years linked up to an Inspire 6.1 system. I've gotta be honest though, I've always just had the CMSS 3D option activated so, although all the speakers have always worked, it's never been true surround sound. How on earth do I configure everything to get it all working correctly? Is it maybe the Media Player software that's at fault?
Can anyone help...

brianlong,
The link is correct to link you to the main Knowledgebase page. You will need to type in 'SID4858' in the Search by Keyword section. If you are unable to access the link, the Knowledgebase is also located at the 'Support' section at the top of the drop-down menu.
Or type in 'front' as the keyword and look under 'Speaker test only outputs from two front speakers' listing.
