Can't get a 250 gb drive to work as the only drive

Someone please help. I have had a 36 gb raptor working on this system just fine but want to switch to use a 250 gb SATA hard drive instead. I have tried everything i can think of:
K8N-FSR motherboard
bios are up to date 1.40v
tried copying disc to disc via Western Digital utilities
everytime i try to boot it up i get the error loading OS message.
Anyone? I really am out of ideas here.

stick with it mate - you will overcome...
if you want a quicker read than the FAQs on SATAs my story is on this thread and to cut a long story short - if you have any IDEs HD in there and don't want it to be primary you need to unplug during any format or repairs. Plus whilst a SATA will slave and operate as non-active partition fine without RAID even to get a single drive to be active needs RAID enabled and the MSI drivers loaded to windows.
Let us know how you ge on - also if you go into BIOS RAID setup have you made sure you switched drive to the right....
oh and ignore the remarks about pr0n - I have 440GB HD space in my rig!

HT4437 Can't get iTunes and monitor mirroring to work at the same time.

When I turn on my airplay on itunes it turns off the airplay from my monitor. I don't know how I've done it before but I sometimes can't play itunes and have it mirror my screen at the same time so I can use the visualizer. Whenever I turn one on, the other shuts off. I've done it before. Is there a specific sequence you need to run itunes and have the mirroring work too?

Unfortunately, that drive is long gone, probably back to the mfr. Drives are not returned when they are exchanged. You can go by and ask them, but the chances are slim to none.

FWIW, if you purchased the iMac in 2011 and purchased Applecare, you are covered for a total of 3 years. You mentioned yours expired in December 2013 - that cannot be unless you bought yours in 2010. If you bought it in December 2011, you should still be covered until December 2014 - if so, contact Apple/make a Genius Bar appointment quickly so the replacement is covered by the warranty. The hard drive replacement program might have expired, but as long as you're covered by Applecare, a drive replacement is covered.

You also might consider maxing out your RAM since you plan on opening up the machine anyway. (Depends on which model you have, the older CoreDuo can use 2GB max, later Core2Duo models can use either 3GB or 4GB, depending on model.)

Please let me know what exactly are you trying to do using Adobe online service.
You might try accessing the same service for some other PDFs and check.
Have you signed up correctly at "https://cloud.acrobat.com/" using your Adobe ID credentials.
If the same message pops up, then please visit Contact Customer Care as they could let you know if there is any problem with your account.
