Can't get a wireless internet connection with a F@st 3464 modem

I'm having trouble getting access to the internet with my ArchLinux laptop and a F@st 3464 router via wireless (WEP). On the other hand, a winxp laptop and the n900 running maemo 5 have no problem to problem to get an internet connection.
My ArchLinux laptop is configured to connect to my home wireless network:
# /etc/rc.conf - Main Configuration for Arch Linux
wlan_eth1="eth1 essid MyWifi key s:XXXXXXXXXXX"
eth1="dhcp"
INTERFACES=(eth1)
gateway="default gw 192.168.0.1"
ROUTES=(!gateway)
DAEMONS=(slim syslog-ng network ntpdate netfs crond cpufreq ntpd @alsa @hal @laptop-mode)
### END /etc/rc.conf ###
This works fine.
But now in this other place, there's a F@st 3464 modem/router which is giving me headaches:
$ iwlist scanning
lo Interface doesn't support scanning.
eth0 Interface doesn't support scanning.
eth1 Scan completed :

Any suggestions? (I guess that this must be something stupid, but I'm not knowledgeable enough to have a feeling of what's wrong).

Try a complete power cycle, maybe the devices will refresh and 'find' each other
  Power down the PC first then the router and then the modem - wait a minute or so -- then power them back up in reverse order waiting for the correct lights to come in each device before moving on to power up the next device
   I would think this should get you connected again since you had a good connection up to yesterday
   If not check back -- something may have been corrupted and there are other procedures to try if so - myself or some one else will be glad to assist

  • HT5628 I've downloaded bootcamp 5 to run windows 7 but I can't get a wireless internet connection. Does anyone know how to fix this?

    I've downloade bootcamp 5 to run windows 7 but i can't get the wireless internet to work. It does not seem to recognise it. Without the use of the internet the software that i want to install i.e sage instant accounts will be useless. Can anyone help please? i also have a problem of ejecting the cd disc. i press the normal eject button and nothing happens. The only way i could eject the windows 7 disc was to toggle to the mac side of the computer and it would eject from there. Does anyone know how to do this from the windows side?

    You have not installed the Boot Camp drivers.
    Start up in OS X and download the Windows support software from this site > http://support.apple.com/kb/dl1638 Follow the steps of the link except the ones to install Windows.
    Then, start up in Windows and install the Windows support software

    This driver-less Linksys product is often recommended, to convert an older computer with an ethernet port to wireless connectivity.

  • I downloaded the latest upgrade and I still can't get my wireless to connect.  I have restored factory settings.

    I loaded the 8.1.1 upgrade to my iPad 2 and I still can't get the wireless in my home or elsewhere to connect.  I have reset factory settings to no avail.  It doesn't even recognize the network in my house.  Using my Verizon data as the sole source for now, which costs $$$.  The machine has not worked well since 8.0 upgrade.  Any thoughts?

    Try the following:
    1. Turn router off for 30 seconds and on again
    2. Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
    3. Reset iPad; hold the Sleep and Home button down until you see the Apple Logo

  • Wireless internet connection with iBooks not working..

    I have Comcast Internet and a Linksys router. My PC (non-Apple) connects perfectly to the Internet. I have tried over and over to connect 3 different laptops (1 iBook G3, 1 iBook G4 and 1 PowerBook G4) to the Internet and NOTHING works. The laptops can sometimes see our Wireless in the list of networks, but can never connect to it. At one point during an attempt with Linksys to get it working, none of the laptops were successful in establishing a "ping". I have reached the point where Linksys and Comcast both say they cannot help me anymore. Any suggestions on what to do?

    I have Comcast and a Linksys BEFW11S4 V4.0 and it works fine using WPA encryption. Could you tell me the router model you have? Click the link below for the Linksys website.

  • Can't get 8900 WiFi to connect with Netgear WGT624 v3.1

    I can't get past W002 error.  All issues suggested on BB site are okay.
    1. WEP encryption is in use and BB sees the router okay.  The problem is it won't connect to the router.
    2. DHCP is not disabled.
    3. DHCP pool is not  exhausted.
    4. IP addresses are dynamic
    5. MAC filtering is off.
    I've gone thru the setup process a dozen times, changed passwords, etc.  The result is always the same...W002 with no explaination.  It would be nice if BB would be specific about the error and maybe one could resolve it.  Throwing out a collection of "maybes" doesn't seem to help much.
    I've search the net for anything related but can find no similar issues or resolutions.
    If anyone has an idea, I'd appreaciate the help.
    Thx

  • How can i get my Blackberry Internet Connection

    Hi, I need help setting up my Blackberry 9850 to access the internet. I recently bought my phone via ebay and installed a new OS for my service provider in Kenya. The phone was locked to Verizon wireless service and upon unlocking it i still have no idea on what to do. My service provider claims that the phone is branded and that i should contact Verizon to provide me with the designated pin to unlock the BB internet connection. Any help or advice will be much appreciated

    Here's the real problem.
    Many things (in particular data features) on BlackBerry devices are controlled by something called Service Books.
    The Service Books are pushed to the device from the service provider (carrier) once you have the proper BLACKBERRY Data Plan.  A generic smartphone internet plan will not work.
    However, if you are trying to use a Verizon BlackBerry on a service provider that does not support that specific device model number natively, you will need to MANUALLY load the generic Service Books from YOUR service provider.  You will need to search the internet to see if the Service Books are even available (which they most likely are not).
    Otherwise, you need to get a device that is NATIVELY supported by your service provider.
    BlackBerry devices work differently from other smartphones.

  • My iPad keeps loosing the internet connection. All of my other devices work. Last time this happened, comcast charged $49 to fix it. They said that it's somethin that I downloaded. How can I get back my internet connection on my iPad ?

    My iPad keeps loosing the internet connection. Last time this happened comcast charged $49 to fix it. They said that the problem was perhaps caused by something that I down loaded. All my other devices still connected to internet. Tried to reset my settings. Still won't work. Any advice ?

    First, changing your DNS settings could not possibly have any effect on this problem.
    When you see an exclamation point in the Wi-Fi menu, from the menu bar, select
     ▹ System Preferences... ▹ Network
    Click the Assist me button and select Assistant. Follow the prompts. You may get a warning that Wi-Fi is not available, that you're too far from the base station, or that you're using the wrong password.
    Assuming that you've ruled out those possibilities, click the lock icon in the lower left corner of the preference pane and authenticate, if necessary. From the Location menu at the top of the window, select Edit Locations. A sheet will drop down. Click the plus-sign button to create a new location. Give it any name you want. In the new location, set up the Wi-Fi service with the same settings you used before. Click Apply and test.

  • How can i get my 4s to connect with the istore, it just stopped connecting today for some reason

  • How can I make firefox my internet connection with Outlook Express

    My outlook express currently shares my internet connection settings with Internet Explorer. I want it to share with firefox but don't know how to make that happen.

    Hi kentbull, this is a little confusing...
    You and your wife have separate Windows accounts, or do you share a single Windows account and just have separate email accounts?
    Outlook Express -- the stand-alone email program shipped with Windows XP -- doesn't depend on Firefox except if you click a link in a message in OE, it will open in your default browser, which may be Firefox. Really should not be a problem to open/close Outlook Express whether Firefox is open/closed/installed/missing.
    If you have switched to Outlook.com, the latest iteration of Hotmail, the situation may be different. If you are sharing a single Windows account, then you most likely are sharing Firefox and Microsoft probably does not let you be in two accounts at the same time in one Firefox session without logging out of one account and then into the other.

  • How can i get my printer to connect with my computer to print?

    I have a HP photosmart prem-web C309n-s printer. I have two different computers. One is a 4 year old HP laptop, and I just recently purchased an HP touchsmart 320 PC. I installed the printer when I first got this computer, and the printing worked fine from any computer that was in the house. Now, it seems that my printer is not connected with my computer. With my dad's laptop in the house, he had before installed the printer, and when I look up the network on my printer, the only computer that it shows connection with is his. I need to print things for class, and I'm not sure how to make my desktop "visible" to my printer. Please help!!!!

    In the Print dialog box choose "Scale To Fit"

  • Setting up internet connection with a cell phone as modem

    Well, I guess you can figure out what this is all about from the title..
    Basically, I have a cell phone (Nokia N95 8GB) which I currently use for my internet connection on Windows XP, connected via USB cable. The question is how I would go about setting it up with Arch.. I really have no idea where to start. I have browsed the Wiki and been Googling for ages without much luck. I would therefore be very grateful if someone would point me in the right direction.
    My ISP is Telenor, I live in Norway. I already have the details required for a working connection on Windows, would these be very different on Linux? Or, in other words, do I need additional information?
    Do I have to use a "dialer" - like wvdial? If so, where do I get that one without a working internet connection?
    Also, I have Arch installed on my US pen drive. Is there a recommended way to make my network settings portable between multiple computers, can I e.g. have multiple profiles?

    I used to do this with a Nokia N70, and when I plugged in the USB able, the cdc-acm module would autoload and create a /dev/ttyACM0 interface that could be used by ppp. ppp is on the install iso, btw.
    netcfg can handle multiple profiles - I haven't used it with dial-up myself though.

    So if you are ONLY carrying an iPad, you are stuffed! Can anyone help to confirm this?
    thanks very much
    Incorrect. I took a new, never before opened Airport Express to Japan with me. I configured it with the aforementioned Airport  Utility which I had downloaded to my iPad before I left. It took lestt then 5 minutes to set up.
