Can't get added to google HELP please
I have submited my URL to Google both my imac and my forwarding url
I have edited the html and had my .mac address verified
It has been two weeks still no action on Google. Why?
I was not able to get my forwarding url verified (does this matter)
404 error I think
What else should I do. Should I use a different server to host my domain?

Here are some more details on how to get your site listed more/better/faster:
1. Go to http://www.google.com/addurl/?continue=/addurl and submit your URL.
Submit both yourdomain.com (if you have one) and http://web.mac.com/yourusername
FYI, if you use forwarding on yourdomain.com, Google will be happier/more likely to index your mac.com addresses, since that is where your actual pages and content reside. No way around this.
2. Submit your site (either URL) to http://www.iwebusersites.com
I recommend giving Will your mac.com URL - I have found through some personal research that this is THE KEY to getting iWeb/.Mac sites indexed! I have checked google stats on my many sites created in iWeb and hosted on Mac.com. The ones that I submitted as http://web.mac.com/varkgirl are indexed thoroughly, others (for example, one of my recent creations, http://www.affordabledigitalphotography.com) which I gave to Will in the format of mydomain.com instead are NOT indexed!!! (YET)
3. Get other people you know to post links to your site, and you should include your url when you post in bulletin boards/forums, etc (such as this one).
The more places your links are, the more likely Google is to find you.
Again, I believe the Mac.com URL is the way to go. Again, from my Google index stats, pages on my http://www.aardvarkland.com site which I frequently post on this board (specific iWeb tip pages for example) where I (or others) post the exact URL rather than my aardvarkland.com URL are indexed, other pages that have not been posted here are not.
4. Add Meta tags to your pages.

You can also give your pages more descriptive titles by changing what it says between <title> and </title>
5. This is a big one: Check the text on your page - perhaps it is being converted to images.
Make sure you use a web safe font, put text in text boxes, not shape boxes, and don't add effects (shadows, etc) to the text or text boxes. This way Google has something to search on your pages.
6. Create a sitemap and submit it to Google

There are instructions for doing this all over the forum if you do a search for "google sitemap" or something like that.
7. Wait patiently. It takes time :)

Crazy gap I can't get rid of! help - please??
Hi - my first time on here (well, needing to be on here..!).
I'm having a heck of a time. I've just been hand-coding a fairly
simple site - which I've now finally gotten around to updating.
The site is:

I'm trying to set it up as a fixed (un-resizeable) console
window with a flexible content pane. So - I've been using
dreamweaver to set it all up. But the problem is that I've got this
really persistent gap that I can't get rid of. It's spans the left
and top sides. (about 10px of white) - in the version you see if
you visit the URL - I've had to add gap to the bottom and right -
just to not make it look TOO WEIRD. But I'd really really like to
get rid of it.
The basic architecture is the following: Javascript window
containing tables to organize content. Nothing special - just
rollovers. A friend suggested I could add CSS commands to get rid
of it. I've been doing a fair bit of messing around with any and
all CSS parameters I could.... but nothing seems to really make a
difference. I'm thinking it's got something to do with the
javascript window definition for the window on the entry page
(previous page). But I really have no idea. I'm HOPING, PRAYING -
that someone here might have a suggestion for a quick fix - or a
fix of any kind...! I've been struggling with this for WEEKS
now...!

Your PNG files are so huge because you have not properly
exported them from
FW. Just export as JPG images - they'll be fine if you don't
OVER optimize
them, and they'll be MUCH smaller than these are now.

Are you trying to call yourself to test FaceTime? If so, you must have a second E-Mail address registered with your Apple ID. In other words, there must be a different E-Mail address on each unit.

Can not get pass opening screen, help please!!
First off, when I tried to turn of my emac earlier this evening it took a few tries. Then when I went to turn it back on, it got to the opening white screen, with the grey apple in the middle but would not go any further. I tried a few more times, with the same results, white screen, grey apple, no farther.
Any help will be much appreciated, I thank you in advance!!You can also try to Start Up in Safe Mode, with one important warning: once it gets to the gray screen / Apple logo stage, walk away and leave it be for at least a half hour! When a Mac shuts down improperly (power failure, errors on shutdown, multiple force restarts before completing startup), on next start it will attempt to run a faceless variant of the Repair Disk utility in the background. Depending on the size of the hard drive, the amount stored on it, the processor speed, and the amount if any of damage detected, this can take anywhere from 5 minutes to over 30 minutes. If the process is interrupted and the Mac restarted or shut down, then it tries again from the beginning on the next start. This can obviously put you in a vicious loop if you're not aware of what it's trying to do.
Since the Safe Mode disc repair is faceless, you don't get any immediate feedback as to any errors being turned up. It's better to follow cosmichobo's advice and use the OS X Install disc to run Disk Utility from the Installer menu; that will let you see what's going on. Note that if any errors are reported repaired by Disk Utility/Repair Disk, you should immediately run it again --- it's possible for one disc error to mask others.
Another option would be to boot the Mac into single user mode and use the Unix file system check utility fsck (if you're not adverse to using the Unix command line prompt). Refer to Using Disk Utility and fsck for detailed instructions. -

Try this... tap Settings / General / Reset / Reset Network Settings.
Then restart the iPad. Press and hold the Sleep / Wake button until you see the red slider then swipe the slider to power off. Then press and hold the Sleep / Wake button until you see the Apple logo. -

hello ptbruce, you probably only selected to open (not save) the video which will download it into windows temporary folder where it gets deleted again after it has been used. <br>you could try to right-click the entry in the firefox download manager and copy the link of the source file and try if you can download it through this url again. otherwise you'll have to contact the vendor of the video to find a solution...

That one's consistent with disk/file damage. The first thing I'd try with that is running a disk check (chkdsk) over your C drive.
Vista instructions in the following document: Check your hard disk for errors
Select both Automatically fix file system errors and Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors, or use chkdsk /r (depending on which way you decide to go about doing this). You'll almost certainly have to schedule the chkdsk to run on startup. The scan should take quite a while ... if it quits after a few minutes or seconds, something's interfering with the scan.
Does the chkdsk find/repair any damage? If so, can you get an install to go through properly afterwards? -
