Can't get Addictive Drums on Inst. track to record.

ok
I just installed Addictive Drums and am having a hard time getting it to record the audio.
I have AD set up on an instrument track and have my drums all set to go, but when I play the beats in the AD window and hit record in Logic it is not recording the information. Am I doing something wrong?
thanks!

tim, only got demo, atm.
very good processing on board.
psp did this bit.
limited choices, atm, but certainly very good quality.
hope they expand the library, then i'll buy in.
best, for me, are the DW kit pieces (listen to kp's on site.)
i like 'em tight, (still talkin' drum sounds.....i think.)

I can´t get the drum tracks of my Korg M50 to sound in garageband.  Does anyone know how?

If it's actual audio out from the M50, you just need to hook up its audio outs into whatever you're using to get sound into the computer (audio interface, the computer's input jack, whatever it is that you're using), fire up a real audio track, and record.
But if you're having difficult with drum tracks, that's usually this:
Drum tracks on many MIDI devices default to MIDI channel 10. MIDI channel 10 is like the universal MIDI channel for drum tracks. However, GB likes to see MIDI channel 1, regardless of the instrument.
Therefore, if this is a MIDI issue, you'd need to change the MIDI channel on your drum tracks from 10 to 1 to make them GB friendly.

  • How can I get iTunes to display the tracks from a CD in their original (album) order?

To be absolutely honest, I don't really understand what this box is for, so I shall just use it to repeat and expand on my question. (I have already sent a "Feedback" comment on the same topic).
How can I get iTunes to display the tracks from a CD in their original (album) order?
It seems to me that there is something very basic wrong with the way iTunes handles CD Tracks.
Professionally produced CD tracks are seldom if ever in a randomised order. Why then does iTunes seem unable to display the tracks in the order they appear on the original CD source - whether from a personally owned CD or from a download from the iTunes Store?
Some music demands a specific, non-alphabetic sequence in order to make sense. Why does it seem that iTunes only offers Alphabetic, or reverse alphabetic order - both of which make a nonsense of the original, often intended order of tracks?
Why not replace the so-called "cover-art" in the bottom left hand corner if the iTunes window - which, while it may look attractive to some, gives the barest of information concerning the original disc, with a list of the original CD tracks in their original order, so that the user can easily reestablish the order in which they should be played.
As I would expect legibility might be a problem with doing this, why could not the original contents, (in their original order), at least, be displayed when the "cover art" is double clicked-on - the result of which at present gives me an enlarged version of the "Cover Art". While on the subject of the contents of the source disc, what about all the album notes which someone takes trouble to write in order to increase the appreciation of the music on the CD and the listener's general background knowledge of the artists involved. Such notes, it seems to me, have considerable intrinsic value in their own account. I would, I think, normally be prepared to buy such "Sleeve notes" - so long as a "taster" was supplied (as it is for the music) - for something like the cost of a single 'Tune" on iTunes.
These two aspects let Apple iTunes down enormously, in my opinion. I think that by chopping even quite protracted sequences of music up into bits does no one any favours - except perhaps Apple's already quite substantial bank balance. People have to be aware that two and a half, to three and a half minutes is a very short time to develop a piece of worthwhile music, and that there are many, many composers, not all of whom are alive today who have written music that huge masses of mankind value for the enrichment of their lives and the human condition in general.
Please make the viewing of iTunes tracks in their correct order by default possible. By all means have the alphabetical variations available as offering a different approach to the music, but not the sole approach to it - PLEASE.
    Frustratedly yours

PS I work at my old 24" iMac Intel Core 2 machine which runs OS "Tiger" - because it is more beautiful to look at, the screen is more pleasant to work on, and because, in some ways it is more capable (it will run FreeHand MX without needing a "patch"), than my more recent 21.5" which runs "Snow Leopard". (I don't find it that much slower, either).

    Dear Mike
Thanks for the support. I am utterly amazed that after all the hype about how good iTunes is that it cannot play a downloaded CD in the correct order, and that what that order should be is not available directly from within one's own iTunes installation. (I know that one can go back to the iTunes Store to check what the order should be, but having downloaded the tracks surely iTunes is clever enough to retrieve this important information.
My iTunes to differ from yours in that I have also noticed that it seems unable to download copies of my "talking books" in the correct order either. But in my case it downloads them - from a CD - in order, but with the first track downloaded first - so that it appears at the bottom of the column of tracks so that it would get played last! (At least this is, while being inexplicable, a relatively "logical" bit of blundering and because of this is relatively easy to put right!).
I like many genres of music, some of which are not really programmed except perhaps by the artist performing them. I know that Frank Sinatra was very careful to programme his album songs to obtain a particular effect and in relation to the keys of the music. iTunes presumes to know better.
Film scores may be totally randomly put together, in some cases, but in others the order is vital to one's appreciation of the music as a whole and how it relates to the plot of the film.
In symphonic music most works are divided into sections and are conceived by the composer that way. Some individual sections may gain a life of their own if played separately, but they are never complete in the sense that the composer envisaged them without being placed in their proper context.
Opera and probably most choral music too, is similar except that the words may well become meaningless if the order is changed at the whim of a piece of ill-written computer code, while ballet music has to be heard totally within its sequential context or it becomes meaningless.
Finally, I would venture that iTunes, by jumbling up the order of the tracks as recorded on a CD, does an immense disservice, not only to the music on a particular CD, but to music in general, by expressing everything in terms of "Songs" - which it seems to interpret as stand-alone items of between 2 and 4 minutes whatever the genre. Even the way the iTunes publicity speaks of how many "songs" it can store instead of how many minutes or hours of recorded sound. This has to be another brick in the wall of "dumming-down" of people's expectations, and the shortening of their attention spans.
I don't know about anyone else, but I feel betrayed by Apple over this. Perhaps the look, feel and general presentation of an item are not the most desirable features of a consumer product. Maybe it should be judged more on it fitness for the purpose for which it was sold. There is one other possibility - that Apple are trying to redefine "Music" - and that everything that lasts longer than about 3.5 minutes or is in the form of what could for want of a better term be called symphonic in the broadest sense is something else - not "Music" within Apple's new definition, at all!
Well that's off my chest! now I can get down to creating some sort of order in my iTunes Libraries, knowing that I have to reconsult all the sources in order to confirm the source playing order.
Anyway thanks again. At least I know that it is not just me

  • How can I get notified when someone is tracking my iphone

I need to know how to get notified when someone is tracking my iphone?

Have you provided your iCloud ID and password to anyone? You can also go into Settings>Privacy>Location Services>System Services>Status Bar Icon, and that will show the location services icon in the status bar if something is using location services on your device.
However, if you have provided your iCloud ID and password to someone, or you have not acknowledged an invite to Find My Friends, then no one could be tracking you. But if you did provide that information, if someone does log into Find My iPhone, you should get an email at your iCloud ID mail address that someone has logged into Find My iPhone.

  • Can't get stereo on real guitar track

    Hi,
This is driving me nuts! I can't get anything but mono 9from left speaker) when I play my guitar, even though stereo is selected. I am using GB 3.0.4. I have been exchanging files with a friend in another state and he has the same problem with his GB (older version)! I tried different cords and that does not solve the problem. Any ideas?

  • SBLive 24bit-can't get additional software to inst

    hi,
I recently did a fresh install of win xp pro sp2,
and I can not get the extra software to work properly,
EAX controls is mainly what I want.
default scenario is I have no drivers/software installed,
I pop the disc in, and let it work its magic,
I restart, and low and behold, no sound works,
but I can get into the EAX controls and other like applications.
but if I unistall the drivers,
then do a hardware scan from computer management>device manager,
and let windows find the sound card on it's own,
then let windows install the drivers it was from the disc,
THEN my sound will work, but then when I go to EAX,
it says: "the aduio device supported by this application is not detected.
    the App will now close"
it seems to be an "either-or" situation,
either I get the EAX applications to work with no sound,
or I get the sound to work with no EAX controls.
I also tried to download "updated drivers" from the site here,
that didn't work either.. any one got any ideas?
I had this card working on my old installations for a year or more,
but it was a SP install, so that "might" make a difference?
when I do a self diagnostic,
with the sound working and no EAX controls,
it comes back and tells me,
    hardware detection: pass
    wave driver: fail
    midi driver: fail
    mixer driver: fail
    directsound 3d driver: fail
    mixer setting check: fail

well doing that clean up only worked so far,
after doing it twice, when it came down to re-install my software,
I kept noticing that it only gave me options to "Modify" and the required space was 0
and there was no option toget a full install.
The trick was to use the disc to "remove" & uninstall everything,
then when I tried again, I got the proper full installation options.
    now everything works great :-p
not sure what happened on my first install I did :-\
    thanks for your help!

  • Can I get iTunes to file ripped tracks in the exact order they were on the CD?

300 years ago, Bach wrote the Well Tempered Clavier "songs" to be played in a certain order.  The geniuses at Apple offer lots of options for arranging the ripped tracks in every order except "List tracks in the order they were on the CD".  Anyone have any ideas why Apple INSISTS upon destroying this carefully created order?  iTunes CD imports are ripped in sequential order, why can't iTunes simply put them in the library in the order they are ripped?  To omit this simple and obvious ordering is INCREDIBLY STUPID!!  If the option to put CD tracks into the iTunes Library in the order they are ripped exists, but has been hidden by some genius, does anyone know how to find it?  Why are programmers so obsessed with giving us "features" that they completely overlook the simple option of "Do not reorder the tracks at all", just store them in the library?
If iTunes is so stupidly designed that it is impossible to leave the order of tracks in the order they were on the CD ripped, is there any way I can reorder the tracks manually so that I can restore the tracks to the order Bach intended?  The 3 ripped CDs are (no option) stored in individual folders.  Is there a way to put all tracks in a single folder?   Does Apple have any "suggestion box", or "bug reporting" input access?  I wonder if they are following the modern trend (like Google), who allow no user feedback since they KNOW that THEIR geniuses produce only products that are already PERFECT when released.  What colossal arrogance!

"The geniuses at Apple offer lots of options for arranging the ripped tracks in every order except "List tracks in the order they were on the CD".  Anyone have any ideas why Apple INSISTS upon destroying this carefully created order?"
They don't.  By default iTunes will import tracks and allow them to be viewed as albums in the "correct" order, assuming that the metadata elements used to control grouping into albums are correctly set.
"iTunes CD imports are ripped in sequential order, why can't iTunes simply put them in the library in the order they are ripped?"
Because "the order in which they are ripped" is not a well-defined concept.  iTunes groups tracks into albums and orders discs/tracks within albums based on well-defined metadata elements.  The issue that you may seeing is that much of the information that iTunes pulls from Gracenote to supply metadata for imported CDs is inconsistent or just plain wrong.  Once the metadata is correctly specified, tracks will always be ordered correctly in the iTunes library (assuming sorting by album, disc # and track #).

  • Can't get CDDB to work

Hi all. Recei'ved a Zen Xtra 30GB for Christmas yesterday. So far it seems really awesome. The only problem is I can't get Mediasource Organizer to access track and artist info for the CDs I put into my disc dri've. Obviously, it is a big pain to manually enter in artist and track info. I know how to tell the software to "get info"...it just keeps telling me to register for CDDB, again and again and again. I do it, and nothing happens. I click "get info" again and it has me register again. It tells me "you are done" and nothing changes. I have already re-booted and also downloaded various updates for my player and software off of Creative's website. Please help me!!!
    Thanks in advance.

Thanks for referring me to the proper page. I tried this (after a little searching, the directory I have my files in is different than the one listed, for some reason... I couldn't get the third file to work either, for some reason), and it did work! So now I am happily enjoying easy ripping on my Zen Xtra! Thanks a ton!

  • Can't add album art to some tracks

    Using iTunes 7.4.2 (4)
I have some MP3 files that don't have album art. For some of the albums, I've been able to use iTunes to download the art. For others, I've had to manually copy/paste the art in the Artwork field under the Get Info menu item. But, there are some MP3s that I have that don't have album art and iTunes can't find them. I can go under Get Info and paste some art into the Artwork field (I see it in the field) but when I click OK, it doesn't save. I go back into the Get Info and there's nothing there.
How can I get album art for these tracks?
Also, I have a few tracks that have the Artwork tab under Get Info completely grayed out and I can't select it. How can I activate that feature for these tracks?
    Thanks!
    Bronson

I am not sure how much use this will be, but for what its worth here is the way I add artwork. I don't drag and drop. I mainly use a widget Amazon Art, this alows you to access the Amazon websight and find the appropriate album cover then add it to the iTunes library, one of the operating options is selscted tracks, which involves you highlighting the album before you click on set as album artwork, which I find more relyable than currently playing track or album.
Slightly more reliable than the widget is to find art work and then copy it (If you use Amazon, its always worth clicking on show larger image of the album). Then select the entire album, in itunes and then use Command (Ctrl on a PC I suspect) and i. This allows you to paste in album art work for the entire album. It has never failed me in the past. One word of warning, be a little careful in editing double albums or various artist albums as it is easy to combine the two albums or make an entire album by a single artist.
Hope you find his of some help

  • Can't get PreSonus Firebox to work

    I have:
    LE 7.1.1
    Presonus Firebox
In Audio MIDI Setup, I have:
    Default Input: PreSonus
    Default Output: Built-in Audio
    Clock source: Device
In LE Audio Hardware and Drivers, I have:
    Driver: PreSonus Firebox
    I have a Shure SM58 plugged into Mic 1.
I arm the Audio Track, start recording. I get a region with nothing in it -- a flat line.
I cannot hear the piano track already laid down.
when I switch the LE Audio Driver back to Built-in Audio, I can hear the metronome click and piano track. Recording produces a region, but still with a flat line -- no sound at all.
I'm sure this is just my ineptitude, and I appreciate any help you can give.
    Thanks!

    Thank you, Pancenter.
    I've done as you suggested.
    Still no results.
    However:
I decided to try all possible combinations of inputs, thinking that there might be a problem physically with the hardware.
I noticed that every time I plug the mic into a different input, the level meter jumps, just a bit. But that's the only time I get any level at all.
Could it possibly be my mic cable?
I have an iMic cable from Griffin, which has the standard three-pin male plug going into the SM58, but an 1/8-inch jack on the other end. I've put a 1/4-inch adapter on it in order to fit it to the Firebox.
If all I have to do is get a proper cable, then I'll be happy.
This mic + cable + adapter works with the iMic (of course), and I've recorded podcast audio with it via GarageBand. I guess I figured Logic wouldn't have a problem with it, either.
    Perhaps the PreSonus does? shrugs
    Thanks for your help!

  • I can't get any audio recording to work in Logic X.

I got a new Imac, an Apogee duet and Logic X.
I just got Logic X and I really love everything about it accept I can't record any audio recordings on it.
I can use my old Logic and garageband files and play around and mix them with no problem. The midi works fine as well coming trhoug my headphones and monitors.
Somehow I can't get the Audio to be heard or recorded. Which is a real bummer since I got only 6 songs left on my new album and it is an acoustic album. I bought Logic so I could master the first 5 and the record the last 6. But I'm stuck with garageband at the moment. Because that actually can record the audio throug my duett with no problem. Then I open the songs up in Logic and master and mix them..
    Ay ideas?

If you can record and hear audio in Garageband, it must be down to something in Logic - have you checked the Audio tab in Logic's Preferences and selected your Duet as Output and Input device ?

  • Creating new tracks when recording in Cycle (loop) mode

I'm having an issue when recording in cycle mode.. I'm able to record (in seperate tracks) in cycle mode. however I can only play the first take (first track) I recorded, however all the subsequent tracks that were recorded do not play. Even when I try 'soloing' them they still don't play. You can see in the arrange window that audio data was recorded on those tracks however they have a "faded" effect to them. They're also not muted. Am I missing a setting?

The issue you describe when recording in cycle mode was a huge frustration for me until I discovered that I was not aware of a simple principle that made all of the difference... I am wondering if the following explanation may be part of the problem that you are experiencing.
The principle is that muting a region, muting a track, and muting an audio channel are three distinct and separate functions. Until I got my head around that principle, I continued experiencing the same frustration that you are having with recording in cycle mode.
Recording in cycle mode results in muting the regions below the last take at the top. When trying to unmute the "tracks" below the top region to listen to the other takes, hitting the mute button results in ALL of the "tracks" either being muted or unmuted, yet the separate regions below are still muted!
The key is to unmute the REGION that you want to listen to (and not the track or the channel). The way to do this is to hit the escape key to bring up a local tool box menu wherever your cursor is... then click on the mute tool which changes the cursor into a mute tool, then click on whatever regions you want to unmute...
    Hopefully the above will help.
