Can't get any servers

Our ISP was taken over by another group and we've had nothing but problems since. Presently I can get e-mail on this eMac but cannot connect to any websites. I was told by the ISP to take down the firewall, expunge a SurfBooster program they suggested I put in and various other voodoo to no avail. The big but though is that I can get to Google etc. on an iBook so it seems there must be some corrupted material in the eMac. The ISP 'support' contingent tells me that they know little about Apple computers so can't really help me very much. This, needless to say, bodes ill.

In your System Preferences> Network> TCP/IP settings, do you have explicit DNS server IP numbers entered? If so, note them down just in case, then clear the DNS server box and restart. It wouldn't be the first time an ISP takeover changed their DNS server addresses, and if they ever had you enter the DNS IP manually, that'd then break tour web browser but not your e-mail. If the iBook has the DNS field empty (which tells the Mac to query the ISP each session for he DNS numbers), the iBook would work.

Applecare Senior Advisor Txx Bxxx (I have his contact info in an email he just sent) just confirmed with me that the problem people are having with the App Store not loading is an apple issue with there servers, ITS NOT YOUR IPAD so don't go restoring it! It's not happening to everyone however but they are looking into it, its really hit or miss.

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
This works for some users. Not sure why.
Go to Settings>General>Date and Time> Set Automatically>Off. Set the date ahead by about a year.Then see if you can connect to the store.

Yes, I did try to go on my settings>wifi and was waiting for any wifi signals to pick up, but nothing shows up. But on my PC I get a whole list of networks to choose from. Regarding my neighbor, I already have her password that is why I was able to get it on my PC, the problem is that the mini Ipad is not picking any signal neither can it locate me when I go to maps.

I'm sorry you're having issues with your e-mail account on your phone Rusty1112. Let's figure out what's going on. First, please try deleting account/information again and then restart phone. When phone is back on, try adding e-mail account again, and be sure you're entering exactly as you set up, meaning its case-sensitive. If you're still getting same error, please let us know and let us know what e-mail account it is, Yahoo, AOL, MSN, etc.

it recognizes the iPOD but I can't get any of the new songs to import to the iPOD
are you getting an error message, Odessa? if so, what does it say? include error message numbers if you're getting any.
if you're not getting an error message, describe what happens when you try to transfer songs to the ipod as best you can.

You are right, Adobe does not support CS5 because it is no longer sold.
Simply download the trial version of CS5 from this Adobe web site and input your serial number.

Three things come to mind:
1. I think you're implying when you travel away from your home to a more populated area, the cellular coverage improves and your iPhone works well. Is that right?
2. Do you have a case or some other obstruction over or near your iPhone's antenna? Have you tried moving or removing any possible obstructions near the antenna?
3. AT&T has a (free) app in the App Store called "Mark the Spot". You can use this app to report voice and/or data issues to AT&T, as well as keep up on progress they may be making in improving coverage in your area. Your trouble reports are geotagged (if you wish).

Which version of the OS is installed, and which version are you trying to install?
You could try starting up with Startup Manager and see if it will allow you to select the OS X install disc as the startup disk. If so, maybe you can proceed from there. I would recommend repairing the hard drive first since you are evidently having a bit of a problem with it.

What software version do you have on the ipod?

Check System Preferences > Flash Player > Advanced
Click: Delete All under Browsing Data and Settings
Then empty the Safari cache.
From your Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Advanced tab.
Select: Show develop menu in menu bar
Now click Develop > Empty Caches
Quit and relaunch Safari then try Flash on a website for sound.

What email app are you using: ios mail or yahoo mail app? You could try switching your email app.
My yahoo mail app wouldn't accept my password for my id a few days ago. I have not sorted it out yet. Happened after I download a new version of the yahoo app. Waiting for a new version of the app. Reading my mail on my laptop instead.
