Can't Get Anything Going ...
I have posted a little about this before I tried to set it up, and now I'm having even more problems.
I just received my new iBook yesterday. With it, I also got an Express. The sales guy on the phone with Apple told me this was all I would need. He said I would just need that or "any" router. I am using a Flat Panel iMac. There is no AirPort Card in it. I wanted to Network the two together, for one reason to share files, but for the other to use my DSL connection wirelessly around the house. I'm a freelance writer, and need to do a lot of research sometimes when I'm writing.
I found out on here that obviously the Express was not enough, and that I would need an additional wired router. I tried setting this up before I got the laptop yesterday, and couldn't get my iMac to recognize the wired router. It's the D-Link 604. If I connected ethernet from DSL modem to the router to the iMac, it wouldn't recognize it, even when I did AirPort Admin Utility.
I tried putting Express on anyway once I got the laptop, and connecting that in, and still couldn't get it. I tried just connecting from DSL to Express to the laptop, and couldn't get it. I moved the laptop upstairs with the DSL modem and Express, and tried to do a whole separate connection, and still couldn't get it. Last night I was able to connect wired direct from DSL to laptop. I can't get it to do the same thing in a phone line upstairs. And at this point, I have so many different configuations in my Network that I've tried, I can't remember which is which. I've had the laptop both looking for my PPPoE and negotiating with my PPPoE, but it has never connected wirelessly.
So here I am with my iMac, iBook, D-Link wired router and Express. And I can't do the one thing I wanted, which is to connect wirelessly with the iBook. Networking the two computers would be nice, but overall, I want wireless internet.
Here's my questions ... Is it my PPPoE that's not allowing me to connect wirelessly? And, is there a guaranteed set-up out there, that will get me connected wirelessly on my laptop? I'll return the Express and the router, if there is something better I should try.

You will want to connect things like this:
DSL-->router-->AirPort Express
It sounds like your ISP requires PPPoE.
If this is true, enable PPPoE on your router and disable PPPoE on the AirPort Express, iMac, and iBook. The router will handle all the PPPoE.
If not, disable PPPoE on all devices.

I was trying to sync my 120GB iPod Classic earlier, and it said it couldn't sync as the iPod disk could not be "read" or "written to." I now can't get anything onto my iPod, and I was wondering if it is a hard drive problem? Any help appreciated. Thanks.
Did you go into iTunes to change the location of your media files? if not you will need to go into iTunes and click on preference and select the advance tab then click the iTunes Media folder location. Select the location of your on external hard drive.

I cannot activatea second hand iphone 4s as i don't have previous owners itunes ID. I can't get anything on the phone after setting the language as its asking for activation. Please can anyone help ???? Ideally i would like to get it back to factory settings and start afresh but right now i would settle for anything. Should say i only have the phone and charger, no box so no details
Unfortunately, the only one who can help is the previous owner. Otherwise you will not be able to activate and use the phone. Apple can't/won't help you with this either.

Updated to 3.6.15 and now I can't get anything java to run
Ever since I updated to v. 3.6.15 (from 3.6.13, never ud'd to .14) I can't get anything that uses java to load. I just get a white screen and nothing else. This seems to be exactly what happened to people when they ud'd to .14, and the fix is suppose to be .15, but that's what hosed my java!
I have uninstalled and gone back to .13, and I've reinstalled java. I even updated again to .15 and nothing is fixing it.
When I uninstalled I left all my fav's and info in my folder.
My OS is XP home. And I can get java to work via IE.
Please help! I wan't my Firefox back!I have the exact same problem. I updated to 3.6.12 and encountered the "blank page" printing problem. I ended up re installing Firefox 3.0.19. Printing works great. Also Firefox 3.5.15 gave the same blank page printing problem. I also installed "Better privacy" and " Ghostery"at the time of updates. These programs do not run under the 3.0.19 version. Not sure if if they are related to the problem. Good luck and hope a solution to the problem comes about.

Can't get anything at all to open in CS6
I can't get anything at all to open in CS6 (on a Mac OS X 10) and can't create `new. Yesterday it was working perfectly.
Is there any error message??
You can download the updates for ID cs6 from HERE
It can be a simple problem of corrupt preferences which you can eliminate by launching the application while keeping the Shift+Control+Option+Command keys. You will see a dialog box on launch stating do you want to reset the preferences, just go ahead and press yes and then see if you are facing the same problem.

Had to replace our Airport Extreme (802.11n) and now can't get anything but flashing amber light. Have gone the route of turning off modem (overnight), restarting everything this morning and at least when I turned on the laptop (no desktop) the Airport Utility opened automatically. I put in the info for the Airport Extreme that we had previously (password, etc) but it couldn't connect (said error occurred). I would assume this is because of the flashing amber light?
I am having a similar issue. However I've had my airport express for over 3 years. Yesterday we had to reset the router as it wasn't broadcasting.
Today having same issue so we reset the router again. And now still blinking amber. When I go to the Airport Utility I can't even go to the Manual Setup as I'm getting the Error 4. Internet works fine as the router and modem are hooked up to my computer via Ethernet cable.
I did a factory reset and the AE is broadcasting again. but I can't get in to protect the network. And it's still blinking amber.
Any thoughts would be great. -
I am looking for help. I have been trying to get my iPads and I phones to sync a calendar to all the devices. I can't get anything to work. I am completely frustrated. I have been working for hours and getting no where. I have 2 iPads and 2 phones. Can someone please point me in the right direction.
Thank YouClick (or touch) the "Calendars" icon in the upper left corner. You should see something similar to this:
"ICLOUD" should be the only calendar set indicated on each device (otherwise, you'll get double entries). -
My MacBook has crashed...it started with capitals letters sticking and always starting in safe mode and now despite efforts to restore from my Lacie externall drive I can't get anything on screen except a grey "stop" sign

My screen is totally blank except for the screen saver and messages that pop up from Macguard. In trying to remove software, I don't know what I did. I have unplugged my imac because I can't even log out. I can't choose any icons to for software or preferences, anything. How can I get these back so I can delete this garbage on my system? Would I be best off going into the Apple Store?

I updated to IOS 5 tonight on my ipod touch 4th gen and now it won't restore. I can't get it to restore from a backup either. It either says "iTunes could not restore the iPod "____" because the backup session failed or i get error -50. It appears all of my songs and apps are in iTunes, but I guess I don't know where to go from here to get things back to how I had them before. Is there a way to access an early backup to try that? or am I going down the wrong path? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
don't ask me why this worked, but it did for me last night. In iTunes, where your device shows up on the left side, I double clicked on it. It then allows you to change the name like you can for changing file/folder names. I changed 1 letter on the name of the ipod and hit enter. I then right clicked on the new ipod name and chose restore from backup. My choices for backup was the original name of the ipod only and not the name i had just changed it to. I told it to go ahead and backup from the old name figuring I would get the same results, but not the case. It restored it with all app, music and pictures with one exception...all of the settings, email setup and information within the apps was lost. Atleast that an easier fix than starting all over. Hope this will work for you guys too with the same issue.

On my MacBook Pro I finished using a CD and it ejected. Then I have a black screen just a DVD player showing on the bottom of a black screen. I can't do anything with my cursor at all nothing opens up and I don't know how to get that off the screen and start using the computer again – thanks for any help you can give me

I believe I have Apple TV installed, but with no functionality. Was able to select a TV show but with voice from another show--couldn't ever get rid of that voice or do any volume changes. I have sharing set in itunes but can't get any music. Can't access any streaming from laptop, iPad, or desktop--all on same network.
In a roaming network, your "main" router is the device that would require port mapping/forwarding to be configured in order to access the IP camera from the Internet. This router is also the one that would be provide the private IP address for the camera which you will want to be a static one.
So as you described your network, the IP cameras should be getting an IP address or you assigned it a static one and this is the address that you would enter in the Private IP address (or equivalent depending on the router used) field when setting up port mapping.
If you are not able to access this camera from the local network, then this should be troubleshot first. -
Help! Can't get anything to play!
I downloaded iTunes today and then downloaded some podcasts and imported songs from a cd. I can't get any of them to play! When I double click on the title, it pops up in the window above, but will not start. Any suggestions?

TaraI just made a copy of my iTunes Music folder onto my desktop. Than deleted all my songs from my library, but not to the recycle bin. I left them in the folder but out of the library.
Than I re-imported them into my library.
so this guy from my local appleshop told me that ...
it doesn't solve my problem !!!
So, ok, maybe we have to uninstall iTunes and then reinstall it and then importing our copied music file again.

I was trying to update my ipad operating system and I thought it was done. When I disconnected it from my computer the ipad went blank then the apple logo appeared midscreen with an elongated oval across the screen under it. Now nothing on the ipad works. I think it was backed up on my computer but I can't find anything that will allow me to sync the two or regain functionality on my ipad. Any suggestions?

I would put the ipad in recovery mode and redo the update, once that is done you could restore the ipad from your backup and you would not lose any data.
