Can't get apps to work or download new ones!

I go to the ovi store, try to download an app but everytime i do i get "Unable to download "fennec". Application package not found. The weird thing is all the apps Utilities 0.00MB. And I just realised apps like Facebook and amazon have the same problem as well. I checked for any updates and it says there is none. So oes anyone have an idea of what I'm meant to be doing? Thanks for the help!

the ovi item you are mentioning is just utilities and not "fennec", that you have to download from mozilla...if you don't have the core app the utils will not load since it has a dependency on the core app.
same goes for other apps some of those are just icons for the installer and not the app. if you click on amazon icon does it lauch or start application manager?

If it's not an Airprint enabled printer, you can not natively through your iPad. BUT, there are apps you can purchase in the App Store, like Print Central ($9), which is what I use myself and works well for my needs.

Can't get Airprint to work on my new Brother HL-3170CDW. I have an iPhone and iPad and nThe printer documentation says it's Airprint ready, but I don't know how to get it working. All 3 MacBooks in our home can connect to it via the network, so I know the printer is set up correctly for that purpose.
Any ideas?

Firefox is highly customizable and you may be able to customize it to meet your needs.
If you do not like the new UI, you can make Firefox 4 look and behave more like Firefox 3.6, for details see http://www.computertechtips.net/64/make-firefox-4-look-like-ff-3-6
To downgrade to Firefox 3.6 first uninstall Firefox 4, but do not select the option to "Remove my Firefox personal data". If you select that option it will delete your bookmarks, passwords and other user data.
You can then install the latest version of Firefox 3.6 available from http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html - it will automatically use your current bookmarks, passwords etc.
To avoid possible problems with downgrading, I recommend going to your profile folder and deleting the following files if they exist - extensions.cache, extensions.rdf, extensions.ini, extensions.sqlite and localstore.rdf. Deleting these files will force Firefox to rebuild the list of installed extensions, checking their compatibility, and reset toolbar customizations.

Can't get apps to work

In the last week I have noticed that I can't get some apps to work. Like right move, iplayer, my supermarket, shopitize.
I have tried updating the iPad, reinstalling the apps. Rebooting the iPad. I can't think of what else to do as I don't know if is a problem with the iPad or the apps themselves.

How can I get Live TV working on the new Android app

I have FIOS for internet and TV but do not use the Verizon router for WIFI (it is too slow and does not cover enough of my house). I just downloaded the new Android version of the My FIOS app with Live TV, but it will not let me view TV and tells me that I have to be connected to the FIOS router. The router I use for WIFI is connected to the FIOS router via ethernet. The app has asked for and received my Verizon credentials. So why won;t the app let me watch Live TV?

I have the same setup and the same issue.
Looks to me like the app isn't smart enough to make the double hop to the VZ router.
I changed my connection to connect directly to the VZ router and at least it now attempts to connect but still cannot get it to work - probably the now the signal is so bad that it never makes a connection.

Can't get apps to work after ios5 update

After doing the update for ios5, i noticed i can't open apps i have installed on my ipad2. the apps are still there but when i click on facebook app for example the fb icon shows it being clicked on but nothing comes up. this is the same for all other apps i have installed before the update. safari works just fine but not the apps. any ideas what is causing this or how to fix it?

Users have reported this problem after previous major updates (IOS4).
Q: Did the update complete successfully? You would have been asked to set Location, iCloud, etc.
is it ALL apps, or just 3rd party apps? Safari is working.
Try a resync with iTunes.
Try reinstalling one 3rd party app. In the past, just reinstalling one seemed to fire up the others for users who had this problem.

My first apple account was email was hacked. I needed to create a new one. That was fine I did. I synch it. All music is fine, settings shows new account. There is no way to consolidate iTunes accounts.
Setting up an iPhone has never required creation of a new Apple ID.
You've apparently purchased content with both Apple ID's. Sign into the device with the correct Apple ID and sync the content.

I can not get wifi to work after installing new hard drive...

I have a a505-s6965 laptop running vista and I had to replace the hard drive. After doing so and running all of the recovery discs I keep getting an error message about my wifi driver and card reader and also a couple others. Now my computer works but I can not get online even if I do not use wifi. PLEASE HELP!!!

Can't get iCloud to work properly from new MBP.

I recently bought a new MBP and gave my old one to my wife. I deleted the calendar and contact info from my old MBP since she didn't need it. Only I didn't realize that it would also delete all the information from my new MBP that I had initialized from a Time Machine back-up.
But now, I can't get thinks back to normal. I had recently upgraded my old MBP to Mavericks, so I posted my questions there on the assumption that the problem was with Mavericks. I now think the problem is with iCloud, so I'm posting here as well.
Here's my tale of woe ...
First, I tried restoring my back-ups, but the restored info would literally disappear with 2-3 seconds of being reloaded. I sat there and watched my contacts appear, then disappear. Three times. The Mavericks folks made some suggestions about deleting files from the Application Support Folder. No help. Same results. Watched my contacts load and then disappear 3 more times.
So I decided to start more-or-less from scratch. I deleted my iCloud account from both my MBP and my iPad. I then reloaded my calendar and my contacts from the back-ups on my MBP. Everything fine so far. All calendar items are there. All contacts are there.
I re-added the iCloud account on my MBP. Still okay. Contacts and calendar info still there. However, System Preferences would not allow me to check the box next to "calendar." It said "setting up" then stopped and unchecked the Calendar box. I am also unable to enable the iCloud account within Calendar preferences.
I re-added my account on my iPad. No calendar info, but that didn't surprise me because the calendar wouldn't connect from my Mac.
But the Contacts on the iPad included ONLY those contacts that I had added from the previous recipients window after my last back-up. None of the contacts that had come from my previous back-up were there even though they were on my MBP. So I tried unchecking the box in System Preferences. All of my contacts disappeared from my MBP. None disappeared from my iPad.
So at this point, my iPad becomes a games machine. I can't get my contacts to it. I can't my calendar to it. Email is no good without my contacts.

The iCloud Calendar and Time Machine don't play nice together. If you accidentally delete your calendars, they are deleted on iCloud: you restore the cached versions from TM, and iCloud promptly brings them up to date by deleting them again.
However it is possible to restore from Time Machine (or another backup system if it's included your calendars) by following the following steps:
Turn off your internet connection. Make sure that it really is completely off.
Restore from Time Machine or your backup. This should restore your calendars to list under your iCloud username.
Now carry out this process with each calendar:
Select a calendar listed under your iCloud login name.
From the File menu choose Export...>Export. An .ics file will be saved at your designated destination.
Create a new calendar with the same name as the one you've just exported from, choosing 'On My Mac'.
From the File menu choose Import... Select the .ics file and choose to import it into the calendar you just created (make sure you don't import it into the iCloud version).
Now your calendars are listed under 'On My Mac' as well as under your iCloud login name.
Reconnect to the internet. Your iCloud calendars will disappear as before. Now carry out the following process with each of the 'On My Mac' calendars:
Select your 'On My Mac' calendar. From the File menu choose 'Export...' then 'Export...'; from the sub-menu. This will create an .ics file at the location chosen in the Export dialog.
From the File menu choose 'New Calendar' then your iCloud login name in the sub menu.
A new calendar called 'Untitled' will appear in your sidebar under your iCloud login name. Change its name to that of the calendar you exported.
From the File menu choose 'Import...' then 'Import...' from the sub-menu. A navigation pane will open: navigate to and choose your exported .ics file.
iCal will ask you where to import this to. Click the drop-down menu and select the iCloud version of your calendar (make sure not to choose the 'On My Mac' version). Import.
Your calendar contents will appear in the iCloud version of the calendar but this may take some time. You need to leave iCal running until the rotating icon at the top of the sidebar disappears.
You can now delete the 'On My Mac' version of the calendar (control-click it in the sidebar list and choose 'Delete').
You should back up your calendars periodically by exporting the .ics files as in step 1 above and keeping them safely.

Can't get menu to work in brand new ipod classic.

I cannot get the menu to say anything other than "video" at the top. I can't get to where it says "music" on the menu. I've reset 3 or 4 times, but it doesn't help. I had it at first, but can't get it back. Help!

Toggle your Hold switch at the top, make sure you cant see any RED, when you do the steps below
Press Menu and Center Button simultaneously for about 10 secs till the Apple logo comes ON, then let go.
Select the preferred language
it will bring you to the Menu screen.
Go down and select music.

Can I Move apps from my acc to new one

I have an ipad 1 and have just won a new ipad. I was going to give my old ipad to my daughter but wondered if I can transfer her apps, movies, books etc to another account so that she cannot read, delete, move any of my stuff that may download to the old ipad?
Or can I just create another id for future use and then on itunes turn off what I dont want downloaded from my account?

Apps cannot be transfered between accounts. As for simly continuing to use the same AppleID on both, you can turn automatic updates off for the iPad. And I suspect you would want to restrict the ability to make app and in app purchases on it as well.

Since the application was installed with Yosemite, you can reinstall it by reinstalling Yosemite:

To reinstall an app that came with OS X (such as Mail or Calendar), reinstall OS X.
Reinstalling OS X doesn’t erase your information.

I've downloaded purchases from my ipad to itunes yet when I click on them nothing happens--they can't be used. Please help.

You put them on your computer as a backup, as you should do with everything on your idevice.
itunes sells apps ONLY for ipod/ipad/iphone.
There are no Apps at all in the app store for your computer ( af any kind).
