Can't get Audigy 4 to record audio with Cubase SX

I'm trying to record at home with a mic, Audigy 4 (non-pro) and Cubase 3 SX. Mic is pluged without preamp or mixer directly in the mic (not LineIn).
I have choosen the Creative ASIO Driver in Cubase.
My 2 Problems are:
1. I always here the mic directly in the speakers (direct passthough / monitoring). When I mute the mic in the xp mixer (playback setting) then I don't get any audio recorded. But I want to have the "wet" signal from Cubase in my speakers/headphones (e.g. with reverb, chorus, eq etc.). Usinge the cubase "direct Monitoring" asio checkbox or the monitoring button for the track doesn't change anything.
2. I always get the all other playing tracks on the recording tracks, seems like I always record a kind of what-you-here channel.
Is there anyone using a Audigy 4 with Cubase 3 and direct mic-input without mixer/preamp successfully? And if yes, would you please post or send me your configuration
a. from the xp controlpannel (playing and recording settings),
b. from the creative suround mixer,
c. from cubase ASIO setup and
d. the choosen in and out connections in cubase (where you connect the in and out ASIO channels...)
I'm getting mad at this ...

Sorry that still doesn't work.
I don't have a Mic L/R VST-Input (only 14 items, no #15 and #16 (as on your other post: "ASIO inputs 15 and 16 come from the Sound Blaster Audigy 2 eX Drive Line In 1/Mic In stereo input;"), see left panel on the pic, german names ...). There IS a difference between Audigy 2 ZX and Audigy 4? None of the 14 ADIO Inputs seems to work (no signal)
And about the small speaker icon (Monitor) in Cubase: doesn't work! If I mute the Mic in the XP "playing" mixer I don't get any mic input at all. But shouldn't all mixer settings be ignored by the ASIO driver? I'm still confused about that - and still got no solution.
Any more ideas? Someone ever tried a similar configuration or could verify / test this for me?

Can´t get logic to record audio

ok, i´m feelin´really stupid here - but it´s true - I can´t get logic to record audio in some songs. the only thing - as far as I´m concerned - that is changed while swaping between songs are the song settings. that´s where I´ve been looking for something that´s been disabling the rec function.
I was working on a song right now which I was recording vocals on a couple of days ago, and now I was going to record some synthstrings (record to audio) and I just can´t make it happen. record path e t c seems to be ok.
please somebody...HELP!!

thanks for takin´time... I solved the problem last night and then forgotten to post what i´m doing now. but I think it´s a bug... (and it´s ok if u don´t believe me...) it´s a bit spooky...
I´ve changed the track icons to that cute little tapedeck (for the audio tracks only - buses, inputs and audio instruments have other symbols). looks nice in the arrange window. (gives me the "feel" of recording...) And the song i was working with has been like this for a couple of months. And I´ve been doing a lot of recording until yesterday when it was not possible...
For some reason i started to fiddle with the track symbol - changing it - and, yes, logic was able to record. At this time I didn´t believe that this was the reason so I changed back to the little tape deck, and yes, recording was not possible. Then I opened an autoload which had the same syndrom (at that time I didn´t bother - I just created another setup), and first trying to record - not possible - then changing the tape deck symbol (yes I used it here too - I really liked it...) and recordning was possible. It seems that if all of logics 64 audiotracks has that (from now on I will call it "ugly") tape deck symbol, at least I can´t record audio (logic won´t go in to record - no matter what - pushing buttons clicking mouse e t c) recording midi was never affected. And the "spooky" thing is that I´ve been recording (with no problems) with all of the 64 audiotracks labelled with that little "ugly" tape deck - until yesterday...
This might just b a wierd thing - but if anyone elese has a problem like this, it might help. I´m not shure weather it´s the tape deck symbol itself that causes the problem, but getting rid of it solves the same problem.
(I´m using a RME multiface and I´m not 100% shure it could have SOMETHING to do with this)

Thanks, that's what I had thought. Our domain.com zone is sourced internally and replicated to our advertisers for external users, so there's no way to change the result for internal vs external users.
This is a rudimentary question that I should already know but I sort of inherited this after it was built: Can I have users sign in with their email address ([email protected]) but under the hood, their SIP address is [email protected]? This would let users
sign in with an address they expect, but it would take advantage of the the local lyncdiscoverinternal record.

Will not work. To my knowledge, dual converting like that isn't supported. The Mac must detect the connected video output device and that sort of info cannot be done across an analog component uni-directional connection.

You can import the track into GarageBand and then split the tracks there. Once that it is done you can highlight the ruler section and then share the song to iTunes to get them separated out.

Trouble recording audio in Cubase SX with X-Fi Platinum

Hi everyone,
I'm trying to record audio in Cubase SX with my X-Fi Platinum. I have:
- Selected Creative ASIO for the ASIO driver
- Ensured that the VST inputs are set to the correct X-Fi input
- Ensured that the VST outputs are set to the X-Fi Front Left and Right outputs
- Switched on direct monitoring in the mixer, and I can hear the audio input before trying to record anything.
- Enabled recording for the audio track in my project
- There are no inserts, sends or EQ specified on the audio track - it's all clean.
My problem is this: When I hit the master record, the recording bar on the audio track doesn't move. On the occasions where the recording bar does move (I'm not sure how I managed to get it moving), no sound is being recorded - even though I can hear via direct monitoring the sound that I am trying to record.
The other symptom that I am getting is that the VU meter for the audio track in the mixer is not displaying or moving prior to recording or during recording - even though I can still hear the audio via the direct monitoring.
I'm new to Cubase SX, and I'm probably missing something simple. Can anyone help me?

You brought up quite old thread so maybe no vista yet at that time.
Sometimes, setting latency too low may prevent recording/playing ... or setting the monitoring
false (there are hardware monitoring and software monitoring which maybe can't be used at once).
SX has also a settings option named as "Lower Latency" which sometimes is best to leave disabled.

I think you'll have to do it via Java Sound API, because JavaFX itself doesn't have capability of recording audio. Maybe in version 1.3, but I have no access to it.

I have to fetch the record_type from a lookup where I can have any of the record type, sometime USES, HOW TO USE, SIDE EFFECTS and sometimes some other set of record types
In my report I have to get these record typpes as field name dynamically whichever is available in that lookup and record values against them.

The only way I know of is to copy the entire content of your chat window (while it is still active) and then paste it into a text document (or, if it is short enough to fit the window without scrolling, take a screenshot). Once you terminate the chat, the record is gone (as far as I know).

Notes App That Can Import Word Docs and Record Audio

I have Pages now which you can import Word docs to.
I have another app that can record audio and take notes, but you can't import documents.
Is there an app that does both? Import Word docs that I can edit and then also record audio at the same time?

Yes you can use Pages for Word documents and transfer the files as Word documents to iTunes and then to your desktop via file sharing. I use it. Frankly I haven't paid attention to any of the spell check features at all so I can't say for sure that it will work the way that you want it to work.
From everything that I have read about Pages v Documents to Go, I was under the impression that Docs to Go was the much better choice for all around compatibility with Word files. Actually, Pages has some issues going from Pages on the iPad to Pages on the Mac in terms of compatibility and formatting.

Can't get rid of original Audio

I'm overwriting a clip on the timeline with a clip from the events, but I can't get rid of the audio from the timeline clip. What's up? Even when I cut the clip I want to replace, its audio remains.

I did not separate it.
What do you mean by "edit style"? Can't seem to find a way to adjust that.
It seems that whatever I do, the original audio stays. I tried to overwrite, and I tried to completely cut out the original audio... I'm trying to cut in a close-up over a medium shot and want to use the dialogue from the close-up.

I want to Podcast using GB but stumbled when finding out that I can only record interviews using iChat. is there another way that I can record audio with GB. I know about AudioHijack Pro which seems like a good app. is that my only option?

You might play with SoundFlower, or Jack OS which both claim to be able to route audio between apps, but there is no built-in interface between GB and anything other than iChat.

2/applications folder? have a look at tutorial_list and
