Can't get authenticated using an IMAP account in Macmail
I have been experiencing issues trying to connect a simple IMAP account into Macmail. This is only happening on about 10-15 percent of all Mac desktops and Macbooks that we have in the field. I believe that iCloud is involved with most of the systems that have the issue. When attempting to authenticate, it will not authenticate to the SMTP server using the exact same password as the inbound (that doesn't connect most of the time) and yet it fails. I can go out to a webmail client and login to this account without issue using the same password. I have even downloaded Mozilla's Thunderbird, and it sets up on the same system that is failing in Macmail, without incident.
Does anyone know what is causing this issue?
Apparently TalkTalk mail will work with Firefox 4 and Firefox 5 ''if'' you set the browser to ''lie'' to TalkTalk mail by saying that you are still using version 3.6.

Note: when you open about:config the first time, it will display a warning message that you should be careful with the changes you make. That's definitely good to bear in mind.

I have had the same problem as yours on my Ipad after upgraded Procreate 2.01. My iOS is 7.04. I tried to find solution from internet for weeks. Fortunately, the problem was resolved a few minutes ago. It is very simple,
1. Lunch outlook.com to confirm you can access hotmail mailbox. It means your account is Ok.
2. Go to setting>Mail,Contacts,Calendars.Delete your hotmail account from your device.(my device is Ipad)
3. Turn off your device, then turn on again.
4. Go to setting>Mail,Contacts,Calendars and create your hotmail account by tap outlook.com. Be sure the incoming mail server is pop3.live.com.
5. Waiting for validation.

How can I get it down to one account and be able to sync all of my iTunes purchases (apps, music, etc.) on my iPad and iPhone?

Can't get in to my iTunes account cos it's asking for sercuraty questions and I don't have them and I've try'd what there direct iyu to can one help cheers.
If you mean that you don't have a rescue email address set up on your account as described on the page that you posted from (you won't be able to add one until you can answer 2 of your questions) then you will need to contact iTunes Support / Apple to get the questions reset.

Have you chacked with your carrier. The message you are getting seems to relate to a carrier issue and not something to do with the phone itself

I have more than one iCloud account.... Once an email alias is deleted from one account.... can it then be used by another account? If so, how long after it's deletion before it's made available?
Aliases remain tied forever to the account which created them. They cannot be moved to another account, converted to a full account, nor reinstated after being deleted.

On the other account, control-click its Dock icon and choose Show in Finder. If it's located in a place other than the Applications folder at the top level of the drive, move it there. If it is, go back into yours, open the Applications folder, and drag it to the Dock.

I just updated my iPhone 4S to iOS7 and it wants me to connect to iTunes before I can do anything. But my computer is broken and I'm borrowing someone else's. Will it try to sync with their computer? Can I get around using iTunes somehow? I'm new to this; any help would be appreciated!
If the device is indicating to connect to iTunes, then it is in recovery mode. You will need the computer and iTunes to recover it. You can fix the iTunes to not sync to your device, but just let it recover the phone. I hope you would have a backup of your data in iCloud, since it is no longer available to you on the phone.

Can I copy emails between an IMAP account and an Exchange account, via Apple Mail client?
If I have an IMAP account configured in my Apple Mail client profile, and then I also add an Exchange 2010 Server account to that same profile, can I use the Apple Mail client to copy folders and messages from my IMAP account, into my mail store on the Exchange Server account?
Pop mail accounts must be set up to 'leave messages on the server'.
check this before using.
* Tools > Account Settings > Server Settings for the mail account
or
* menu icon > Options > Account Settings > Server Settings for the mail account
select: 'leave messages on the server'
optional: select: 'for at most xx days' this will delete anything older than specified number of days select 'Until I delete them' when you delete an email it will be deleted off the server.
click on Ok to save settings.
Pop mail accounts only look at Inbox and download whatever has not been previously downloaded regardless of whether it has been read or not. They cannot access nor download from any other folder on the server.
If you wanted to download emails in other fodlers, you would have to move emails into the Inbox in order to download them and this may not be very practical in your situation.
What you can do is synchronize your IMAP folders to get a copy downloaded to your IMAP mail account.
Then go into 'offline' mode to stop any further synchronizing as synchronized folders do get updated.
MozBackup tool could now be used to backup the Profile as synchronising created mbox files which contain emails.
You can also do the following to get a copy outside of the IMAP mail account:
Create the same folders in 'Local Folders'.
Then right click on email and 'copy to' and select Local Folders and the folder you require.
Putting a copy in Local Folders means these emails are also on your computer and they are not influenced by anything you do in the IMAP folders.
You would need to backup emails in these folders.

How can I make Mail use different IMAP folders?
As I was hoping to switch to Apple Mail from Thunderbird I have both live on my machine. The core principle behind IMAP is that you can use a central resource to synchronise multiple devices, but I have just discovered where my missing email went: Apple seems use a different folder to store sent messages than Thunderbird (or MS software, or practically any other bit of kit I have been using with IMAP). Brilliant idea - this more or less nukes any corporate deployment without a lot of prior planning..
Given the volumes involved it would be *massively* simpler if I could just tell Apple Mail where to store its "Sent" (and Draft) messages, but it appears that this is not possible so I'll have to do some butchering in Thunderbird to get this straight. Anyone with a different opinion?You would take the Sent folder under an IMAP account, highlight it, and under Mailboxes in the menu, choose Use This Mailbox For, and select Sent. That will map the sent messages from the IMAP account to the main Sent folder. You do this for the other mailboxes like Trash, Drafts or Junk also if you wish to map them to the main mailboxes.
Note that doing this will move any local mailboxes created for that account out of the main and they will be replaced by the IMAP mailboxes.

Running mountain lion but no quicktime
