Can't get AVPlayerHD to play on TV w/ Composite Cables

I've got several iPads including iPad Air's and iPad 2's.
I have been able to get the iPad's with non-lightening ports in the past, and can still.  For those with lightening ports I use a 30-pin to lightening adapter, which I then connect to the composite cables that connect to the TV.  These are the same cables I've used in the past to watch videos on the TV.
I have contacted the support folks for AVPLayerHD and in a bunch of broken English was directed to the support part of their website that deals strictly with using WiFi and Apple TV.
On the iPad Air that I'm watching right now, the icon that would be used to project on to an Apple TV isn't even active...dithered completely.
Does anyone have any suggestions or experience with this?  It seems odd that it seems to be only those iPad devices that have a lightening port.

Hi, I had the same problem after I installed Windows 7. My iTunes worked OK except when trying to play a track from my playlist or my Audio CD. Like you my slidebar never moved from 0.00 and I got no sound. The solution was to buy a more up to date sound card, one that is compatible with Windows 7 and Windows Media Centre as well as iTunes. I changed from a Creative Soundblaster Audigy 2 to a Creative Soundblaster X-Fi Extreme Audio and now I can play and hear tracks using iTunes. As your laptop is new I would assume that it has a Windows 7 compatible sound card but you never know it may not.
Hope it works out well for you,
Steve
