Can't get back to other photos after I publish a collection in LR%

Often when I am in LR5 and I decide to use one of my publishing services to publish whatever is in its collection, I can't return to my other photo albums in that catalog without exiting the catalog and then reentering it.  This started several months ago.

I find the same thing. I am on a mac(latest osx) I have to get out of lightroom and then open it up again.(ver 5.2 cc)

Could I get back an older version? those were easier to use, more simplier

Apple wisely leaves a copy of iMovie version 9 installed in the Application folder when you download version 10.

If the menu bar is hidden then press F10 or hold down the Alt key, that should make the "Menu Bar" appear.<br />
Make sure that you have the Navigation Toolbar toolbar visible.
    *View > Toolbars > [X] Navigation Toolbar
    * If items are missing then see if you can find them in the "View > Toolbars > Customize" window
    * If you see a missing item in the Customize window then drag it back from the Customize window onto one of the toolbars.
    * If you do not see that item in "View > Toolbars > Customize" then click the "Restore Default Set" button.

  • HT201317 how can I get back my lost photos stored in Photo stream?

When I did an update, all the photos disappeared. How can I get them back? pleasee! I need them as soon as possible

Doing a backup now is too late.  Use iCloud to perform automatic backups of your devices. Settings>iCloud>Storage&Backup.  Turn on iCloud Backup.

  • Can't get back to "original" photo

I have been downloading my photos to my laptop, storing in iPhoto, and correcting in Photoshop Elements 4. I then store my images on an external hard drive. I've noticed that I've gotten some of those images out of my external hard drive to work on them on my iMAC. I can't get those images to revert back to the original image. What do I have clicked on my laptop that isn't allowing the original image to be saved?

    Deborah,
Are you running your iPhoto library from the external drive? This should work. Or running iPhoto from your laptop, then saving to the external drive? You would have to have an iPhoto Library on the external drive as well. The only way to sync the 2 libraries to preserve the links between the original and modified files is to use iPhoto Library Manager to transfer the photos from the laptop library to the one on the external drive.
Is PE4 set up as your external editor in iPhoto, and are you accessing the photos for editing from within iPhoto?
If this is done, then Saving in PE4 will save the edited version back to the iPhoto library, and you will be able to Revert in iPhoto.
Doing a Save As and changing the location of the file or its filename will not save the edited version correctly. It will not be seen by iPhoto and will have no link to the original. Are you "saving as" your edits directly to the external hard drive? If so, they are not being saved to iPhoto at all.
Also, if your editing creates a layered .psd file, there are 2 ways to deal with this. Doing a Save with the new file extension will break the link between it and the original. You can flatten the image and have PE Save the jpeg. This will preserve the link between the 2 versions. Or keep the layers, and Save As to a location outside of the iPhoto Library folder. Then import into iPhoto as a new original. It will not be linked to the unedited version.

  • Can't get back into os x after os 9 boot.

I've never booted into os 9 on my old imac g3, so I decided to try it. After i selected os 9 as the startup disk and restarted, it showed up as a floppy disk with a question mark installed. I guessed something isn't installed right. I don't really care about os 9 now, i'm just trying to get back into os 10.4 tiger. I've tried holding the option key during restart, and it only shows a refresh button, macintosh hd in the middle, and an arrow pointing toward the right. The refresh doesn't do anything, and the arrow takes me back to the floppy disk with the question mark. Can anybody help me boot back into os x??? Thanks.
    -Aaron

Sometimes you can call Apple and get replacemebt disks reasonably with your Serial# handy!
Tough without a Tiger Disk, but try fsck...
To use fsck, you must run it from the command line. Unlike using your mouse to open an application to do something, you'll need to type a text command at the prompt (#) to tell fsck what to do. The Terminal application (/Applications/Utilities) and single-user mode are two examples of command-line interfaces in which you can type such commands. To use fsck:
    1. Start up your computer in single-user mode to reach the command line. Hold CMD+s keys down at bootup.
Note: If necessary, perform a forced restart as described in the Emergency Troubleshooting Handbook that came with your computer. On desktop computers, you can do this by pressing the reset/interrupt button (if there is one) or holding down the power button for several seconds. On portable computers, simultaneously press the Command-Control-power keys. If your portable computer doesn't restart with this method, you may need to reset the Power Manager.
    2. At the command-line prompt, type /sbin/fsck -fy
    3. Press Return. fsck will go through five "phases" and then return information about your disk's use and fragmentation. Once it finishes, it'll display this message if no issue is found:
** The volume (nameofvolume) appears to be OK
If fsck found issues and has altered, repaired, or fixed anything, it will display this message:
*** FILE SYSTEM WAS MODIFIED ***

Important: If this message appears, repeat the fsck command you typed in step 2 until fsck tells you that your volume appears to be OK (first-pass repairs may uncover additional issues, so this is a normal thing to do).
    4. When fsck reports that your volume is OK, type reboot at the prompt and then press Return.

Then Safe Boot , (holding Shift key down at bootup), off the HD & use Disk Utility from there to Repair Permissions, reboot once more.

  • How to get back all lost photos after updating the iOS8?

When I updated my IOS8 I thought I lost my photos, so I have restored my iPhone but after restoring I have discovered that I lost all my photos, please advise how can get/ retrieve all the lost photos specially since I didn't do backup?

If you backed up to iCloud, you might be able to choose from more than one backup. Each backup made in iTunes on your computer usually replaces the older one, except if you use a backup to restore from. Go to iTunes/Edit/Preferences/Devices and check if there are more backups listed, which you can then use to restore.
    Check these articles about backups:

  • Can I get back bookmarks that disappeared after parental controls were added?

I made a misstake.  I was testing out parental controls and it prompted me to create an administrator account and put my account under parental controls.  When I did that and applied restrictions to my account i set it so that only accepted sites (ones allowed by the administerator and in the bookmarks bar) could be visit.
After a few days I went back and deled the administrator and got rid of parental controls but now all my bookmarks and folders are gone.
Is there a way I can get all my bookmarks back?
(I don't have a time machine hooked up, but I am running OSX 10.7 Lion)

Sorry for the confusion, but I had account 1 (which is my account) when I initiated parental controls it asked me to create an adminsitrator account, so I created account 2 (a new adminstrator account).  When a deleted the adminstrator acccunt (account 2) thus deactivating the aparental controls, all the bookmarks that were hidden during parental controls were now gone.  So I was just curious if they were deleted or if somehow I can find the file that contains all my bookmarks (maybe it's just hidden).  Thanks!

  • I had music on my phone but  when I connected it to my iMac I lost all my music, besides the one that I purchased, and now I can't get back the other one's that weren't purchased. What do I do?

Please tell me I can get my music back. Or if I need to go to the apple store and ask?

If by other music you mean CDs and the like, those were only on your computer to which you last synced the phone.  If they weren't there and yu got them onto the phone by manually syncing to another computer you will have to go back to that computer to get hte music again.  Apple Store certainly won't have it.

  • Can I get back to iTunes Music after failed external hard drive transfer?

I am in the middle of moving a bunch of files to an external hard drive. I followed instructions posted and mentioned on this forum to move iTunes Music; changed iTunes Music folder location to go to the EHD, then consolidated library there. I never deleted the iTunes Music folder that was in My Docs. I noticed a problem with the EHD file and had to delete the iTunes Music folder that I had just set up with a plan to just redo it. I did this thinking that once I reset iTunes to look for the Music folder back in My Docs I would be fine....but, iTunes can not find the original file for any songs. I can manually point iTunes to the song in My Docs, but there must be a better way. I have already changed the Music location in iTunes back to My Docs. Is there something I am missing?
    Thanks
    Dell   Windows XP Pro

    cgb33,
You can use the Add Folder to Library option as explained in this article in the Apple Knowledge Base.
Note that while this will add the songs themselves to iTunes, playlist and related information will not be included.

  • Can get back all my photo from the previous iphone

If you have an back-up or Photo Stream on iCloud you can. Otherwise your data will probably be lost.
