Can't get commercial app to work (Autodesk Softimage)

Hi,
I'm testing the 2011 version of the commercial app "Autodesk Softimage" (3D application) under linux at the moment.
It works under fedora 12/13 but it won't run in archlinux. The problem is that it will crash with a seg. fault when opening files. In Fedora everything is working fine.
I've tested ubuntu and gentoo too and its the same error as in archlinux: opening a file -> crash/seg. fault
I would like to switch to arch linux as a main system but I need to run Softimage.
ldd output of fedora (working):

Still no luck. Tried switching from gamin to fam, updated nvidia drivers but still a crash when opening files.
Is it possible to make a chroot environment with a minimal Fedora system an start the app in there but still use the not-chroot X system?

Can you start Firefox in [[Safe mode]] ?
You can also do a clean reinstall and download a fresh Firefox copy from http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/all.html and save the file to the desktop.
Uninstall your current Firefox version and remove the Firefox program folder before installing that copy of the Firefox installer.
It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.
You can initially skip the step to create a new profile, that may not necessary for this issue.

  • Can't get Facebook App to work on Bold 9700

I have used the Facebook app on my Bold 9700 the past couple of years.  Recently, after an upgrade of the Facebook app, I can no longer get Facebook to work on my phone.  I have installed and uninstalled the app numerous times.  I have done many hard boots by pulling my battery.  Nothing I try seems to work.
When I go to options>applications>add ons it shows that the Facebook app is downloaded onto my phone, but the Facebook application has disappeared from my Applications folder.  If I uninstall Facebook, the Facebook app icon re-appears into the Applications folder.  When I install the app again, it disappears from the Applications folder once again.
If I go to Blackberry World>My World.....Facebook shows as being uninstalled.  If I click on just about anything in My World.....my phone crashes and has to reboot.
Some serious glitch going on.  Is this my phone only or is anyone else having troubles with Facebook and My World after recent upgrades?  Facebook is about the only app I use frequently and I would hate to not be able to use it ever again on my phone.

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
I recommend that you attempt to boot into Safe Mode:
KB17877 How to start a BlackBerry smartphone in Safe Mode
It may take you multiple attempts to get the ESC key sequence (press/release/hold) correct, so be patient. When successfully into Safe Mode, see what happens.
If the behavior ceases, then think carefully...what happened just before this behavior started? A new app? An update? A Theme? Something else? Think carefully as the smallest change could be causal...and attempt to undo whatever that was.
But if the behavior continues in Safe Mode, then you may need to consider more drastic actions -- WIPE, OS Reload, BBSAK Wipe/Reload, and the "Bare Bones" OS Reload Process. To prepare, you should be sure that you have a full backup to your PC...please review the Backup link in my auto-sig on this post for instructions.

instead of writing such an essay, you could have explained better what you tried to do to get them.

  • Can't get scrabble app to work

I've been using the Scrabble app - connected to facebook - for months.  Suddenly, it stopped working last week.  Any ideas how to get it working again?

I also have a non-functioning scrabble app on iphone. It quit a month ago, I thought they would send out an update, but it still was not working. I deleted it, and re-installed, but problem persists. The app will open, and display a splash screen, and just...sit there. Hoping someone has a trick to fix it.

    (1) So, I found a youtube video showing how to open up my iMac and replace a Disk drive. I opened it. I removed the disk drive. I opened the metal cover of the lid of the disk drive. It was clean and immaculate; so, it destroyed and debunked the dirty drive theory. But, just to make sure I sucked around the optical sensor with a vacuum and gently brushed it with a Q-tip.
    (2) I then watched a you tube video showing how the drive operated (it was a drive supplied with power outside an iMac with a transparent cover unlike the opaque metal cover that we have on our drives). My scientific curiosity started to wonder if somehow the mechanical part (of the electro-mechanical assembly) was locked or jammed. So, I started messing with the arms with the utmost care after watching the video to see if i could move them manually. Yes on some. The main arm that is linked with the drive motor was immovable. The rest I played with a little bit, took great notice in the start of the video to see how the arms looked before inserting a disk. I then put it all back together.
It works now. My guess is that taking it out and then placing it back in along with the resetting options that others have done was the trick. I believe it is a possibility that the hard drive became locked mechanically in some strange manner after ejecting a DVD in conjunction with the uploading of the new OS. I believe the actual removal, reinstallation, and resetting of the drive put everything back into sync. My computer sits in a climate controlled dust free environment. I knew for a fact that this hard drive was OKAY.

As already provided, if you don't have such in your iTunes library, on your computer, then there is no way to put it back on your phone. Apps are DRM protected, so even if you found a copy somewhere, you wouldn't be able to use it.

Hold the home and power button down until your phone restarts. If that doesn't work, backup and restore using iTunes.

Thanks, just so I know we are talking about the same items please let me know - When you say "run Prokit" do you mean downloaded? Which I did. I dont have Prokit 4.0.1 if you are referring to that, do I need this first? Please explain what application name I am looking for if other than Prokit which is sitting in my "download folder" do I need to manually put it into the apps folder? Sorry if the questions are layman but this area is not a very strong point for me. Thanks for your help so far.
