Can't get DHCP server to give out correct subnet IP's.
Hi all,
I recently added a VLAN to my SG500X switch. I have the devices communicating between the VLAN’s (using static IP’s).
I setup the new DHCP subnet on my Windows 2003 server but I can’t seem to get the DHCP server to hand out IP’s from the new subnet.
From what I understand, the Windows DHCP server is supposed to detect which VLAN the request is coming from and hand out the correct one. If I plug a laptop into one of the untagged switch ports for the new VLAN I get an IP address...but it's from the original/primary subnet.
Do I need to configure anything else on the switch? It seems to be handing out IP’s on the primary subnet/VLAN just fine. I just need it to hand the correct one.
Any suggestions are appreciated.

Everyone has provided you good info on what to look into so I will just try to give you some background info as this topic threw me for a loop back in the day when I was studying for my CCNA. It never was really explained how the dhcp server knew which scope to assign from. It works like this assuming the dhcp server is not inside the broadcast domain of the client.
1.Client with sends a DHCP request broadcast message
2.Access switch receives untagged frame from client with destination mac of FF:FF:FF:FF:FF:FF
3.Access switch encapsulates the packet into a frame that includes the vlan ID that was configured on the access port the client was connected to. Lets say vlan 10
4.Frame is forwarded out all interfaces in the same vlan or trunk interfaces except where it was received from
5.Your router receives the frame from the trunk port. You either have an SVI or subinterface configured on the L3switch/router that is listening for traffic from that vlan. That SVI/subinterface will have an IP address on it. lets say 10.0.0.1/24.

ip helper-address 192.168.1.50
Router

encapsulation dot1q 10
ip address 10.0.0.1 255.255.255.0

6.Here is were the ip helper comes into play. The router inserts the source IP of the SVI/subinterface for that vlan into the packet and sends it to the dhcp server. So 10.0.0.1 ->192.168.1.50
7.DHCP server receives and chooses the scope based on the source IP in the packet. so in my example the dhcp server will look through it's configured scope and would find one for the 10.0.0.0/24 network.
8. DHCP server sends the dhcp offer to the IP of the SVI/subinterface which then forwards it on to the client.

I Have a iphone 4s and can't get the charger to come out...it was hard to get out the time before but i thought it was just me so then i charged it last night tryed taking it out and it is stuck on one side and will not come out...any suggestions on how to get it out?
You will just have to carefully pull harder. Push the other side back in so it is aligned, then pull it straight out.

How can I get my ES2 loops to play correctly? I keep getting the message that the audio is not found when I drag the loops from my audio browser even though they play fine in the preview.
It's exactly as I stated. Whenever I try to drag these kinds of loops (ESX24 / software instrument loops? the ones marked in green with the white music note next to them) from the loop browser into the timeline a message comes up saying Audio Not Found for that loop. And a new track is created automatically when loops are dragged into the timeline, so I'm not creating some other random / synth instrument track so I'm not sure what the deal is... But perhaps I'll try creating a software instrument track first and then drag the loop into that track and see what happens - maybe there's something with the default settings that automatically creates audio tracks whenever loops are imported?

In e mail can not connect to server i fill out the info and get this

DHCP Server not giving out IP Address to APPLE iPhone
Hi, First off, I hope this is the correct forum....
A little background, I have a very nice 16GB 3G iPhone (from Apple of course). It has no problem connecting to my wireless access point (cisco 1240). I have an old windows server that I can turn on as a dhcp server and it gets an address back right away, however my mac server (10.5) will no give it an address and I do not understand why. I can't get my printer to print out the claim code. HP7520-e All in one
Whenever I press the web icon on my printer, it gives me the printers email address, but there is no place to press to get it to print out a claim code.
I can't get my HP Photosmart 7520 e-All-in-One to print out the claim code, either. I have had problems ever since they switched from ePrintCenter to HP Connected.
This is my second HP Photosmart 7520 e-All-in-One, the first one quit printing and they said I would have to buy a new Printhead Assembly ($73.30), and throw away my partially used ink cartridges and buy new ones ($104 to replace my 5 HP 564XL High Yield Original Ink Cartridges!) It made more sense to buy whole a new printer for $200!

FYI I just ran into this again, and I remembered I had posted about it
earlier. Sweet I thought I will just look up the solution. Well there
was none posted. As I've grown older and wiser since I originally
posted this I figured out what it was.
It's an IP Address conflict. Whatever device is the culprit this time
isn't pingable, but the mac address listed on the error line is not the
mac address of the machine you are imaging but rather of the offender.
I didn't pick up on that last time around. For whatever reason it
didn't have anything in dhcp console for this address so it kept giving
it out again. As a temp workaround I assigned a manual bogus mac to
that IP address it was receiving to prevent any devices from being
assigned to it (because it's already in use). After a few days when
leases expire, I'll delete that entry. It's possible that some brain
child manually assigned an IP to their machine. I'll have to track it
down later.

I have the b200 error and can't get the cartirdges to move out so I can change it.
I have a MX850 cannon. I have the b200 error and can see that the middle cartridge is empty but I can't get the ink cartridge holder tomove out. I have tried with power off but the ink cartridge holder won't move out.

I tried dragging from the site onto the toolbar, and even though that works on my Mac, doesn't on Win. 7. I saved Facebook to my bookmark toolbar in the bookmarks folder, but can't get it out of the folder.
My iphone 4s just developed a similar problem. Ultimately, after a visit to the Genius Bar at which I was offered a replacement phone for $149, I took the phone to a non-Apple repair shop which diagnosed the problem as tarnished pins in the docking connector and replaced the connector for $49.
The symptoms I experienced were that the phone would not pull a charge. I tried different cables, wall outlet versus computer USB connection, etc. The screen stayed black until I depressed the sleep button, at which time the red battery / lightening bolt symbol would flash three times and then the screen would go black.
If your battery is dead, that icon will not show up at all. If you get the icon, it means your battery is run down and needs to recharge, but the defective docking connector is preventing the battery from taking the charge.
