Can't get digital signature field to work

I am using Acrobat Standard. I am trying to create a form with a digital signature field. My problem is that when the PDF is opened with Reader on the same PC it works as expected. Soon as it is emailed/moved somewhere else the box doesn't do anything, no ability to digitally sign or even type in that field.
So I am struggling with creating a PDF on one PC that needs to be digitally authorised by someone else on a different PC, using Adobe Reader.
I have been using Save as...>Reader Extended PDF
Please help! Apologies if this something obvious and simple, this is the first time I have tried to do this.

I have sent out a test form and had a coworker complete, sign and send back but when I open up the form it says I have a signature error. and then i get this pop up when I click on the signature
What am I doing wrong? I work in HR and need these to be valid signatures. Thank you so much in advance!!!

Yes, the search field does work in Notes.
You can also use search your entire iPhone (including Notes) for something - this can be very useful
- in any normal apps page put your finger on the screen around the middle of the screen and swipe downwards
- you can then enter something to search for in your entire iPhone
Try resetting your iPhone to get Notes search back,
Reset your iPhone by pressing the 'Sleep' and 'Home' button at the same time for about 15 seconds or so. Your iPhone will then go through a reset / reboot procedure and will be ready for use within about a minute.
Don't worry about doing this as you will not lose data or settings.

Can't get digital signature to appear

Created dig signature. Trying to insert signature in pdf file.
But even though I see my signature listed when I check under Pref/Security, when Im in the document I need to sign and I click on Sign, all the Sign commands are blanked out except for the Help segment (getting started with dig sign.)
What am I missing here?????

I looked through all the settings on Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro and I haven't been able to figure out how to save a pdf so that when I open it in Acrobat Reader, I can sign the signature field. When it's in Pro, the field works just fine and the document properties say that signing is allowed. However, if it's opened in Reader, it will not allow the signature box to be signed, as the options are all greyed out. When I look into the document properties while the pdf is open in Reader, it says that signing is "not allowed".
So far the only way I've been able to get the signature field to work is by distrubuting the form and opening up the distrubuted form (which makes sense). What I'm wondering is if there is a way to allow for signing a pdf if it hasn't been distrubuted.
Any help anyone can give wil be appreciated.

The document has to be enabled with Acrobat Pro, as opposed to Standard which cannot enable a document for signatures. This happens automatically when a form is distributed, but you can do it by selecting: Advanced > Extend Features in Adobe Reader
The security restriction summary indicates that signing is allowed because it is, in Acrobat. It doesn't mean it's allowed in Reader.

Do you mean a X.509 certificate or a digitalized image?
If its the first one, i don't think you can do it with Livecycle Alone.
If its the second one, anything from Paint to Corel will do.

Upgraded to Acrobat X and signature field stop working

Upgraded to Acrobat X and IntegriSign signature field stop working. When I open the pdf and click on the signature field I get a "This plug-in is intended for validating signatures signed using earlier versions of Acrobat. To sign using this version of Acrobat, use "IntegriSign for Acrobat 9.0 and later" handler.
Under Perferences in Acrobat, 9.0 and later is checked.
In LiveCycle Designer - IntegriSign is indicated for Signature handler.
Can't figure out how to solve this. I have uninstalled, reset IntegriSign and Adobe settings a trillion times!

Digital Signature Field == null

I created a button that will only execute if the digital signature field has been signed. However even when the signature field is signed use of the button after the signature still pops up with the scripted message "This document has not been signed yet.".
I have the button excluded from locking after signature.
Here is how I wrote the checking script.

I can't get the first line to fire in LiveCycle Designer ES 2.0
I created a new file with only three items. 1. Text field named "signedFlag" made "User Entered - Required" in the Object + Value tab.
2. A signature field named "SignatureField1" that doesn't lock anything after signature. 3. A button with the script:

Trigger a Signature Date when Digital Signature Field is Signed

I'm looking for a way to have a date field populate when a digital signature field is signed on my Adobe Designer Form. The signature technology I'm using does not work seamlessly with Adobe LiveCycle Designer and is unable to add the date when the document is signed. So I was thinking I could call a function to add the date to the date field when the signature field is signed. I just dont know how to do it.

Here is some code that will allow you to check the signature field:

In this case the signature field is called claimsign. After running this code the variable oState will conatin a value ....if it is 0 then the field is not signed. So you can add code like this:

     go through your submission process code

How do I delete a digital signature field?

I have Adobe Acrobat Pro 9 on Snow Leopard. I created a digital signature for a PDF file but it didn't look good, so I decided to delete it. I figured out how to delete the signature, but the signature field with the little red arrow did not delete with my signature. I want my PDF form to revert to the way it was before I created the signature. I cannot simply close the PDF without saving because I'd lose all the information I've already entered. Stupid me forgot to save before attempting the digital signature.

Hi SM,
The place to look for permission settings is on the Security tab of the Document Properties dialog. You can get there by selecting the File > Properties menu item and then select the Security tab.
One thing to note is if the file is Reader Enabled you will need to use the File > Save a Copy menu item to create a non-Reader enabled version of the file. You cannot edit a Reader Enabled file. As an aside, the Save a Copy menu item won't be there if the file is not Reader Enabled.
If the file was created using Designer (which is only on Windows and I know you are using a Mac) then it has to be edited in Designer.
If the file was certified, then you need to remove (clear) the certifying signature before you can edit the file, and to do that you must have access to the private key that was used as part of that signature operation.
Finally, if the file is encrypted (e.g. Password Security or Certificate Security), you can edit the file, but you have to get Acrobat to realize you are the document owner which means you need the Permissions password or or logged in using a document owners digital ID (the former is only for Password Security and the latter is only for Certificate Security).

Digital signature has stopped working in Acrobat Pro 9

Digital signature has been working properly for years, but now none of my pdfs will allow my digital signature. Here is the error message I get, but I can't make sense of it. Is the application corrupted? Magnify the screen shot below if necessary.

Can Not Delete digital signature

Acrobat 6.0 Windows. Have a digital signature field (mine) in a document. The digital signature tab and the field both show a red X. The signature tab says the field is invalid. It says it contains potentially malicious content - Java actions. It also says that changes were made to the document that invalidate the signature.
I need to add some more text fields and fill in their values and can NOT do that now.
I have checked the Knowledgebase and the Help file and can NOT delete the signature the way they say - it says the signature is read-only.
Please HELP !

It sounds like the document author set the file up so the creation of the signature locked all of the fields in the document (to prevent tampering). If that was the case, then the signature field was locked as well which prevents the signature from being cleared. Sorry, but there is no work around.

Need help making digital signature field read only if required fields are null

Using Adobe LiveCycle Designer, I have a digital signature field. I want to prevent users from being able to digitally sign the pdf if any required fields in the pdf are null or blank. I'm a newbie to scripting so any detailed help would be greatly appreciated. The required fields in the pdf include radio buttons, check boxes, text field, etc. I appreciate any help anyone can provide.

Exactly how you check a field for being empty depends on what type of field it is. For text fields, you should get the field's value as a string and compare it to an empty string, something like:
var val = getField("Text1").valueAsString;

If there is a default value that needs to be changed, you would compare to the default value:
var f = getField("Text1");
var val = f.valueAsString;
if (val !== f.defaultValue) {
app.alert("Field value is OK");
For check boxes and radio buttons, you'd compare to the string "Off", which means none in the group is selected.
For dropdowns (combo boxes) and list boxes, there is normally one value selected, so you would have to get the value and check against the default value (or something else) to see if the field is properly filled in.
You could place the script there, but I usually use a separate button that I encourage the user to click in order to check the field. The problem with using the Will Save event is you can't prevent the save from happening.
The script can loop through all of the fields (and test all required ones), or you could set up an array of field names to check.

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)

I'll change it now. I just realized it sounds rough, but I was mad because I couldn't get it work, it isn't anyone's fault, sorry
EDIT: I got it to work at an usable state! By using the 8192cu driver on the AUR and the suggestions in the comments about disabling power-save, I got it to be usable. It now has up to 8% packet loss, not 30-40% like before, and the ping spikes are now 300-400 ms and less frequent, not 1000-1200ms. It's not working really well but now I can at least surf the web. Thank you all for the patience.
EDIT 2: after testing more I realized it still disconnects every few seconds when I'm far from the AP. However, when connected, I still have very strong signal. If I use it on windows or another distro it doesn't disconnect. I tried compiling the driver from realtek by myself using the istructions in the second post but I don't know how to fix some compile errors, so I decided I'll stick with my usb dongle. Maybe someone will find a better solution.
