Can't get DVD /black

hi. i am in need of assistance to remove "untitled dvd (& black & yellow round icon) off the places area.
i burned some photos to a dvd. ejected the dvd, but the label remains... what to do?
i tried burning photos again -- thinking maybe it is just stuck. well, all that happend was that it kept "burning" forever... so somthing with that file is
funky.
any ideas?

Bootup holding CMD+r, or the Option/alt key to boot from the Restore partition & use Disk Utility from there to Repair the Disk, then Repair Permissions.
Reboot... any change?

Can't get DVD burner or Isight camera to work via FW

I can't get a DVD burner (FW) or an Isight camera to work. The DVD doesn't mont and the Isight camera just turns on then back off.......I did all the disc maintenance and reset the PRAM. At one time these devices did works. Sometimes the FW board shows up in the System Profiler and sometime it doesn't. Could it be a faulty FW board? Firmware?

A new PCI card and $39 fixed it. I got the firewire 400 since my DVD burner and iSight camera run on 400. The 800 would have been nice. And it was on sale as a discontinued item, $22 ($99). But there is a catch, 400 and 800 cables aren't the same. DAH!!! New cables would have cost around $68. Yes, I do have cable supplier here in town were I could have bought the same cables at pennies on the dollar. Another DAH!!! I didn't think of it till after I put the card in. All so my cable supplier is on the other side of town. I'm tried and lazy right now.

It comes up as a file, and i can view each chapter as a different file, but I can't get it to play.

Go to System Preferences, "CDs and DVDs" - what action is specified when you insert a video DVD? If it's "Nothing", change it to "DVD Player" or your application of choice.

Can I get a black keyboard in ios7

I have noticed in ios7 there are certain instances when the iphone/ipad keyboard turns black in color, for example when you enter your password into the itunes store to buy an app. Is it possible to get the keyboard this color permanently? Thanks.

Actually I beleive the Black Keyboard is to notify the user that you are typing into a secure apple form, while in a 3rd party app. Apple uses the black keyboard when you type your Apple ID password and for other sensivitve fields.
This is useful because a app can have in app purchases. If the app maker creates his own Apple ID and password form, to steal your information, the keyboard would be white. But when Apple asks for your Apple ID, you can be sure it's them asking for it because the keyboard is black.
Edit: Actually as of iOS 7, everyone can acces the black keyboard, by using the UIKeyboardAppearanceDark property. So I guess it doesn't mean it is a secure apple form. Sorry.

How can I get rich black onto only black plate

I do layout for an advertising magazine. Much of the content is received from others (the advertisers) and much of that is amatuer (created in Word, etc.).
I place the ads into an ID (using CC) and export to PDF. My printer has me using a PDF/X-1a:2001 standard and for color conversion has me using Convert to Destination (Preserve Numbers) with Destination and PDF/X Out Intent both Document CMYK. These settings work well for getting the RGB images in these documents output to CMYK as we need.
The problem is that often there will be text, or other fine line graphics, etc. that are actually rich black, printing on all plates, and the printer wants only a black plate to avoid registration problems.
We are printing on newsprint on a newspaper press.
Is there anyway to export to PDF and get these rich blacks to print only on the black plate (the copy also contains color images; usually RGB which the profile converts to CMYK)?

The text in the PDFs you are placing could be 4-color rich blacks, but it could also be black only and you are getting a CMYK-to-CMYK conversion on output (4-color blacks) because of conflicting profiles.
I don't think you've mentioned what your document's Color Mangement policy is, but to avoid profile conflicts when you place PDFs with CMYK color, the CMYK policy has to be either Off or Preserve Numbers (Ignore Linked Profiles). Note that for existing layouts the policy is set on creation.
Also, the export dialog's Convert to Destination (Preserve Numbers) can be misleading, that setting preserves the documents native colors, but not the colors of placed images and PDFs. If a placed PDF's profile conflicts with the ID document's profile, black will get converted—it's the opposite of the Preserve Numbers (Ignore Linked Profiles) CM policy.
My color settings are as follows:
North America General Purpose 2

CMYK US Web Coasted (SWOP) v2
Color Management Policies
RGB Preserve Embedded Profiles
CMYK Preserave Numbers (Ignroe Linked Profiles)
For the export dialog, I am using Convert to Destination (Preserve Numbers) because that it what my printer told me to use (remember that besides the black issue we are also dealing with making sure all images are CMYK and not RGB).

Iphone 4s has been stolen can i get it black screened?

The only way to locate/disable/erase any lost/stolen iPhone/iPod Touch is through Find My Phone or a similar app. However, this requires that Find My Phone be setup/activated, on your phone, before it was lost/stolen. You would then login at iCloud.com & try to locate it. This requires the phone be turned on & have an Internet connection. There is no other way to locate a lost/stolen iPhone. Apple can't/won't help you, nor will your carrier. Report the loss to the Police, your carrier & Insurance company. Change all of your passwords.
If your carrier offers Blacklisting & they Blacklist the phone, it will be unusable as a phone.
If locked with a passcode, all a thief or whoever finds it has to do is force the phone into recovery mode & restore it. While this deletes all data on the phone, it also removes the passcode so the phone can then be used as a phone or touch.

Newbie question: Can't get 100% black

I have created text. When it prints, I am getting 4 color plates. I filled with foreground color that is 100% black. What am I missing? Thanks for any help.

In CMYK, you can render black 2 ways: as "rich black" (made up of all four plates), or "black-only" (made up of black ink only.)
When you say you created the text with "foreground color... 100% black", that probably means you used Photoshop's default colors - black and white. If you open the color picker and look at how the default black is made, you'll see that it's a combination of C, M, Y and K.
If you are creating the file in CMYK mode, you can open the color picker, enter 0/0/0/100 in the CMYK fields, and fill your type or shape. You'll have 100% black and no other colors.
If you're creating your file in RGB, you're SOL. When you convert to CMYK, all black will be converted to rich black using the CMYK build as defined by the CMYK profile to which you're converting. In that case, you would have to go back into the CMYK file and manually fix all the elements that are supposed to be black-only.
It's a rather nasty can of worms. This is one of the things that keeps an RGB workflow from being accepted universally by the prepress community. There are tools available (Alwan, etc.) that will preserve black-only elements as the file gets converted from RGB to CMYK, but they are not widely used yet.

Where can I get the black plastic feet/plug for a MBp A1278?

One of our children have apparently removed one of the black rubber/plastic feet, from the bottom of my wife's MBp A1278. I would have discounted it as a cosmetic item, but when the wife uses the laptop on a hard surface, it rocks. And well, she is unhappy, so I am here.
I understand that in the process of replacing one, I may have to purchase the entire set. But if it means that she is happy, then it is worth it. And who knows, down the road the kids may take out one of the others....

I talked to 1 person in Apple Store Sales, and 3 people in Apple Support. I could not get this kit ordered over the phone (and it's not available online anywhere). Apple Support advised me to buy 3rd party kits available on Amazon. (Not the same thing.) I made a Genius Bar Appointment at my local Mac store and showed them HT5236 in the Knowledge Base. I walked out with Part Number 076-1398 "MacBook Pro Foot Installation Kit, SIngle-Pack" times 2 since I needed to replace 2 of the feet. Each one was 10 bucks. You need a tiny bit of super glue to install, but it's not an onerous task. It comes with installation instructions. Only tool you need is the screwdriver to open the bottom case.

Can't get dvd to import into imovie? Any suggestions?

I have my sister's wedding that a friend took for me on his camcorder, and burned to a dvd for me. But when I put the dvd in I am unable to save or anything and when I go to imovie and try to import it the best I get is files unrecognizable, but I'm not even sure I'm picking the right files. . .video is in NTSC. DVDs are in a socalled delivery format (mpeg2), which isn't meant and made for any processing as editing... so, any conversion process will add a (dramatic) loss in picture quality.

1. Restart the computer and hold the trackpad down.
2. Launch iTunes and eject from there.
3. Launch Terminal.
      Applications > Utilities > Terminal

If I sent my white iPhone 5 in for replacement, can I get a black iPhone 5 sent back instead?

I originally wanted a black iPhone 5 but was advised to get the white one because of "scuff-gate". I was wondering, will Apple send me a black iPhone 5 in exchange for my white one if I'm sending it in for a product replacement anyway?

No. Apple will only replace your iPhone with an identical model. If you want your iPhone a different color, consider a case or a skin in whatever pattern or color you like.

Create Recovery Discs from your HDD, then load them onto the SSD.
