Can't get email on iPad

My iPad will only download email from one of my Gmail accounts. In Settings/Mail/Accounts, all three accounts show up, but only one actually downloads. I've tried deleting the other ones and re-establishing them, but that doesn't help.  They download fine onto my iMac and iPhone.
Any ideas?

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
Or this - Delete the account in Mail and then set it up again. Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Accounts   Tap on the Account, then on the red button that says Remove Account.

  • HT1430 Can not get email on Ipad latest version bought december 2012. Turned off . Turned back on, verified mail provider settings.turned off computer mail which works fine.dO i NEED TO DELETE ACCOUNT AND START NEW ONE . wILL i LOOSE PREVIOUS MAIL

    I've removed my yahoo account several times. All it does is delete the info off my iPad and doesn't touch the account itself. So I can go back in, re-add the account and then redownload my mail again. I haven't had to change my passwords or anything.
    You might look on sympatico's site, see if they have any troubleshooting specific to iPads.

    You did a reset... if you didn't reset network settings, try that too. Settings / Reset / Reset Network Settings.

    Go to Settings>Mail>Gmail>>Advanced. Do you  have an an item for Deleted Messages Remove? What options are available.?
    Also in Settings>Mail>Gmail  does the Host Name for incoming server have a POP in it?

    I can't get email to open on my iPad, which I recently updated to 7.1. I've tried resetting and syncing, still doesn't work. The whole email app won't open, it just opens to white for a second and then returns to the home screen.

    if you go into Preview Mode does the Mail app appear there?
    Preview Mode:  double click the Home button, you will see preview screens for each open app, with the app icon beneath the preview screen.  You can scroll left and right.
    If you see the Mail app - quit it by swiping from the preview screen (not the icon) up off the top of the screen.  There must be not left-right movement when you swipe.
    Quit all the open apps, then try resetting your iPad again.
    Reset:  hold both the Home button and the Power button down for approximately 10 seconds until the Apple logo appears.  Let go promptly when the logo appears.  Wait another 30 seconds for the iPad to restart itself.

    this problem could probably be caused by a Firefox extension.
    To make sure that no extension is causing the problems,
    start Firefox in Safe Mode by following the instructions in the [[Safe Mode]] article.

    Tom, thanks for your quick reply. I'm a commerical photographer using Canon 5D mk2's mostly and have in the past just downloaded images to a mac book for backup. I really liked the compact size of the Ipad and just got the retina model with the camera connection kit and seem to be hearing that CF readers can't be used with it b/c they draw too much power. Seems like I remember reading I could use a cord that might have come with my cameras to download directly to the Ipad. I haven't tried it yet as I can't find the connection but then you just said it can't be done? 
       I'm COMPLETLY lost as to your "first pluging in a flash drive to my computer, advice. Do you mean Ipad when you say computer?  "then put your movie/photo files into the folder." HOW????????
         Then plug it into the Ipad??????     TOTALLY lost.
    Also your saying just "do a google search for a reader doesn't work b/c NONE are able to work with the newer Ipads b/c they use TOO much power or so everyone says everyone that have tried.
       Hope you can help a little more b/c I'm really getting frustrated with all the conflicting advice!

  • Can't get email over wifi at home, but can at work.

    Okay, I think this is a problem with settings on my time capsule, but I can't figure out what. On my iPhone 5 and wife's iPad I can get email over the cellular network and over wifi at work. I can't get email over wifi at home, get a can't connect to server error. Also had a friend, who uses the same ISP, try with his android phone - same error, but works over wifi at his house. Since I can get email over cellular and wifi at work, I'm fairly confident that I have the server settings correct. Any ideas?

    Was facing a similar issue with my friend's iPad (Latest one). Forcing the DNS Server to 8.8.8.8 (I think Google's DNS servers) fixes this issue. I had faced something similar on my iMac a long time back. Something a little strange about how Apple products do a DNS lookup? Not sure if it is an issue with the response time of the DNS servers as well..
    In any case, the good news was changing it to 8.8.8.8 worked.. Luckily the iPad's network configuration tool allows you to navigate to the pane where you can see the DHCP supplied IP addresses and just go to the DNS field, delete what was present there and force it to this address.
    The difficulty in coming to this conclusion was the fact that the browser works fine for all the sites we had tried. It is mostly the apps that had trouble, and the App store also was inconsistent in reporting details..

    I'd recommend restarting your iPhone. If you're still unable to proceed, I would recommend resetting the device.
