Can't get enhanced podcast exported correctly!?!?

As an experiment to developing an enhanced podcast of my own I took a live audio cd and imported it into GB 3.0.2 on one stereo audio track as one continuous file. I then added chapter markers and images on the podcast track.
It seems that no matter what I try I can't seem to get my iPod to recognize the chapters. I've tried exporting to disk and iTunes as well as tried editing the info through iTunes itself to no avail. Plus I also notice that the file doesn't display in iTunes under the Podcast heading like my other downloaded podcasts do.
I even tried deleting all other unused audio tracks as one previous thread suggested that GB has trouble with exporting enhanced podcasts with multiple audio tracks and a mixdown should be performed first and then chapterized. Although as the post also said the menu sould read "Export Enhanced Podcast to Disk..." which mine doesn't say.
Any help in solving this dellima would be greatly appreciated.
PowerMac G5 ~ w/4.5Gb Ram   Mac OS X (10.4.6)

Alright Kids,
It seems that my G5 just doesn't seem to get it! I moved GB and supporting audio files over to my PowerBook G4 and was able to create the podcast with the chapters embedded as I was looking to do.
However the file with multiple audio tracks would not create the chapterized file correctly, and it wasn't until I deleted all unused tracks to one audio track and podcast track that I got the desired result.
I would presume that performing a mixdown and importing the mixed down file into a new GB file to add chapters would be the work around to the issue and in essence be the equivalent to my deleting unused tracks.

  • How can I get Lightroom to export my edit to a jpeg that looks the same ?

    Hi everyone,
I can't get my jpeg export to look the same as it looks in lightroom after edit.
The jpeg isn't that different but still, way too much for me.
I did use sRVB, 100% no scaling etc... but it seems the export won't take "all" of my noise reduction correction..
This is a portrait shot in lowww light, and the raw file was rather crappy. Eventhough I was really happy with my smooth final edit but I can't get my jpeg to look as clean.. please someone help meee !
    Regards,

What infos can I give you all to help me sort this problem out ?
    export : quality 100%
                 sRVB
                 no scaling
In lightroom my image is just clean whereas after export, I can notice some artifacts or "moire", and it feels like the noise reduction/sharpen tool doesnt apply its correction as it should.. but it still does a bit bc it's not as if I turned it off completly...
    This is driving me crazy
I'm about to install RC3 and try with it...

  • Music in itunes from different cd's, how can i get it to have correct info?

    1.  I have over 2000 songs in itunes from different mixed cd's, how can I get them to have correct artist and album and titles?
    2.  How can I convert them all to mp3 because I have to be able to send them to windows media player because I have mp3 players that I would like to play these on along with my ipod?

I personally use TuneUp from http://www.tuneupmedia.com/
It works on both Mac and PC.
It is a great tool for correcting MetaData "Music Info" for all of your songs. It also adds the correct album artwork and can remove duplicate songs from your library easily.
iTunes on PC will convert the WMA to MP3 for you if you like. To do so just right click on your WMA files in iTunes and choose convert to MP3.
If you have already moved all of your music to Mac and no longer have a windows machine there are a couple of programs that will do it for you from Mac OS X. Some are free and some cost money. Let me know if you would like to know a couple of examples.

There are several very good third-party podcast apps you can download from the app store.
Personally, I'm very happy with "DownCast".  I've given up on the apple podcast app, and DownCast seems to do everything I need.  My whole family uses it.

I guess I should have mentioned it worked before the most recent update. 10.9.0 and 10.9.1 it worked, but since the 10.9.2 update it stopped working.

    Hey wingrider97,
Are you trying to download the Podcasts on iTunes, and then sync them over to your iPod? Or are you attempting to download them directly to your iPod using the Podcast app? Depending on your answer, one of the following documents might help:

  • Can't get Landscape printing aligned correctly...

I'm new to Java and this forum, so any help with the following would be greatly appreciated:
Description: Incorrect height alignment when printing Landscape.
Hardware: Power Macintosh 8500/120, 48MB RAM.
Brother HL-1650 Laser Printer, 8MB RAM.
    Software: Mac OS 8.6.
    MRJ2.2 (JDK1.1.8), MRJSDK2.2, JFC/Swing1.1.1.
Procedure: 1) Compile BorderDemo.java (see source code below) with javac.
    2) Run BorderDemo with JBindery.
    3) Select "Landscape" printing, then select "Print".
Results: Incorrect alignment of GridLayout within BorderLayout's Center position.
The first printed row is incorrect. It is split with 6/8ths in row1, and 2/8ths
    in the last row.
Expected: The BorderLayout's Center position should print 6 rows and 7 columns of
8 x 1 TextEdit field items (This is supposed to be a calendar). It should fill
the 8.5 x 11 piece of paper in Landscape print mode.
Note: It correctly displays on the computer monitor.

  • I can't get garageband to export!  It keeps getting stuck at 'creating chapters' when I try to export my enhanced podcast.  Please help!

I am trying to export my enhanced podcast through garageband.  I have all the current updates.  I am on my MacBookPro 10.6.8 2.3GHz with 8GB ram.  My enhanced podcast (podcast with pictures) is about 80 mins long and I have tried exporting with everything from the lowest settings to the highest always with the same result.  I have tried deleting GB preferences.  I have tried repairing permissions to no avail.
I hit export to disk or send to itunes.
I select some AAC format I want (optimized for spoken podcast).
It slowly builds the mix, normalizes, and creates chapters (yeah, it goes through the creating chapters bar to completion)
Then it goes all candystripe on the creating chapters bar once it fills up and will hang forever (hung for 8 hours....pretty much sounds like 'forever' in my book).
Please help...I have my podcast sitting there waiting to be used....I have tried exporting smaller chunks (by moving the end of file bar) but that doesn't work either.  Is there a way to just send the pictures and the picture start times over to imovie and work with it there?  I'd much rather work with the tools that imovie has but man that program is just a PITA to use when you want to run through 100+ pictures for variable durations (whereas it's easy to just drag and drop with garageband as you do playback).
The file only has one stereo audio track!

Hi notmatthew, I have exactly the same problem as you. I am trying to export a podcast about iPod X Anniversary so I need to publish it next sunday.
It's midnight in Spain but tomorrow I will tray something I read in other post:

    Problem solved.
I deleted the chapters one by one, exporting it each time, until it worked. i then replaced the image (which was a .jpg and i converted to .png) with that chapter and now it works.
    Could you try it?

  • Can I change the size of my enhanced Podcast or correct the aspect ratio

I would like to be able to embed pictures in a Podcast that are 480x360. As a worst case, I would like them to be 320x240. Is this possible?
When I open my .m4a or .m4b in QuickTime I see that I can adjust the aspect ratio or size. However, as far as I can determine, QuickTime will not let me save the change unless I save into a format other than m4a or m4b.
Saving as a mov eliminates the chapter control which I want to keep.
Does anyone know of a way to fix this limitation?
I'd accept 480x480 if that were possible too!
    Thanks!

    Follow up information:
The aspect ratio appears correct in a video iPod or via the iTunes interface. However, if the same file is played via QuickTime then the aspect ratio is forced to a square.
The overall intent is to view the enhanced PodCast full screen which can be done via QuickTime. The "Now Playing" window in iTunes is too small (Clicking on it to bring up the current slide does not work as the slide is not updated concurrently with the "Now Playing" window.

  • I purchased a new computer and transferred itunes, but can't get the podcasts I downloaded after the transfer to sync to my nano

I purchased a new computer and transferred itunes to it but now can't get podcasts downloaded after the transfer to sync with device.

So you have these podcasts downloaded and stored in your iTunes library is that correct?  However, they will not sync with the device?  Are these video or audio podcasts?
How is your Nano currently configured to sync podcasts?  You can check this by viewing the iPod's Podcasts configuration tab in iTunes.  To view this tab, plug your iPod in and select it from under the Devices section in the left hand pane of iTunes to bring yourself to the Summary tab that now shows to the right.  Look for the Podcasts tab along the top and select it.  Here you can configure how and what Podcasts are synced.
If you do happen to make any changes from under this tab, be sure to hit the Apply button to sync the updated changes to the Nano.

  • When in audiobooks I can't get to podcasts

I just recently started loading Audiobooks onto my iPhone4S (IOS 5.0.1), I listen to these and podcasts when driving to work. But I've found a strange quirk in the interface. To get to the Audiobooks I go into
    Music>More>Audiobooks
But once I'm in the Audiobooks section, I often can't get back out again to the root  'Music>More' menu, so I can't get into the Podcasts section. Where the 'Back' button should be within the Audiobooks section is a link to the iTunes store. Even if I close and re-open the music app, it remembers that I was in Audiobooks and just takes me back there. It doesn't happen every time though, if I'm just browsing it doesn't seem to happen, but after listening to an audiobook to the end it nearly always ends up stuck and once it's gone wrong it stays that way.
To listen to a podcast I either need to reboot the whole phone, or else try and get Siri to play the podcast I'm after. Both of which can be a pain, expecially as some of the podcasts have names that Siri strugles with.
Anyone else seeing this? It looks like an interface bug, in certain circumstances they just forgot to include a back button. But maybe I'm just missing something?
Couple of things that might be an influence.
    1. I mosly listen to this stuff using a Bluetooth connection in the car.
    2. These aren't Audiobooks purchased through iTunes, but rather MP3 files I get seperately (review copies, not pirated). After I load them into iTunes they appear in the music section and I have to edit the info to make them Audiobooks. I'm wondering if manually setting the properties is confusing things?

I have this exact same problem. It seems like it would be an easy fix on a future update, as long as they are aware of it.
I usually just close the "Music" app and re-open it to fix the problem, but they really need to fix this glitch.
In case you don't know how to close an app: double-click the home button (this pulls up a list of open apps), press and hold one of the icons until they start wiggling, and then touch the little red "X" next to te "Music" app.

  • Can't get albums/songs in correct order!!! (11.1.3)

I can't get songs and albums to order correctly on my iPod. All but one album has the correct song order on iTunes on my laptop and they are all ordered by artist/year on iTunes, I can't get that ordering method to transfer to the iPod. And on half the albums on the iPod the songs are out of order and/or the albums are out of chronological order.
So I had been using some outdated version of iTunes on my old computer for some time, and with that version and my 4th gen Nano I was able to get my albums arranged by year like I like them.
I bought a new computer (old one still works) and had my iPod stolen about the same time so I had a new computer and was forced to resort to a secondhand 3rd gen Nano, using iTunes 11.1.3, completely unfamiliar to me. Some of the stuff I own isn't off iTunes and that's what I'm having the biggest problem with.
I had the issue of two songs being in the wrong place on one album. The track numbers were appropriate, everything else in the "get info" field was identical to the rest of the album. Frustrated, I once again copied my library from my old computer to my new one. This was a huge mistake.
In an attempt to get everything back the way it was I started messing with the iPod settings in iTunes, checking boxes like "manually manage songs" without having a clue what they did. I tried "converting higher bit songs to 192kbps" due to this old turd not being able to hold all my music otherwise. This helped none.
At least half of my albums were now out of chronological order, some of them were split into 2 albums, (one album would claim to only have one song. It had all 12 or so songs from that album but they were out of order.) Some had all the songs in order but were chronologically incorrect. (2002 album appearing before 1997 album) and some (like the one I got off a CD) are impossible to order correctly. I manually filled out every. single. field. in the "properties" section. The track listing still goes like 2,3,4,5,1,10,7,8,9 or something like that. It is just infuriating.
I have just had it. I've tried everything I can think of, I've scowered the internet and can't find anything helpful.
I'm at the point right now where I think it would be easier to just buy 50 CDs and use those to listen to in my car rather than have to deal with Satan's idea of user-friendliness. Any help is greatly appreciated, I've just had it.

This is a programming error, obviously - to me. Is someone addressing that issue? Anybody?
What behaviour exactly do you consider to be a programming error? If repeatable and clearly not an intended design choice then a bug report might be in order. If it works as designed but you think it should work differently then feedback would be the way to go. Either way nobody is likely to address an issue that isn't brought to their attention.
I am unable to put the songs of a playlist I created in the order I want. iTunes 11.1.3 has been on my machine since September of last year and this issue began today. I'd lke to believe it's the result of something I have done, but the world is full of things I would like to believe that are not.
"View Options" was set to 'manual' and songs would snap back when I attempted to move them, so - as that was the only preference I could find that applied - I changed it to "Artist Name" and back to manual. Now they don't budge when I attempt to move them.
Ah, when viewing a playlist use the List view and select the heading of the left-most column of numbers. This is the Play Order column. You can drag tracks up and down the list. If you sort on some other column and would like to use this as an initial order which you can then modify, right-click on the playlist name and click Copy to Play Order then select the play order column. Note the triangle should be pointing upwards otherwise the list will play in reverse on your device.

  • Can't get iPhoto to print correct size photo

I have iPhoto 09.   I have two 4 x 6 photos I want to print, one on top of the other, with a 1 1/4 outside border all around and a 1/2 space in between them.  I'm printing on an 8 1/2 x 11 piece of photo paper.
I did this several months ago and it worked fine.  Now I'm trying to print the same arrangement, but can't get the sizing right.  I don't remember exactly how I constructed the above layout but assumed that I printed it as a two-photo contact sheet.  But now when I do it that way, the photos end up cropped and approximately 3 1/2 x 5 1/2 (instead of 4 x 6) and top/bottom borders of 1 3/4 instead of 1 1/4.   The L-R borders are now at 1 1/2 instead of 1 1/4.  The 1/2 space in between them remains correct.
Can anyone help me figure out what I'm doing wrong?   Thanks.

    Apply the library repair below:
Launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
Select the options identified in the screenshot.
