This can occur if:
The date on your device is incorrect. Choose Settings > General > Date & Time to check and set the date.

There is no way of doing that from a 4G iPod if you did not install the app before it was updated to be only compatible with iOS 7.
Thus, you will have to use a computer and in a browser go to icloud.com>FIndMyiPhone.

Anyway - since you are running Mountain Lion, you already have "Find my Mac" installed. This will also locate your iPhone, if you enable "Find my iPhone" on your phone.
To enable "Find my Mac" open the System Preferences and go to the iCloud panel. Sign into iCloud and enable "Find my Mac" by pressing the button beside the icon.

Downloaded iOS7 but cannot get find my iphone to work

my find my iphone will not find anything since the download iOS7. passwords are in, cant even find the iphone that I am using. It can only find the iphone with iOS6 in it.

I cannot get Find My iPhone to work!

I have researched all the other questions related to this issue on the forums here at Apple and tried all the suggestions. Network is connected. I have performed resets. Location services and find my iPhone are on. My Apple ID is set correctly. I've tried everything but I must be missing something else.
I am on the latest iOS version and I have an iPhone 5S.
I don't know what else to try. Any new suggestions?

When I go into iCloud and tell it to find my iPhone, it says my iPhone is not connected to the Internet.
Last week when I thought I lost the phone, I put it into lost mode. The problem is I found the phone, but it never went into lost mode.
The phone is indeed connected to the Internet. I have been using it on both the home wifi and the Verizon LTE network. iCloud cannot seem to find it even though it is connected to the Internet.
Putting it into lost mode has never locked down the phone.
Location services are on, find my iphone is on....everything related I can possibly set to on has been set to on.

What do your mean by "the find my phone app was deleted" - deleted from the stolen phone? How do you know it was deleted. Besides, the Find My iPhone app is only used to track other devices, it does not turn on the Find My iPhone service. To do that you would have needed to go to Settings>icloud and then turn on that service by switching the slide to ON. If you didn't do that, then the Find My iPhone service will not help you.

I spoke with a genius at the montreal Apple Store, I asked about unlocks as I am moving to the states for work in the coming month. He mentioned that while carriers generally have to dot he unlocks they have unlocked international phones. My question is has anyone tried to dot his from Canada to the US. Also If you are still under warrenty and get a refurbished one in the US, at what point does it lock to your existing carrier. I was always confused as to how this works.Im sure there a lot of people who are wondering the same thing.

Unlock can be done only by original Carrier. You should get
this straightened out before leaving Canada. Warranty on your
iPhone is not international - if you need any repair or replacement,
you will have to return iPhone to Canada for this to be done.

HT1766 Can't get screen on iphone to work

I had plugged my iphone in to charge and came back a few minutes later. When I pushed the sleep/wake button to get online, the screen would not come up. It is just a black screen. But when I unplugged it and then plugged it back up it made the noise like it was charging. There is just nothing showing on the screen Can you help?

Try a hard reset. Press and hold the home button and the sleep/wake button at the same time until you see the Apple logo (about 7-10 seconds) At that point, allow the phone to turn on as normal. Make sure you leave the phone connected to power while trying this reset.

You don't need the Find My iPhone app. You need to turn on Find my iPod in Settings > iCloud on your iPod. Then to locate your iPod from your PC, go to https://icloud.com and follow instructions.

You can't set up Find My iPhone on a PC. You can only set it up on an iOS device or Mac (see http://help.apple.com/icloud/#mmfc0f0c67). You can, however, use Find My iPhone from your PC to track a device with Find My iPhone enabled on it by going to icloud.com, as explained here: http://help.apple.com/icloud/#mmfc0f2442.
Also, you can't sync your Windows XP computer with iCloud. iCloud requires Vista SP2 or higher (see http://www.apple.com/icloud/setup/pc.html).

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.

In the interest of privacy, I suggest that, before posting, you edit out the “Anonymous UUID,” a long string of letters, numbers, and dashes in the header of the report, if it’s present (it may not be.)
Please don’t post other kinds of diagnostic report—they're very long and rarely helpful.
