Can't get Fireworks to stop creating notes

All my Dreamweaver sites are set
not to keep *.MNO notes. But every time I export an image to
one of the folders in the site, it creates a note. If I delete them
all, the next export creates a new Notes folder. I've searched
through the Fireworks and DW documentation but can't find anything
for DW other than the Site setting, and can't find anything at all
for Fireworks. Can anyone help?
Another thing I can't seem to alter in Fireworks is that the
File Type in Optimise always defaults to PNG for a new file; I'm
working mostly with JPGs and have to change it manually every time
I create a new PNG. Is there somewhere I can change this default?
(I'm using DW8 and FW8 under Windows 2000 by the way.)

If you turn notes off, Fireworks and Dreamweaver will no
longer be able
to communicate with each other. You can cloak the notes (look
up
cloaking in the Dreamweaver help files) rather than uploading
them to
the server. However, if you still want to disable Design
Notes for your
site, in Dreamweaver choose Site > Manage Sites. The
Manage Sites dialog
box appears. Select your site, then click Edit. The Site
Definition
dialog box appears. Select Design Notes from the Category
list on the
left. The Site Definition dialog box displays the Design
Notes options.
Complete the dialog box. Click OK.

iPhoto works best when the source (Pictures folder) is on a different disk drive than the iPhoto Library is on.
And you need to have enough free disk space to work with, the faster the better.
Also, do not keep your media folders and those in your home folder on the same drive as the system, also another bottleneck.
Until or unless you have everything on 1400MB/sec SSD PCIe controller, you want
System boot drive
Media and data folders and such
scratch
backup
etc
I put iPhoto on an SSD off an SSD PCIe Sonnet Tempo card
If you stop- it, you will need to trash the Library it was creating.
Reading and writing to/from the same hard drive will be slow.
You don't mention which Mac, or how large you are trying to import etc

Take a look in Activity Monitor. See what the % being used for iPhoto, how many pageouts, how much free space on the various disk drives, and how much RAM do you have installed?

Remote app - constantly reconnecting, can't get it to stop

Any ideas?
I took the Remote app for a dry run, and everything worked fine - I really like it.
Next, I bought an Airport Express. I'm still working out problems, but that's another post in another area...
The problem now is, I can get iTunes playing through the AE to my stereo, but the Remote app is constantly reconnecting to iTunes. I can't get it to stop this procedure.
I hear music, and in the half second between reconnects, I can use the Remote app to advance to the next song. It reconnects all the time, though, every 5 seconds maybe, making browsing through playlists or albums impossible.
Also, I've tried the "Stay Connected" both on and off, but neither makes any difference.
Any ideas why this is happening?

Well - after reading through the abundant suggestions... not...
I've ditched the ad hoc network treatment, and switched to a wireless access point for my airport express. So far (this afternoon only), I am no longer having this problem.

Or better yet, create and use new Apple IDs for others in your household. You could always use different Apple IDs for iCloud services (like iMessage and FaceTime) and iTunes and App Store., but it's even easier to share purchased content now with Family Sharing.

There is only one thing that happens -- the Server does not respond.
Your mac concludes that you must have entered the wrong password. That may happen once, but then other issues become more likely, and it keeps asking for a new password.
Sometimes the Server is down for maintenance. Sometimes something is configured wrong. Some services do this on purpose to get you to use WebMail (pick up your Mail with your Browser) so they can show you some ads.

Try CTRL clicking (or right click) on the iPhoto dock icon and make sure "Open at Login" isn't checked.

I'm selecting that "my question has been answered" here - because the answer is NO. It's apparently not possible. Which is frakkin' ridiculous, and I'd love to be proven wrong. But that's how it appears to be.
What I ended up doing was first backing up all my data by downloading an app called DiskAid (free, Windows and OS X), and actually digging through my iPhone's folder system until I found the right Applications folder, and clicked through each subfolder until I found the Apps whose data I wanted to copy.
For anyone who ever needs to do that, the location is:
/user/Applications/[long string of numbers]/Documents
I was able to back up my apps on my home computer. So I still am not able to sync up any part of my phone at my work computer, without risking deleting these files. Basically I've minimized the possible damage by making backups.

You might be able to trick iMovie by temporarily moving that project folder out of the following location:
Mac HD > Users > (your home folder) > Movies > iMovie Projects > (look for the name of the project that blew-up)
Drag that project folder to the Desktop for the time being. Launch iMovie and see if it still tries to create the Project Thumbnails. If it gets past any error messages or other house keeping, you can create a new project. Otherwise, quit iMovie. Drag that project folder from the desktop BACK into your iMovie Projects folder. Try launching iMovie again and see if it gets stuck generating the Thumbnails.

Can't get my head around creating audio

It's all a bit too mathematic looking for me, and I should be ashamed of myself really as I can handle complicated music sequencers, but....I can't get my head around creating the files as detailed here:

I've already got video on my site which I converted and plays OK on a PC without quicktime, but my music MP3 files won't play on some PC's, so I was looking at the above as the solution. But I'm completely lost how to start?
Can someone run through the process from step 1, step 2 etc - I would be very grateful.

The stuff that I wrote in the section of iWeb for Musicians that you are referring to was meant as an introduction to HTML5 and how it will be used in the future. I will update it when time permits!
Right now, Safari, Chrome and Firefox support this although the last needs an OGG file which is a pain!. Internet Explorer, of course, hasn't even got around to HTML5 yet except in V 9 which is still beta as far as I know.
There seems to be at least half of PC users still sticking with IE Vs 6 & 7 so there's a long way to go before HTML5 is the king.
Flash is still the way to go to reach most viewers as QuickTime is far less popular and there are problems when you try to load more than two or three files onto a web page. Due to the fact that iOS does not support flash its a question of providing an alternative.
My, short term, solution is to provide a flash player on a page with a link to one for iOS users which has the files loaded as HTML5. The other alternative is to provide both as shown in the second example on this page.....

There are a number of solutions for video available which play them as flash and fallback to HTML5 or vice versa and I gave some examples of these and how they can be adapted to audio.

Something else you can try.
In Finder hold down the option/alt key while selecting the Go menu item. Select Library. Then go to Preferences/com.apple.finder.plist. Move the .plist to your desktop.
Restart and test. If it works okay, delete the plist from the desktop.
If the same, return the .plist to where you got it from, overwriting the newer ones.
If you want to make your user library permanently visible, run the below command in Applications/Terminal.
chflags nohidden ~/Library/
You will need to do that after any updates.
