Can't get flash drive to work consistently

I am having trouble getting my Buffalo RUF - C/U2 flash drive to work consistently with my iBook. Sometimes it magically connects, other times it doesn't. When it's connected, it works perfectly well. Getting it to work, though, is starting to drive me mad.
I've an iBook, running OSX 10.3.9. Processor 1.2 Ghz Power PC G4. Memory: 768 MB DDR SDRAM. There's about 20 Gb of free space.
I've tried to narrow down the cause of the problem, but with no luck. Re-booting and/or disabling the other USB port doesn't seem to make any difference - neither does attaching the device with the machine powered on or powered off. It seems to have a mind of its own.
Any advice?

It is just "VERY" annoying that i can't get it to work.
I found out something by going to www.adobe.com with my iphone 4.0 and search under flash
No wonder i could not figure out what was wrong, the reason for it is that Adobe and Apple is not
very good friends apparently. Or so i could understand, don't take my words for knowing this correctly.
I would still like to know a "date" for when it comes out, currently our whole firm is using Apple Iphone 4.0 cause its nice but, we would really like to be able to make some use of flash for the firm.... So we are thinking about changing our phones out for another model that might be able to do and run flash.

Flash is not supported on the iPad. There are some apps that take a flash video on a web page, send it to a server which converts it to a format suitable for the iPad, but these are somewhat iffy.

I can't get flash videos to work on Daily Show website (using either Safari or Firefox) - latest version of Adobe flash.... can anyone help??

Works with no problem on my MacBook Air. Since it is happening on both browsers on both of your computers, have you considered the possibility that it may be something to do with your router?

Can't get flash player to work!!

I have downloaded and installed Adobe flash player several times but I can't get it to work. every time I try to watch a video on youtube it says I need the upgraded version of flash player. I have version 11. I have went online and followed instructions on how to delete and reinstall but it still does not work!! I don't know what else to do!!!!!

Can't get IDE drive to work with K8N NEO2

I built my computer two months ago. The only hard drive I installed was a Samsung 160GB SATA. The Windows XP installation was flawless and the system has worked perfectly ever since.
This past week I decided to install my old Western Digital IDE hard drive. I connected it to PATA port 1 on the motherboard. It's jumpered as a Primary device and connected to the primary port on the IDE cable.
The problem is that when I boot the computer with the IDE drive connected it will hang on the gray Platinum screen for around 5 minutes. If I hit DEL and enter BIOS after 5 minutes I can see that the drive is detected and the boot order already was set for the SATA drive first and the IDE drive second. Then if I reboot it hangs on the Platinum screen again for five minutes. When it finally clears that I get messages indicating that no boot device is available. If I shut down, disconnect the IDE drive, and reboot with only the SATA drive connected it boots flawlessly.
I checked my device manager and see that the nvidia nforce3 250 Parallel ATA controller and Serial ATA controller drivers are installed.
Is there anything else I can check or do to get the computer to boot with an IDE drive connected?

WD drives are special compared to others .
If they are alone on the ide channel they shall not be jumpered as master .
This is only when it is sharing the channel with another ide/atapi device .
Instead the jumper shall be removed , they call it single drive jumpering (SD).
And the reason why bios get hung is :
It finds a master jumpered drive , and since it does it will try to detect the slave
but there isn't one .

I can't get Flash Player to work at all I need help PLEASE!!!

I have been trying for close to 1 week now to figure out how to get this flash player to work on both IE & Firefox and it's driving me crazy. I'm running a Windows 7 Home Premium Edition 64-bit not sure what other info you need but I'm here if you need more. I just want to get this fixed so hubby can play his games and I can play mine.

Games require not only the latest Flash Player, but the least Shockwave as well. I recommend a complete “clean install” for both.
Download the following by right clicking and selecting either "Save target as"(IE) or "Save Link As"(Firefox):
Shockwave Player Uninstaller
Flash Player Uninstaller
Flash Player for ActiveX (Internet Explorer)
Flash Player Plug-in (All other browsers)
Shockwave Player 12 FULL Installer (Other browsers)
Save the files - DO NOT RUN ANYTHING YET.
Reboot your system.
BEFORE opening anything, run the UNINSTALLERS to remove Shockwave and Flash Player,
Once they’ve finished, go to: C/Windows/System32 and delete the Macromed folder.
Go to: C/Windows/SysWOW64 and delete the Macromed folder.
Open your Registry Editor (Start>Run or press the Windows key + R and tope “regedit” [minus the quotes] and click OK)
In the Registry Editor, go to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE and delete the Macromedia folder.
Go to: HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software and delete the Macromedia folder there.
Close the Registry Editor and empty your Recycle Bin.
Run the Flash Player installers, and the Shockwave FULL installer for Firefox.
Lastly, using IE, visit: http://get.adobe.com/shockwave/otherversions/ to download and install the Shockwave FULL installer for ActiveX.

I can't get flash player to work!

After downloading it on more than one occasion i still can not get it to work, when i look for it on my pc, i can't find it :-s i've tried numerous links to try and solve this issue to no avail can anyone shed some light on this issues as i'm getting more and more frustraited by the day.

I have reported this issue to Apple as feedback, and I will be attempting to contact the WA courts site admin on Monday as well. I am enjoying some of the new features of Lion and hopeful this issue can get resolved soon. As systems continue development, it will have to be eventually.
Any additional observations, especially from tech-savvy folks, most welcome.

I can't get flash drive to open on my iMac

I poped a flash drive into a usb port on the back of my iMac 27 and nothing happened. I just put it on my windows pc and it opened right up. Wondering why it's not responding on iMac?

Did you format it for the Windows machine? Does it show up in Disk Utility? Is it a protected model?

Can't get USB drive to work in USB port on airport extreme

I just recently purchased a MacBook Pro and a airport extreme 110/100/1000. My first apple computer. I wanted to use the airport to connect a WD My Book hard drive and my printer so that the Mac and my windows computers would be able to access them.
As many have reported I had trouble making it work. I could not get the Mac to access the hard drive thru the airport although it would when hook up directly.
First Apple needs to say very clearly that the drive must be formatted FAT32. There is some disagreement whether the drive can be partitioned.
Anyway after spending hours trying to use my hard drive I started searching the internet. I found a program that could be downloaded on the WD website that would reformat the hard drive back to FAT32 from NTFS very quickly. After doing so, the hard drive mounted and worked perfectly and had over 232GB available (not 32 like it would be if formatted on a older Windows computer.
The drive must be FAT32 and will definitely work if not partitioned.
Apple really needs to have much better documentation on the whole process, especially for those like me who are PC guys and are not familiar with the terminology. Hope this helps.

Web Host can't get Flash Remoting to work

Please help this non-technical client get my website up,

I have had an application developed and my programmers have
utilized FlashRemoting.
I have seen the application working on one web host's testing
server, but we had to move it because of tech support issues.
This new host has told me that they've installed Flash
Remoting, but my programmers say it is not installed properly.
(The say it must be installed, not copied into wwwroot)
One very confusing issue is this:
1. A testing link using my domain name pointing to a
flashremoting sample does NOT work

2. The very same link only using my IP Address instead of my
domain name DOES work.

The programmers have opened a trouble ticket asking for the
.Net environment to be installed where the domain is hosted and to

Both sides are saying it isn't thier fault and I am stuck in
the middle with a website 2 months past deadline.
Does anyone have any ideas about what is going on, or at
least what 'side' I should harp on to get his fixed?
(...or as a last resort, can anyone tell me a REALLY good
host that supports Remoting? I'd hate to move again, but spinning
my wheels is getting me nowhere!)

Since you have talked about .NET I assume that you are using
.NET as
application layer.
If yes then yes you need get .NET framework installed before
you
attempt to install the Flash Remoting.
If your sample work from IP then I can say Remoting is
installed
properly if your IP is the same where the site domain points
to.
So if the IP and the Domain are the same box then problem is
not with
the installation rather I should be with Remoting licensing
issue you
got to buy the Remoting license to use that and I guess the
demo or
Developer license is being installed there.

Can't get flash buttons to work...'Cannot find path' Flash MX 2004

I am trying to get the flash buttons for my website to work, but every time I do the getURL thing it keeps saying 'Cannot find (directory)'. The website is offline and I'm using Macromedia Flash MX 2004, I also might be able to use Flash 8 but these are the only two versions I have access to.
The action script for the button is:

getURL("..\****\****\(Website directory)\(sub directory)\(Website page).html")
I am making the website in Dreamweaver 8 and this is really holding me back as it's nearly finished but the buttons still don't work.

Sorry I should have mentioned tha. The structure is as follows:
Website name\
                     \Animations
                     \Audio
                     \Buttons
                     \Images
                     \Scripts
                     \Templates
                     \Videos
The buttons are contained in the buttons folder and the page I want to link it to is in the templates folder. I have tried putting the button flash file in the website root directory and trying that but it didn't work.

I have done a fresh install of Arch, but am still using my previous /home partition.
I've installed mozplugger, Flash and Firefox, but the Flash plugin doesn't function.
Can anyone tell me how I can get around this?

I do not have any value in $MOZ_PLUGIN_PATH. Manually exporting from an xterm, and spawing firefox from the same xterm makes firefox realise I have plugins.
1) I have logged in/out, and rebooted multiple times after firefox's installation, and after flash installation
2) I do have, and am using bash(even to startx), /etc/profile _is_ being called. However /etc/profile does not have a $MOZ_PLUGIN_PATH variable set in it anywhere.
Is firefox package supposed to edit the /etc/profile to add this variable? Obviously setting the variable here is the solution, just curious now as to why it was a problem to begin with.

Argh can't get the driver to work!!!!!!!!!!

I've been working on this for the past 5 hours and I'm on the verge of playing base ball with the zen. I have a Zen Xtra. I tried loading the Play For Sure Firmware but the thing jammed. So I stopped and my player rebooted into the Rescue mode. I tried "Reload Os" and I tried to update the firmware. But the thing wont connect. Windows XP SP2 sees it but says it cannot install the driver. I installed all three drivers on the CD then installed the update from Creative...nothing. It won't install the driver...it keeps saying it's not connected?Now my player is OS less and I can't put a new one in...
