Can't get full desktop to project

I have a new macbook pro and have hooked it up to a projector. The background is projecting on the projector but I don't have access to the icons and can't run anything off of it. Is there a setting that I need to change or is my a/v adapter not the right one?

I've found this on the Ubuntu forum, which seems to be my issue. It doesn't matter what I set up in xorg.conf file, it ignores it.
It references a file called "kcmrandrrc", which doesn't seem to exist on my system. I am not sure where KDE is getting the 320x200, 320x240, 400x300,...,640x480, 800x600 and 1024x768 graphics modes. It's not from xorg.conf.

Then you put in the 1400x900 that you wanted in the Modes line.
If you are to use Xorg -configure successfully, you will need to do it from a console screen. If you are using like kdm or gdm, I would suggest that you log out, then go to a console screen (<ctrl><alt><f1>) and then log in to an account. You will need to su, and then issue the following command to shut down x: telinit 3 that command should shut down X and your login manager.
After that you can run Xorg -configure and do whatever else you need with it.
Then, to get back to what you had before, the command telinit 5 should restore you back to your gdm or kdm or whatever. (Normally <Ctrl><Alt><F7> will get you back to your login manager, if it doesn't try F6 or F8 until you find it.)

Photoshop is a huge program with a pretty steep learning curve. I would look at your local library or bookstore for a book for your particular version of Photoshop.
Adobe Classroom in a Book is a good starting point.
I also like books by Deke McClelland, Scott Kelby and Ben Willmore.
You may also want to look at signing up at Lynda.com to access their vast video tutorial library (I believe it is $25 USD/month.)

How can I get Full PDF file in temporary Internet Files folder when a PDF is opened in IE?

when a URL displaying a PDF file(http://www.google.com/Test.pdf) in internet explorer is done, the PDF file is opened in Microsoft internet explorer itself. But I observe one thing. i.e., If the PDF file is created with acrobat distiller the the PDF file opened on IE is fully obtained in Temporary Internet files, and if the PDF file is created with other than acrobat distiller(i.e., created using other PDF tools), then if the same file, then only a part of PDF(10KB-50KB) is obtained in Temporary internet files folder, and remaining is obtained by Acrxxxx.tmp in C:\Documents and Settings\Current UserName\Local Settings\temp folder. why this is happening?

Yes, I was seeing the difference between PDFs that are linearized. I had unchecked that option, still I can't get the Full PDF in temporary Internet files folder.

Can't Get Full Screen Album Artwork On My Computer Anymore When Playing Itunes

It worked until recently, then all of a sudden the full screen option was greyed out. Oddly enough, sometimes full screen comes up arbitrarily right after a video plays and it switches back to music but then disappears again if I close Itunes and then re-open it. Why did this disappear and can I get it back?

- Try triple clicking the home button and unlocking the iPod and try going to Settings>General>Accessibility and turn VoiceOver off. You may have to use three fingers to scroll the screen to get there.
- Last, pace the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.
If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.

MacBook won't start up, can't get to desktop

My MacBook 2.16 Intel Core Duo running 10.5.6 will no longer start up. All I get is the Apple logo with the spinning gearwheel, and that's as far as it gets. The wheel spins forever, so I just have to shut the computer off.
If I put the 10.5 installer disk into the disk drive, and start up holding down the C key, the computer will start up into the installer disk, and its Disk Utility can see and identify my hard drive (about 100 GB in size), but the Repair Disk and Verify Disk buttons are grayed out. If I quit Disk Utility and choose Startup Disk, my internal hard drive is not shown as a possible startup disk.
I would like to be able to start up to my desktop and take off some files on the hard drive that were not backed up, but I can't get to the desktop.
Can anyone give me any ideas what might be wrong, or how I might be able to get to my desktop?

Thanks much, Carolyn! I had forgotten about Safe Mode and all that, but I have Pogue's book, "Mac OS X Leopard Edition," and it explained how to do it. So I booted the computer into Safe Mode and did the fsck -y business, with the result that the computer went through a long routine of self-checking and repairing, and when it was done, everything was back to normal, and the Mac now starts up normally again! As soon as I got the desktop, I quickly backed up everything valuable onto an external drive, which I should have done before this happened, but I tend to forget. I need to get Time Machine going, I guess.
Well, I don't know what cause this problem, but whatever it was, it's fixed, and thanks again for the help!

Can't get full screen in QT 7 Pro

I cannot get true full screen in QT 7 Pro in Panther on my 15" PB. I select full screen and select present movie but still get top menu (and dock but I can hide that). Full screen is selected in preferences too.
Any ideas.
ETA - Okay now I see I just can't get rid of the menu bar when I have my projector hooked up to the PB. What's up with that?

Most movies are 4:3 aspect and your Powerbook screen is not.
Try Command-3 (while in full screen mode) when the file is opened as it will maximize to your screen height.
Square pegs won't fit into a round hole. You should have learned that with Playskool toys.

Can't get to desktop and can't switch it off anymore

Hello, all of a sudden my I-phone stays in the phone mode and I can't get it back to the main menu. I can't either switch it off. Does anyone know what's happening and how to solve this?

I dont know whats happened but...
I'd try plugging it into your PC and see if itunes recognises it, from there maybe try a sync of some stuff; or if that doesnt work try a restore.
Failing that, wait until the battery runs out, watching a film whilst using the internal speaks on full is a good way to burn through the juice, and see how it behaves after fully charging.
Do the buttons work at all? Can you tell us what FW your running?

Can't get full menu bar only get chevron

I installed PSE7 and removed PSE6. When I load the Organizer, instead of the full menu bar (File/Edit/Find/View/Window/Help) all I get is a sideway chevron. I can click onthe chevron and get a dropdown of the menu but how can I get the full menu to show onthe menu bar? In the Editor, the menu bar shows fine.

To add to Barbara's perspective: More and more computers are shipping with high-resolution/small dot-pitch displays with the DPI (dots per inch) preconfigured to 120, and dropping the DPI to 96 makes other applications pretty hard to read. Combined with their insistence on using low-contrast grey elements in the user interface, PSE can be tough to use by those of us with aging eyes.
Microsoft's user-interface guidelines specify that programs should support DPI's of 96 and 120:

Can I get full resolution images on my iPhone?

I was wondering if there's a way to get full resolution images on my iPhone, because everything that I synched get's blury when you zoom in. I know that the images on my computer are big enough, because on of the smaller ones is 1024x1578.

Can't get CC Desktop to install

This all started when I was trying to update the required up to my already installed CC Desktop. I hit update and it just never got past 2%. Then I did some searching through the forums and decided to uninstall all CC related things on my computer and do a fresh install. Now I'm trying to install the CC desktop app and it gets hung up about 1/4 of the way through and does nothing. No errors. No nothing. Just sits there. If I try to cancel the install it ask me "if i'm sure" and when I say yes it never goes away.
I'm not sure what to do at this point. Please help as I need to be working on projects.

Okay so I fixed this issue and how I fixed it isn't in the forums as far as I know. I can't guarantee this is what fixed the issue but I had tired EVERYTHING the forums and Adobe chat rep suggested and this was the only thing that worked. Just in case anyone else is having this issue here is how I fixed it.
I ended up talking to someone from Adobe Chat and they had me try several solutions I had already tried. I've tried it all at this point. So the rep ended up giving me a direct link to Adobe Application Manager and said that would fix it. They sounded(typed) confident. The problem is I had to end my chat with him(or her) in order to try to install this fix. So I restarted, double-clicked on install and... same issue. Gets hung at "downloading" and won't let me force quit. I wasn't even able to get it to force quit via the activity monitor. Needless to say I was back at square one with no answers. Then I notice I wasn't able to sign into the App Store. Same king of issue....gets hung, rinse and repeat. Could these issues be related?. Maybe? I'll try anything at this point. So I started looking into fixes for when you can't "sign into the App Store" and came across this link. OS X: "Cannot connect" or "Cannot connect to the App Store. An internet connection is required" - Apple Support I went through the list and nothing was working. That is until I got down to "Invalid or incorrect certificates". What that means. So I dropped those two cache files in the trash(like it says to), restarted my machine and boom goes the dynamite! Worked like a charm.
I had CC up and installing Photoshop in minutes. Again, I don't think this is common so I wanted to help out if anyone else is having issues.
