Can't get iCal notes to sync to my iPhone

The calendar syncs, but only the date, time, and title show up in the iPhone calendar; I can't access any of the notes.
Mac: OS10.75
iPhone4, updated software
Thanks,
Doug

  • How can I get iCal alarm to sync with my iPhone 4?

My iCal alarm won't sync with my iPhone 4 if I add the event using iCal on my Mac. I find that if I set an alarm on iCal, I only get an alert on my computer. If I add an event on my iPhone, I get a pop up alarm on both the phone and the computer. I want to be able to add an event on my computer and get an alert on both devices. Is this option even possible?

Turn up the alert volume all the way in Sounds.   Lock it so you can't change it with the buttons.

  • How can I get iCal not to show the same birthday dates from my iCloud

How can I get iCal not to show the same birthday dates from my iCloud?

You don't need them stored locally for a backup. You can manually export your contacts as archive for backup. Also, if you are backing up with Time Machine, you already have a backup. If your hard drive crashed, you would have to rely on your backup or iCloud anyway.
So, if you're comfortable with that, sign out of iCloud. Choose to delete contacts from the computer. When you sign back into iCloud, you should only have iCloud contacts listed in AB. When you open iCal, you should only have one listing for birthdays.
The other alternative is to disable the Birthday c.alendar and create one manually.

  • OS4-Can't get my notes to sync after original update.

I updated to IO4 yesterday, and all of my notes remained both on the Iphone and in my Imail program on my Imac. But today I added two notes to my Iphone (3G) and they don't sync back up to the computer. I have checked and unchecked and checked again the square next to sync notes, I even restarted both the computer and the Iphone, but to no avail.
Any pointers on how to get my most recent notes from Iphone back to Imac?
    thanks

problem solved at my end - three things:
    1. after iOS 4.0 installation, my previous default eMail account was changed
===> set it to the right one on iPhone: Setting --> Mail, Contacts,
Calenders --> Mail --> Default Account
An now I am not sure which setting actaully caused the notes to sync correctly again, but I changed two other settings:
    2. Setting --> Mail, Contacts, Calenders --> Notes: checked "On My iPhone"
    3. Setting --> Mail, Contacts, Calenders --> Accounts: turned off "Notes" of IMAP accounts (have 10 different mail accounts, some IMAP, some POP)
After step 3., the option in "Notes" described in step 2. was no longer available since all notes connected to IMAP were disabled, hence, I guess if step 3. is done step 2. becomes obsolete.
SUMMARY: guess the whole notes sync problem was related to IMAP notes settings who have a default setting which prevents the correct computer-to-iPhone sync when updating to iOS 4.0
hope it helped you guys as well...

  • How to setup a specific calendar in iCal not to sync events from iphone S to other apple devices?

In iCal, multiple calendars can be setup.  For example,  I have 3 different calendars in iCal.  I would like the events in calendar 1 and 2 to b synced with my Mac Pro, iPhone S and iPad. I do not want the events in calendar 3 to be synced from my iPhone S to the Mac Pro and iPad. How can this be set up?

    Hi ChrisJC,
To get the specific calendar folder (non-default folder), please refer to this code below:
    Dim oNS As Outlook.NameSpace
    Dim MyItemsFolder As Outlook.MAPIFolder
    Dim myAppoint As Outlook.AppointmentItem
    Set oNS = oApp.GetNamespace("MAPI")
    Set MyItemsFolder = oNS.Folders("[email protected]").Folders.Item("Calendar")
Then you could add appointment item by using
    Items.Add method.
    Set myAppoint = MyItemsFolder.Items.Add(olAppointmentItem)
    Regards
    Starain

  • A few months ago when I switched over to icloud from mobile me I set up my icloud with a new email address and now I can't get my calendars to sync with my iphone.  I can't cancel either account-the icloud or mobile me.

Please help!  I have two separate email addresses -my old mobile me and the new icloud and now nothing is syncing with my iphone.  I'm not sure how to get everything back to syncing the way it was before I changed everything over to icloud.

If you really did migrate from MobileMe to iCloud, you would have the same address as before.
It sounds as though you didn't actually migrate from MobileMe to iCloud, you just started up a brand new iCloud account.
You won't be able to access MobileMe now. If you failed to move everything over to iCloud properly, then all the data and the account has been deleted as Apple said it would at the end of July.
To get everything to sync, you need to make sure all your devices and computers are logged into the same iCloud account. Possibly what has happened is some are still using the old (now deleted) MobileMe account and some are using the new iCloud account.

  • Can't get rid of non-syncing playlists on iPhone!

My iPhone has playlists that aren't even selected for syncing in iTunes, and I can't figure out how to get them off the iPhone. I even deleted all the music from my iPhone, and then reinstalled my regular iPhone playlist to bring back my music, but that didn't get rid of these other playlists that I don't even have selected for sync.
Anyone have a fix for this?
    Thanks!

I did finally solve this problem. As best I can remember it, it only happens with "Smart Playlists".
So what you do is add a filter for each playlist you have the problem with: Kind = Audio (or maybe it's "Music").
Anyway, that worked. I was then able to stop these from syncing to the iPhone. And then delete them!
There's a thread on this somewhere here.

  • How do I get my notes to sync between my iPhone and the Notes App on my Mac?

I recently upgraded to the new OS 10.9.1  and I understand that without warning us, Apple has decided to remove notes from Mail and make it a separate App. That's fine,  but none of the notes on my iPhone are showing up in the Notes app. I have tried creating a new note in the Notes app, but none of my notes seem to be syncing in either direction. This is a HUGE annoyance as I am constantly putting together memos and lists on my computer that I need to be able to view on my phone later or vice versa. How do I get my two Notes apps to sync with each other?

Ok, I signed out from iCloud and it told me that it removed all the data from my computer. I signed then back in and made sure to recheck the box to sync Notes and still the same problem. It has been over an hour and still none of the notes that are still on my phone have shown up in the Notes app on my Mac. The test note I created in the Notes app on my app is not showing up on my phone either. Furthermore, when I click on the Notes app it is still telling me that this computer can't connect to iCloud because of a problem with [email protected] .

  • I can't get my music to sync on my iPhone.

So the other day, I download some music off the internet with the intention of putting it on iTunes so I could put it onto my iPhone. After putting them on iTunes, I went to sync my phone. When it synced, it looked like it was sucessful and went through fully but the songs were still not on my phone. I then messed around trying to get it and somehow, half of my music got deleted off of my phone. Now, nothing is syncing onto my phone. Again, when I try syncing, it goes through fine and seems succesful. Even at the bottom where it shows that bar that shows your data usage, it says that all of my music was transfered cos of the bar is filled with music and when I put my mouse on it, it says that all of the songs were synced. But that isn't true. Out of 1017 songs, I only have 427 of them. I know there is plenty of ample space for music so that isn't the problem. I also noticed that if I go to the iTunes Store on my phone and go to my purchased music, a lot of the songs are missing there too so I can't redownload anything back onto my phone that isn't already there. I know I've purchased many more songs and they all show up on iTunes but my phone has no record of them at all and isn't letting me sync. I first tried deleting all music off of my phone and syncing then but that only put on the songs that my phone actually had records of purchasing. I've tried so many different things but nothing is working, and I'm getting really frustrated.

    Have you tried File>Transfer Purchases

  • How can i get my music to sync to my iPhone?  all my music is saving into the cloud

i upgraded to iOS 8 on an Iphone 5s (from a 4s) and an iPad air and almost all of my music is now stored in the cloud, not on the device.   All iCloud settings are turned off.  I have one more 5s to upgrade (again, from a 4s).  How can i upgrade and keep all my music on the phone, not in the cloud.     I lost over 500 songs when I upgraded the iPad air.

I have a similar problem with my iPhone 5. I sync my music but I cannot find them in the Music app, although I can see for storage usage that they have been loaded to the iPhone. I have tryed different sync options, but nothing works. Cannot hear my musics on my iPhone anymore :-(

  • I can't get my music to sync to my iPhone from my macbook.

I recently got a macbook. I used homesharing to transfer my music from my old pc. But now I can't sync music onto my iphone from my macbook. I have to transfer my new music to my pc and sync it from my pc. I've tried selecting and dragging my music to my iphone and making a new playlist and selecting and dragging the playlist. But nothing works. I can't really use my pc because the fan is broke and it over heats. So I don't like getting on it in fear that it will completely break before I get a chance to transfer the rest of my stuff. Any suggestions for the music?
