Can't get into my windows vista!

I just got a windows vista from one of my family members and they don't remember the password to their account profile. Like when you turn it on and it goes the different profiles? Well there are two and you can't get on with out those passwords. Soo my question is how do I restore the computer to factory settings because I can't even get passed the log in part and can't use the computer...
This question was solved.

Hi,
See the guide on the following link regarding resetting your PC to its 'Factory Condition' - probably the best option in your case ( assuming the Recovery partition on the hard drive is Ok ) is to follow the procedure under the sub-heading Starting the recovery from the hard drive and the computer is off,

  • Can't get into the Windows Installer

So, now I'm trying to boot into the Windows installer after partitioning my drive with Bootcamp Assistant. I've used this same Windows XP CD on another Intel computer in the past, as well as a real PC without any problems. However, on my Macbook Pro is just hangs right after rebooting. I have tried removing and adding the Windows partition about 4 times now, using both Disk Utility and BootCamp Assistant to no avail. I have also tried repairing permissions using Onyx. Please, any help would be GREATLY appreciated (I would even be OK with reformatting the whole **** drive destructively if need be).

I managed to get past the cursor by chance it seems, however after the initial copying of files before installation I get an error about a missing file which I know is not missing. I give up, Im going to try a complete reformat and attempt it again

  • HT202213 I'm trying to set up "Home sharing" but i can not get into my old computer because of a virus. The old has Vista and an older version of iTunes. The new has Windows 7. Also this is my sons computer however I have made a new user account for me. H

    I Have 2 issues;
    1.  I can't transfer my iTunes library from my old computer which I can't get into due to a virus. I'm trying to transfer my iTunes folder to my sons computer in which I now have a user account. Old is Vista and new is Windows 7. Therefore home sharing is impossible, right?  Wrong?
    2.  I found my purchases from iTunes on my iPhone 4S. I can't seem to download them. There is no button to tap "download".  Also, I'm unable to sync to iTunes because my phones default is to sync to my old computer which will not open!

Contact Apple customer support, they can reset your authorizations.

Take a look at Apple's document for authorizations -> iTunes Store: About authorization and deauthorization.
You can deauthorize all computers from iTunes. All you have to do is click iTunes Store, click your account name in the upper right corner of iTunes, then deauthorize all.

  • "Windows created a temporary paging file on your computer" - can't get into windows partition

Recently, I have not been able to get into my Windows partition.  I've been getting this message: [windows created a temporary paging file on your computer...].  Now, after several tries, I can't get in at all - the screen remains black after I start Win.
So, to go into detail (if this helps at all..)
    - First, I got his message when I booted through Windows - [windows created a temporary paging file on your computer...]  If I press OK, it would take me into my windows screen, but my mouse nor my keyboard will work (I have tried my apple keyboard/mouse and my Samsung ones.. neither works).  I've read that this could be fixed by cleaning up windows to create space - but nothing will allow me to perform any commands...
    - After several tries, the black screen with the Safe Mode option appeared - same results
    - After several attempts to getting into the Safe Mode option, or the regular option - now I get two options : 1. Start windows normally, AND 2. A recommended option that says it will fix whatever is not letting Windows open.  The two options lead me to either a stuck screen of the windows loading image, or just a plain black screen.
Is there a fix to this?  I'm sorry if the answer is out there, but I just couldn't find anything.
Would the only option be to uninstall windows? - and how would I do that...??
    Please help!! Thank you!

how much size did you give windows?
sounds like it dont have enough space on it's parition to make it's page file

  • Can a mac get into a windows network?

I want to get the new black macbook. But I was wondering, can it get into a lynxis network that I use for my windows computer?
      Windows XP Pro

Yes, and it connects 10 times easier than any Windows based PC I have dealt with. As soon as you turn on your MacBook it will search for wireless networks (presuming you use wireless) and it connect straight up.

Can't do anything suggested by everyone for this error because of the error.  Cannot change user account type, run any programs to fix it because it won't let me.  Can't get into services, account user change, nothing.  Downloads will not
work from MSN or anywhere else.  Can't download MSN fixes, won't download.
It won't even let me in to do a factory restore.

  • Can't get into the Itunes Store?????

Error Said: We can not complete your itunes store request. An unknown error had occurred (0x800B0101).
What does this mean? I just got itunes for the first time on this computer and my first Ipod. I can't get into the store at all! I have windows Vista home basic.

I've got this as well and it seems to have affected only the Music and Home pages - do a search in the search bar and you will get to the films etc. Looks like somone goofed! If anyone from Apple checks this out, mine is the UK store. Home page and Music pages only affected.

Try holding down the Shift key in Windows when opening iTunes. In the resulting dialogue you will get the option to create a new library or navigate to an existing one. The default location for your iTunes library is in C:\Documents and Settings\Username\My Documents\My Music\iTunes\ (or C:\Username\Music\iTunes\ in Vista). Look in there and see if you have more than one library file (they have the extension .itl) If you have more than one try opening them in turn, you may find your original library is still intact: How to open an alternate iTunes Library file

  • I have a macbook pro version 10.7.5 and my mailbox will not open at all and comes up with a quit message even though it is not open. how can i get into my account. it works on my iPhone an i have internet and all other functions working on my computer

I have a macbook pro version 10.7.5 and my mailbox will not open at all and comes up with a quit message even though it is not open. how can i get into my account. it works on my iPhone and i have internet and all other functions working on my computer

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
    Step 1
Make sure the title of the Console window is All Messages. If it isn't, select All Messages from the SYSTEM LOG QUERIES menu on the left. If you don't see that menu, select
    View ▹ Show Log List
    from the menu bar.
Enter the name of the crashed application or process in the Filter text field. Select the messages from the time of the last crash, if any. Copy them to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message by pressing command-V.
When posting a log extract, be selective. In most cases, a few dozen lines are more than enough.
Please do not indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.
Important: Some private information, such as your name, may appear in the log. Anonymize before posting.
    Step 2
In the Console window, look under User Diagnostic Reports (not "Diagnostic and Usage Messages") for crash reports related to the crashed process. The report name starts with the name of the process, and ends with ".crash". Select the most recent report and post the entire contents—the text, not a screenshot. I know the report is long. Please post all of it anyway.
In the interest of privacy, I suggest that, before posting, you edit out the “Anonymous UUID,” a long string of letters, numbers, and dashes in the header of the report, if it’s present (it may not be.)
Please don’t post other kinds of diagnostic report—they're very long and rarely helpful.

  • Windows Easy Transfer can't transfer files from Windows Vista or Windows XP

I'm running a English Windows Vista Ultimate and just bought a
ENGLISH Windows 8.1. I've downloaded the WET for Windows vista and tried to complete the second portion of the transfer by specifying the saved .MIG file WET created. Then I got the error message: "Windows Easy Transfer can't transfer
files from Windows Vista or Windows XP".
The truth is, Microsoft was too busy integrating special effects to it's operating system and claimed it as fully polished instead of making sure built-in tools were worth using.
Another harsh reality is that THERE IS NO WAY TO TRANSFER a file from Windows Vista to Windows 8. That's because engineers didn't even bother to make that possibility happen. Just Google: "Transfer from windows vista to windows 8" and you'll see
there are no relevant Microsoft web page about this.
Worse, Microsoft is giving excuses. To solve this issues, they came with a toolbox of fake scenarios in order to confuse clients even further, while they know damn well the Windows Easy Transfer is NOT EASY and certainly in multiple cases
DOES NOT TRANSFER jack to begin with.

    I somewhat agree with you.
Trying to transfer from 7 to 8.1 and although it looks like the "7" side of the equation is working, the "8" side isn't.
"7" is trying to connect to "8" but "8.1" is being just plain stupid.
Not even sure why the MIG file step is even necessary if all I want to do is transfer one file between two machines.  Said file is really BIG, or i'd just use my network, and the "8.1" rig doesn't have a dvd reader...
Per the MIG step... my file again, is big... I'd need to "mig" this file just to send it? Can't even get to the step where I'd mig-it and if i did, how long would that take?
So this is what progress is all about... geez... gimmie a NULL MODEM CABLE !!!

  • How can I get rid of windows 8.1 in my new lenovo and get windows 7 put in?

How can I get rid of Windows 8.1 on my new Lenovo laptop and install Windows 7?

    Hi,
I'll assume your laptop was upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 8.1
    1. Start by copying all your personal folders (Documents, Pictures, Music, Videos, Favourites, local databases,
hosts files, etc) into an external disk, DVD, tape, whatever.
    2. If I were you, I wouldn't use Windows 8.1 backup tool, I'm not sure Windows 7 Restore applet will be able
to read a Windows 8.1 backup.
    3. Check that you have all the necessary licenses, CDs and executables to reinstall your former Windows 7
applications, components, browsers, plugins, Java, .NET Frameworks, etc. Be aware that some applications require
to keep same hostname and/or same IP and/or or same local username (or all of them) as they were on the original
    Windows 7 machine.
    4. Check that you have your Windows 7 CD and license handy.
    5. Do you have a Windows 7 image backup of your laptop (prior to the Windows 8 upgrade)?
5.a Yes? Then restore that image and restore your personal folders on top. You might need to
install or reinstall some of the applications I mentioned on #3
5.b No? You'll have to format your laptop, install Windows 7 from scratch, create your local
user with administrative rights, install SP1, install necessary updates, reinstall all your
applications and finally restore your personal folders.
