Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

    For how to restore:
    iTunes: Restoring iOS software
    To restore from backup see:
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.
You can redownload most iTunes purchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
If problem what happens or does not happen and when in the instructions? When you successfully get the iPod in recovery mode and connect to computer iTunes should say it found an iPod in recovery mode.

Can't get iphone to connect to itunes...went through all 7 steps on this site....any advice

It has just occurred to me to ask what seems like a dumb question, when it says to plug in, that does mean plug into electric power, not your iMac, right?

  • Can't get past the connect to iTunes screen, no computer available

I downloaded the new apple software onto my iPad 2 then went on holiday. No problems until I turned it off so we wouldn't be disturbed by any nocturnal bleeps. On turning it back on the screen shows a USB and says connect to iTunes. Unfortunately my computer is in a distant country. I tried for Apple help but on iPad not starting up it tells you to look in settings for your iPad no. Not so useful when it won't start! Can anybody help or am I stuck with a useless iPad for a few weeks? Thanks....

No ideas anybody? I'll try and get to an apple shop tomorrow. Don't know if I can co next to another mac or whether this will wipe the iPad

  • Can't get iPod to sync with iTunes

I managed to back-up all my music from my ipod onto my harddrive and upload it into iTunes. Now I have the problem of syncing iTunes with my iPod!
I have Windows 8 a 5th Gen Nano that is at least 4 years old.
I can plug my ipod into the computer and it instantly recognises it on the E drive. As soon as I open iTunes I get a message and the E drive disappears as if I had never plugged in the iPod. I have installed and re-installed iTunes and rebooted my laptop. The message says an iPod has been detected but not identified properly (there is a ! in a triangle).
What do I do to rectify this issue?

Thanks I found this on the discussion board. It solved the problem. I can't find the original source anyway this below explanation did the trick. It was a file that I needed to install and this did the trick.
    Open File Explorer, go to:
    C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\Drivers
    Afterwards, look for the file
    “usbappl64.???“
It'll be the one labelled as "Setup Information"
    Right click the file.
Click install. It should only take about a minute. Afterwards it'll say that it was successful.
Restart your computer, and your iPod should sync as normal.

  • HT3576 How can I get rid of "Connect to itunes to use push notifications" pop-ups.  I just had to replace my iPhone 5 and when I did a restore from backup, most of my apps will not let me in becuase I cannot get past the"connect to itunes..." message.

My iPhone 5 was distroyed so I replaced it with a new iPhone 5 yesterday.  I did a restore from a backup that i had performed a week ago.  When I tried to use the phone several of my apps would not let me in becuase they continually gave me a popup message "Connect to Itunes to use push notifications".  I click ok and the popup comes back.  I have shut my phone off several times.  I have complete closed the apps several times.  I have even deleted the apps from my phone and reinstalled.  All to no avail.  Please help - does anyone know how to fix this?

Yes - I connected my phone to my computer / Itunes and went into the apps section, but from there I have no idea how to manage the push notifications.  I even tryied going into itunes that is installed on my phone.  I still cannot find anyplace to manage these popups.  I have also gone into settings - notifiations - and tried turning all notifications for these apps all off but that didnt work either.  Any guidance is MUCH appreciated - Im not sure where to go from here.

  • Can't get past the "Connect to iTunes screen."

So, earlier today I found my old iPhone 4. (Currently an iPhone 5 user) I connected it to my computer and attempted to update it to 1.6.3 (iTunes prompted to me to do so) - anyways, the ISPW downloaded and began installing. About half way through I got an error message, "iTunes encountered a problem" (I don't remember the exact wording)
Anyways, my iPhone is stuck on the "Connect to iTunes" screen, I did what apple reccommended and tried to enter recoverey/DFU mode, but, everytime it just goes back to the "Connect to iTunes" screen. I've tried several times and nothing works.
(yes, I am using the latest version of iTunes)

  • Can't get iPod to connect to the internet

Ipod shows wifi connections, but with not bring up internet.

Does the iPod connect to other networks?
Does the iPod see the network?
    Any error messages?
    Do other devices now connect?
    Did the iPod connect before?
Try the following to rule out a software problem:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Power off and then back on the router
    - Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
    - iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
    - Wi-Fi: Unable to connect to an 802.11n Wi-Fi network
    - iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

  • HT5957 Can't get iPhone to connect to Itunes properly.  Can't get my network WiFi up and running again with my fixed I-4.

I cannot get my WiFi running again after I fixed my iPhone 4S at the Apple Store.  I have downloaded a newer version for Itunes but I cannot get the icon for syncing highlighted.  My password is correct and my router is working.

Yes, it is possible, though you need to have SIM card which no longer use.

  • Activated my new 5s but I can't get it to connect to iTunes. My computer recognizes it but iTunes will not

I've tried just about every thread on here and nothing works. I use windows 8.

    See this support document. http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1538
If this does not work, you will need to remove iTunes completely by the instructions in this support document http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923 and then reinstall it. Try the first one I supplied first.

  • How do I get past the "Connect to iTunes" part of my updated iPod touch?

I updated my iPod touch to the new iOS 5 software. I did all the steps and selected 'Restore from iTunes Backup'. The next screen said 'Connect to iTunes'. I did that and it synced. However, it still says "Connect to iTunes". I ran the iTunes diagnostics and it said that it did sync and there is about half a gig of data on my iPod touch. But I still can't get past the "Connect to iTunes" screen. I even updated iTunes itself, but it still won't work. What do I do to get my iPod back? Surely I don't have to spend $30 plus to get all my apps and songs back. What can I do?
    Help!
    Thanks,
    skiracer204

    - Are yu sayin that you keep restoring the iPod but it just keeps telling you restore it again? If so then this sounds like your problem:
Restore loop (being prompted to restore again after a restore successfully completes): This issue is typically caused by out-of-date or incorrectly configured third-party security software. Please followTroubleshooting security software issues if USB troubleshooting does not resolve this issue.
