We have followed the trouble shooting pages suggestions - uninstalling & reinstalling iTunes 10.1.1 but still no joy getting new iPod touch 64GB version to appear in iTunes ? If you can help with any advice please

Try this, go to your devices and printers, and see if the ipod is showing there, right click on it and go to prefences or wherever you can see if the driver has been installed correctly. I had the same problem and when i looked and re installed the driver, my computer made a click and it was working perfectly. Hope this helps.

Can't get ipod touch to sync manually!

I have a new 16 gig ipod touch, which I'd like to sync with content on both my home and work computers. I have an iMac G5 at home (running 10.5) and a Macbook at work (running 10.4.10). I also have the latest version of itunes on both machines.
I've synced with all of my music from my HOME computer, but when I try to sync with just the video content from my WORK computer (I have 2 season's worth of The Office that I bought from the itunes store on it!), I get a message that "All existing songs, movies and TV shows will be removed from your ipod and replaced with TV shows from your iTunes library." I can't seem to get it to manually update any content, even with the "Manually Manage Music and Videos" box checked!
What gives? Thanks in advance for any help...

Someone correct me if I am wrong... But I believe you can only have one computer as the "Home" for an iPod (touch or otherwise).
If you want to get the videos off of your work computer, I would burn them on a CD (or if you have a portable HDD.. copy them there) then copy them to your home computer add them to your library on your home computer iTunes and sync.

How can I get iPod touch with IOS5 to sort by song artist and not album artist?

Since updating to IOS5 many song artist are missing. I set up iTunes to sort on song artist but when I sync, my ipod tyrs to sort by album artist not song artist. How can I get the ipod touch to sort by song artist???? Most of my Song artists show up under Various which is the entry for album artist. Please help! I have aver 9000 songs with this problem. If I can't solve this issue, I will have to return to using my Toshiba Gigabeat which allows me to sort be album artist. IOS-5 was a step backwards.

Help?? Can't get iPod Touch to play in my 2013 Nissan Sentra

I have a 16GB iPod Touch, model MB531LL, and I cannot get it to play in my new 2013 Nissan Sentra. All of the iPod Touch contents show up on the dashboard display, but no sound comes through the stereo. When I plug my iPhone into the car it plays (although strange things happen sometimes, like podcasts initially playing at double chipmunk-sounding speed), but not the iPod Touch. Has anybody experienced a similar situation & found a way to fix it?? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Wifi Problem - can't get iPod Touch to connect to Internet

I've seen lots of posts and discussions around this issue but cannot seem to nail down a solution. I have no security or encryption whatsoever with my wireless router & network. Other devices can connect wirelessly with no problem but my iPod Touch, although it shows that it is connected to my wireless network with all the proper DNS settings, it cannot access the internet. Of course, none of the wifi-based apps will work as a result.
Based on what I've deduced so far, I think the issue is that my brand new iPod Touch does not like my older Linksys WRK54G wireless router. That said, my brother's newer iPhone picked up my wireless network fine recently??
Does anyone have any advice? Thanks.

I have read all the posts and did all the numerous solutions/suggestions for 2 days now and what worked for me is this:
I went to Dlink online and went to Wireless connection settings to change the SSID name as if I am using my router for the first time, then changed it to WPA 20 characters! then saved the settings. Do this on the original PC (in my case, a desktop linked to the router via Ethernet cable as I have 2 laptops running
from that router as well. Note, before doing the "Save the settings"
above, I reset the Dlink router (by putting a pin at the back of the unit,
then turning it off and on including my separate Netcomm modem.
You then go back to your Ipod touch/ Settings and Choose the new Network Name.GOOD LUCK.

How can I get ipod touch to update software after being reset?

I recently reset my ipod touch so I could sell it. It seemed to reset fine but now will not allow any software updates. It currently has 2.1 and gives an error message when trying to update saying there is a hardware problem.

The problem is, for some reason, iTunes won’t install the Apple Mobile Device software or service. Even if you extract out the AMDS installation files, it still fails. The SOLUTION is to take the software and service from Vista for AMDS and manually install it. Then, it will work!
First of all, make sure you have the latest version of iTunes installed. You can download it from here. These instructions will NOT work for iTunes 8 or 9 anymore. If you’re unsure, just uninstall iTunes then re-install with the latest files. If you want to keep iTunes 9 and don’t want to upgrade to iTunes 9, let me know in the comments and I can get the files to you…I still have them.
Next, you need to manually copy the Mobile Device Support directory from a working Vista machine to your Windows 7 computer
Now, we need to install the correct driver for your iPhone / iTouch. Windows 7 incorrectly identifies the device as a digital camera. To fix this:
- Plug in your iPhone / iTouch (don’t have iTunes loaded at this time)
- Go to Device Manager (Click Start, right-click Computer, then click Properties. In the window that appears choose “Device Manager” on the left)
- Scroll down and find “Apple iPod” or “Apple iPhone” or “Apple iTouch”. It will likely be under the “Portable Devices” category.IMPORTANT NOTE: If your device is already listed under “Universal serial Bus Controllers” and not Portable Devices, you can skip these steps and go to Step 7.
- Right-click the Apple device and choose “Update Driver Software…”
- Choose “Browse my computer for driver software” in the window that appears
- It will ask you for a location; you want to Browse to this folder (location is the same in 32 and 64 bit Windows):
32-bit and 64-bit: C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\Drivers
– Click Next
- It should find the driver for your device; let it install that driver

I'm fairly new to this and may be a bit slow, I have had my iPod touch for a few years with no problems,I recieved an iMac for Christmas and have just got around to setting things up but I cannot get my iPod and iMac to sync. The iMac recognises it as a camera,even though it does not have one, but not as an iPod.Any help will be gratefully received.

If you have iTunes 11 turn on the Sidebar. Go to iTunes>View and click on Show Sidebar. You can also do a Crtl+S to show the sidebar and Control+B to show the Menu bar

Can't get iphone 4 to appear in itunes

Hi All
I can't get my iphone 4 to appear on my intel iMac. OS is snow lepard and up to date as is iphone OS. I've followed the apple instructions for iphone not appearing in the devices list and have un and reinstalled itunes. Still no joy. ipod + ipod nano both appear. The phone charge from USB also.
Any answers.

Unfortunately no and the problem is back.
As I commented I've been through the whole process of trying differing USB ports on my mac, restarting and resetting the phone, restarting the computer and then uninstalling and reinstalling itunes. All as per instructions on the iphone support page. Despite all this the phone would still not show up on itunes.
I also tried several other macs and the phone still wouldn't show up.
I thought the problem had sorted itself out after yet another phone reset last night but it is happening again. At the moment the phone will occasionally appear and sync. The phone does however charge through every USB and on every computer I try.
Unless anyone else has any bright ideas I can only assume it's an intrinsic phone issue and I'll sen it back to apple for replacement.
