Can't get iTunes Match on Windows

Has anyone ever been able to get iTunes Match on Windows?
According to information from Apple it is possible.
According to my real life experiences, it is NOT possible.
I'm using this URL:

Clicking on the "Subscribe..." button opens up iTunes and then pops up this dialog:
"We could not complete your iTunes Store request. The iTunes Store is temporarily unavailable. Please try again later."
Yeah, well, I tried it again. I tried on a Windows XP machine, I tried it on a Windows 7 machine, and on a Windows 8 machine. All freshly installed. Same results on all machines.
I emailed Apple support, they gave me standard replies like "Restart your router" and "Check your firewall".
I reeeally don't think that's the issue here. My servers have been running web, ftp, mail, games, and a BUNCH of other services 24/7 for years. It's what I do. It's what I've done for 20 years.
Is there anyone that can give me a real answer?

I did as you suggested, step by step and I still have exacly the same problem.
When I click on "Store", "Turn on iTunes Match", iTunes crashes and I constantly get an error message "iTunes has stopped working".
This problem is still there despite upgrading to the latest version of ITunes for Windows.
Any other ideas?

You must be signed into the mobile iTunes Store using the same Apple ID you used to originally purchase iTunes Match. On the iOS device go to Settings > iTunes and App Stores and tap the Apple ID. Log out, then log in with the correct ID.

How can I get iTunes running on Windows XP as well as a newer laptop running Windows 7 to both recognize my new iPhone 4S? It seems to work fine with Win 7 PC so far, but not at all with the XP OS separate laptop.

How can I get iTunes running on a Windows XP machine as well as, separately on a newer laptop running Windows 7 to both recognize and sync with my new iPhone 4S? I have different libraries on each machine which I need to sync with the iPhone, both in iTunes. It seems to be workiing fine on the Windows 7 machine, but not even reconizing the device at all in iTunes on Windows XP.

Hi turingtest2 - thanks for the reply. As you say It is how it is - and I have three workstations in this home (not counting three for my children and one for the family) and I pretty much always have more than one OS on each - that's how it is for me. I shouldn't have to worry about how many OSs I have (or how often I change them) just to have music while I'm working - through the PC sound system that is. I never have to worry about any other software, only iTunes. Once in a while (in the past) I've made a vendor call if I changed to many things to often (like CPU, GPU, memory, etc - or even a replacement MB) - but that hasn't happened in a couple years (at least since Vista) so I think (hope) they have fixed that for good. And even then it was a quick call and problem resolved. The only (glaring) constant problem is iTunes - limiting my own use of my own music (by counting an OS as a physical PC). Even with VM (which is just another OS) - although you can Attach things to multiple active OSs - it's still your own (purchased) music - and all on one PC. Thanks again!

I am having a similar issue with iTunes Match. It keeps hanging up on the same number of files (11035 of 15455) during STEP 2. I've tried signing out, re-opening iTunes, re-booting, etc. Still comesup stuck for hours. What I also don't understand is why the "iCloud Status" option in "View/View Options" disappears intermittently. It was there when I first booted up this morning and I reviewed all my music files to see if there were any "errors" and there werne't any. But after Match gets stuck on the same file niumber (11035) I 've signed out and re-booted and now the "iCloud Status" check box is missing from "View Options" (only the "iCloud Download" option remains present all the time. Please help. (I've also checked to make sure all the music files are within the suggested bit rate parameters and file type - This is also a brand new iMac out of the box). Running out of troubleshooting ideas and beginning to think this service just doesn't work well.

TS1424 Can't get itunes match due to error message

I recently purchased itunes match however, don't appear to be able to get past stage 1 before an error message appears. It reads-reporting error '4010' or '4002'. It has been going on for 2 days now. I am using iMac OS X version 10.7.4. Can anyone help please?

I just want to say "thank you" for your response to my issue. I have been trying to get my fax working since I realized there was an issue a few weeks ago. I searched for resolutions and tried several which didn't work. I did as you suggested and now have an upgraded E-Fax account in order to send faxes. How can I get iTunes Match to download songs on new iphone5s?

Hi, I just exchanged the iphone4 for for the iphone 5s. For five days now it says 'Loading iTunes Match' on the display of the new phone when I go to 'Music'. Same thing for photographs. What can I do?
So far I've checked that all the right things are enabled, but I'm wondering if I've missed something. It worked more or less fine on the iphone 4. I went through similar topics on this notice board and tried the solution of deleting the old iphone from the list of devices.
It won't update to 7.0.3 because it says something about the iPhone having to restore from the iCloud backup...
The only thing that's out of the ordinary with my account, is that the apple shop originally set me up with a second itunes account for icloud when 'me' got discontinued. Does this matter? I never had issues like this with the iphone 4.
I hope someone can help! I work with both music and photographs! If all else fails, I am willing to stop using iclouds...

I just decided to not heed the warning about loosing data if I updated to 7.0.3 before the iPhone was finished restoring from the iCloud back up and it worked!! I'm getting my songs now! It's downloading my music! :-) Don't know about the photos yet, but I guess I'll find out.

I can not get itunes match to work with my ipad. I am subscribed but when i go to turn it on it keeps telling me that i am not subscribed. how do i fix this?

I subscribed to itunes match. I have it working on my iphone but can't get it to work on my ipad. I did the same exact steps that I did for my iphone but when i try to turn it on it keeps telling me I am not subscribed and to subscribe through itunes on my PC. I've already paid and subscribed to iTunes match and do not know why I keep getting this error message. When I am in itunes on my PC I can see that my ipad is not authorized with that account and do not know if that is the problem. If so how do I authorize my ipad? I've used the store drop down box and choose authorize this computer but it keeps trying to authorize my PC and not my ipad. I am running the most current version of the ipad and itunes.

HT4913 I can't get iTunes match to work on my Apple TV (3rd gen).

I signed up for iTunes Match after iOS 7 and iTunes Radio came out. It says it should work on Apple TV by selecting Music->iTunes Match but when I try that it shows nothing available in the library. I have over 3000 songs in my iTune Match and can play them back on my other Apple devices. I have a 3rd generation AppleTV with the latest software update. What am I missing?

I have 2 user names ID's and can't get iTunes match on my iPhone

I purchased iTunes Match so I could listen to my library on my iPhone. However, my iTunes user ID is different than my iPhone user ID. When I go to "settings" on my iPhone and select "ON" for iTunes match, it says I haven't purchased it. What can I do? Last night I just made a new library and imported the old library into the new one. That took care of the problem. Not sure why I was able to import and not access the library, but whatever. It works.
To follow up on your question, I could see the iTunes folder via Finder and iTunes, but when I tried selecting the folder nothing would happen. The drive is connected to my airport and is seen as a network attached storage.

Just setup my apple tv, try to click n iTunes match and it tells me to sign into iTunes match n iTunes on my computer first...... My mac is signed into to iTunes match but why ont music show on apple tv?

On the Apple TV go to Settings > iTunes Store and sign in with the exact same iTunes Store account ID you used to first purchased iTunes Match.
