Can't get iTunes onto my iPod from a G3

My son has several hundred iTunes on our Mac G3 Biege, Version 2.2 (pre USB). I bought him an I pod and was told that I could also buy a USB 3 Port PCI Card to convert to USB but it will not fit. Is there anyway to convert this computer to get his songs onto the iPod?

You're running an old version of Safari. Before troubleshooting, try updating it to the latest version: 6.0. You can do this by clicking the Apple logo in the top left, then clicking Software update.
You can also update to the latest version of OS X, 10.8 Mountain Lion, from the Mac App Store for $19.99, which will automatically install Safari 6 as well, but this isn't essential, only reccomended.

I recently purchased a new Mac Mini with Lion installed. I downloaded the latest version of iTunes. Now I can't get iTunes to sync iCal from my iPod Touch (3rd gen) to my Mini. Everything else syncs great, and iCal syncs from my Mini to my Touch. My Touch has the latest iOS installed. I have tried rebooting my Touch, removing the sync calendars option from iTunes>Info and checking it again after applying and closing iTunes, and restarting my Mini. Any help will be appreciated!

Did you go into iTunes to change the location of your media files? if not you will need to go into iTunes and click on preference and select the advance tab then click the iTunes Media folder location. Select the location of your on external hard drive.

Can't get itunes onto my Pre with Media Sync

I've been trying to use the Media Sync to get some of my itunes onto my Pre for ringtones, but I just can't do it. I went though all the steps listed in the Palm Support section titled: "Use Media sync mode to synchronize photos, music, and videos through iTunes". I got all the way to step 7 and was right on par with the directions. I plugged in the phone to the USB, itunes opened up, but the screen did not look like the one in the directions at all. It was the normal screen for my itunes. When I got to step 7, my itunes never recognized my Pre as a device, and I couldn't go any further. Palm says:

I tried the link Palm provided to Apple support, but Apple doesn't tell you how to work with anything other than a genuine ipod or iphone, so that was no help at all. Does anyone know how to do this? I'm just trying to get some **bleep** ringtones!!!! I can't even buy any through verizon because for some reason that service isn't available for Palm Pre's yet!!!!

It's really easy to manually move stuff from iTunes to your phone using it as a USB drive. Open iTunes and plug in your Palm and choose USB drive when it pops up. When the window for the phone opens, you can drag and drop songs/podcasts from your iTunes library directly to your phone. After you eject your phone from the computer you will be able open the music player and you will see the files to play..... Haven't tried ringtones (I make my own) but I'm assuming its the same.....

Can't get iTunes to recognize iPod

Anyway, I've been getting that picture of the file with an exclamation mark on it. When I put it in my computer, it won't recognize my player at all, just locks up. I reset it, I put it in safe disk mode, and take it out. I'm trying to do a restore on the thing to wipe it...but that's proving difficult when iTunes won't recognize it.

I don't know which iPod you have, but go through the 5R's. If you can't get it to be recognized by your computer and you continue to get the folder with exclamation, it is likely that the hard drive in the iPod has become faulty.
If iTunes does not recognize it, but your computer does, one more thing you can try is to reformat the iPod as if it was an external drive (use the full format). If that works, try iTunes again to see if you can use Restore.

Can i get itunes artwork to load from the internet?

We used to use Musicmatch software and have recently started using itunes after purchasing ipods. With Musicmatch when we recorded cds into it, the artwork would automatically come up. Now with itunes we notice it doesn't. Are we doing something wrong, or does it just not do that for you? We will be so dissapointed if it doesn't, because that is one my husbands favorite things. It doesn't, theres nothing wrong. In short to make the record companys happy and to combat copyright infringment, they don't load the artwork from CDs that cannot be verified even if there store bought.
THere are many thrid party programs that will do it for you tho by reading the iTUnes library and going on the net for the artwork at amazon.com or somewhere

Yeah, so this is what happened. I had an old iPod nano, and then my computer crashed and deleted eveything. Then, I got a new iPod, and I want to put songs that I had on a CD that I already had on iTunes before my computer crashed onto my new iPod, but I lost the CD. Is there a way for me to find those songs??? Kinda impossible, but is there genius out there that can help me out? Thanks.

The songs will only be where you put them.
It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer. Your music should be there.

I just bought some TV shows on iTunes and it will not transfer to my iPod. It says it's not authorized, I followed the directions to authorize my computer (it was already authorized) and still can't get them onto my iPod. Help?

I have a 160 G iPod classic and there is plenty of room on it, I double checked that it is set to sync TV shows and movies, everything I can think of. These shows will not sync and will not drag and drop into my iPod. I just bought the shows, so I don't see how it could be an issue with it being old content or DRM or anything. Can't get anything onto my ipod!

I recently got an iPod 120gg. I plugged it into my computer, did all the necessary bits, such as restore it. and I've named it and everything. When it comes to getting my music onto it, it seems to hate me. I can sync about 200 songs onto it before it gets stuck copying one random song onto it. iTunes then freezes up and the iPod no longer shows the syncing visual. I have no option but to just unplug it. It then just doesn't let me sync anything else at all. This is a 120gb iPod and all I can get onto it is about 10 albums please help! I've tried everything.

I can't get iTunes to list content from the library on my backup HD.

My old G5 crashed but I pulled the hard drive. I've got a mini now and I want iTunes to read the content from the second drive (using a dock). I can pull up one song at a time and it comes up in the Library under Music no problem. But I'd like the Library interface to pick up and read the media directly from that drive. I've tried redirecting under 'Advanced Preferences' but the Music Library doesn't seem to see anything. Any ideas for a computer novice? Thanks.

Hold Option and launch iTunes.
Select Choose library and select the iTunes folder on the external.

I've been using (quite successfully) Videora iPod Converter and it works so well it blew my mind the first time I used it. Of course I'm a bit of a power user, but the normal mode is so handy I can't help but to use it. Not sure if it works on a mac though. I tried to look, but couldn't find anything that explicitly says mac.
