Can't get iTunes to come up at all after upgrade

I got the message to upgrade Safari, iTunes and Quicktime. I started the download and left. When I came back I got a message to power off the MAC using the power button - it was a transparent box in several languages. I did that and then tried to check the update again to see what didn't get loaded. The only thing there was iTunes so I tried to update it again. It crashes every time I try to bring it up. After trying to download it again and repairing my permissions, I tried to follow these instructions to install an earlier version of iTunes.

I also did the extra things suggested in the post by Barbara Daniels1
by trashing the iTunesaccess.pkg and iTunesx.pkg
and went to the iTunes Music folder and trashed the ITunes libraryextras.itdb, genius.itdb, and music library.xml
it still crashes and won't come up.
I am on the updated Safari and Quicktime.

How can I get iTunes to locate and play all my music files?

I have this problem too. I am researching now. Here is what I know so far. If you right click a song then get ifo the it will say Protected AAC or purchased AAC. Protected wont play on sonos, purchased will play on sonos. It seems that all my protected were purchased 2005 to 2009 or so. I am trying to find out if apply will convert these for a small dfee or if I use the itunes cloud these tunes will convert for me. downloading and reloading is not an option for me. Pretty much a money grab by apple either way. I am sure Steve is smiling.

I can not get itunes to come up

I was having an issue with signing into my home sharing and getting a -9808 code and was able to resolve that issue, but now I can not get itunes home page to load. I have all the updates and when I run my diagnostics through the itunes help tab it comes up fine.

This error usually points into the jailbreak direction. If DFU mode does not help, you can't restore the phone due to the modified software that has been installed before you got the phone.

I can't get itunes to come up

I installed itunes 6, it went through all good, and i tried to launch it. It wouldn't launch. I thought if i restarted my computer then it would work, so i started to shut down. It wouldn't let me, it said that itunes was running, and i got the standard "end now" or cancel message. So I ended it and restarted. itunes still won't come up. Help, anyone?

Hmm, I've been having a minor problem with the Norton/iTunes combination from the get-go but IMHO no amount of lost functionality would convince me to do something like that every time I start a program. This is just me but I'd use a completely different app before I started opening big holes in my system every time I wanted to listen to some music.
You should really only have to disable your antivirus when you first install something. You should be able to add some rules to your firewall that will allow iTunes to talk to the CDDB or music store so disabling it shouldn't be necessary either.
If that doesn't work, you can instruct some (most???) antivirus software to ignore certain files or folders if you think it's causing you trouble but I would never disable stuff for long stretches. Call me paranoid but the 'net is rife with compromised computers already.
(edit: The problem on my machine is with connections to the CDDB and Norton might not be to blame, it just seems to be the most likely culprit since it's also my firewall. A totally different mp3 player can connect to the CDDB with no problem.)

New 80gb ipod classic. Can't get itunes to sync music at all. HELP!

I have a brand new ipod classic. It is fully charged and is connected to the computer. When the screen to register my ipod came up i clicked register later. Then the ipod software license agreement came up, so i read it, checked the box and clicked save. After clicking save, i figured it would go to a new screen like it did with my old ipod, but it still just stays on the license agreement screen. i have saved the license agreeement at least 5 times and the screen never changes. i have tried ejecting and reconnecting my ipod, switching the plug to another usb outlet and even restarting my computer. I checked for updates on the softwares to make sure i was up to date and i am. I don't know if this is an itunes or ipod issue. This is my second ipod, so i thought i knew how to troubleshoot and get around pretty much everything, but in this case i'm totally lost! Any ideas?

I should've been more clear...it's not a monitor problem...i just can't get the software license agreement page to go away. After i check the box and click save and save it to my computer the screen won't change to the main page thing for my ipod so i can't even start syncing music until i can get that page to show up. I know how to sync my music once i get to that page, but i just don't know how many more times i have to save that stupid license agreement.

Can't get iTunes to install have done all Apple recommend on their support

Hi Everyone,
I am new to these and forums generally. And this request is on behalf of my teenage daughter, whose mini ipod I am trying to sort out.
I have got a problem installing iTunes and I am really hoping that someone here can help, as Apple's support don't seem to know how to resolve it, so look at this as a challenge.
I have gone through the recommendations that apple have given me and other than the itunesinstall,exe file on my desktop, I don't seem to have anything to do with iTunes or Quicktime on my computer, but when I try to install iTunes I get the following message: The installer encountered errors before iTunes could be configured.
To try these operations at a later time, please run the installer again.
Can anyone please please help, I am at my wits end here and have spent weeks searching for a way to simply install iTunes, Apple haven't been very helpful at all and I don't know what to do next.
I hope to hear some positive suggestions. Thanks for reading.

No I can't install Quicktime either, each time I try to install it I get a message 'The older version of Quicktime cannot be removed. Contact your technical support group.'
I have gone through all the apple support pages and have removed every trace of Quicktime, from every part of my machine, yet it still says this every time.
I have also shut down all the other programs that run in the background, when I have tried to install both iTunes and Quicktime.
I just don't know what to do next, surely if apple don't have the ability to be able to sort this out, there is something wrong, but because my daughter's mini ipod is out of warranty (in fact prehistoric by todays standards) they aren't interested in helping.
I hope you can perform some kind of miracle here and she would love to be able to use it again.

How can I get my back up on my mac after upgrading to Yosemite?

Hey everyone!
Before upgrading to Yosemite I made a Time Machine back up on a external hard disk.
After the upgrade to Yosemite was done I started with the setting-screen like anyone else would. When the Migration Assistant-screen came up I selected my external hard disk with my time-machine back up on it. Unfortunately Migration Assistant wasn't able to put the back up on the computer because apparently there was not enough space.
23gb to less or something. So I deselected a few maps in order to get under that amount and tried again. Nothing happened and the same message: not enough space.
So now I am stuck with a empty mac without any of my previous documents, music, etc.. What should I do? Should I fully format my mac?
FYI: my mac consists out of an 80 GB Solid State SATA Drive and a 128 GB Solid State SATA Drive.
The back-up my time machine made on my 1TB external hard disk is 131,5 GB big.

iPhone, iPad, iPod touch: Wrong passcode results in red disabled screen

Can't load iTunes and Apps in my iPhone after upgrading to OS5.

So, I updated my iPhone late last night to the new IOS5. It downloaded everything and went through all the permutations my iPhone went through with each OS upgrade.
But after the update and sync were complete, I no longer have any Apps on the phone nor any music.
On my iTunes page, I still have about 1.42GB of music (though I had over 3.5GB on my iPhone), but I'm reluctant to sync it up with the iPhone in case that completely wipes out the rest of my library, which I hope is still sitting somewhere in the ether.
Separately, my Apps appear on iTunes. I then clicked on "Sync Apps" and clicked each item. I hit "Apply" and then it goes into sync mode. After a minute, the sync is completely and none of the Apps are moved back onto my iPhone. Very confusing. Anyone else having these problems?
My phone is 3GS.

Itunes doesn't work at all after upgrade 7

when i got the pop-up to upgrade to 7 i clicked it. When it was done loading, i got a error that said i don't have quicktinme 7.1.3. So i went onto apple.com and went to quicktime and updated to quicktime 7.1.3. As soon as it was done i cliked onthe itunes desktop icon and it came up with the same error. i ahve tried many times to fix it by uninstalling everything and reinstalling it all over again and it still did not work. Is there any way to fix it or is it something with the compuer?

I would first try skipping down to Uninstall older versions QuickTime, the attempt to repair iTunes installation. This will be done through control panel>addremove programs.

I can not get itunes to work on my Windows 7 32.

Itunes was working fine until the update came into play for the 10.5 and I can not get itunes to work now. All I get is an error message saying it's not loaded correctly and error 7 and errror 5 =>> this is really getting hard to deal with cause I have deleted and added it back so many times I feel silly.. Please tell me someone out there can help me fix this problem...

I can not get itunes to open after I have downloaded it and closed it and tried to get bck into it

The file that I'm have issues with in itunes is the file called iTunes Libary.itl.
So just to get itunes to open I had to delete that file and then sync all of my music back into itunesday, is there anyway so I do not have to keep doing that?
