Can't get iTunes to get lost

Hi all,
This has to be a question for the 'weird' section. I'm usiing iTunes 6.0.4.2 on my Pentium 4-based Windows XP machine, and I cannot get it to stay closed. Every time I click on close, it re-opens after a 10 second pause. I don't have my iPod connected, but I do have MSN Messenger 7.5 and 'FoxyTunes' toolbar for Firefox interfaced with it for display and control of my music. This has started to happen on my PowerBook as well, which has the same set-up except Mercury 1710 instead of MSN. This is quickly becoming 'the most insistant media player on the planet!' Please help!

Have you tried removing FoxyTunes? It is pretty easy to remove and re-install and if the launching stops after you remove it then you know its FoxyTunes that is causing the problem.

If you had backups of them on your computer's iTunes then go into Edit > Preferences and hover your mouse pointer over their backups :

Can I get lost photos back that were deleted in a sync?

I plugged my new iPhone 5 into my computer and was in iTunes. It prompted me to either use the phone as a new one or use a backup. I wanted my apps back so I used the back up, but then without warning or even letting me select what it would sync, it erased everything on my phone within 30 seconds. Can I get at least the photos back that I took of family over the holidays, or are they gone forever? Does Apple have a server where they store everything we all do on our phones, and could I maybe pay them to search and get those back for me?
I'm afraid it's all a lost cause...

Well it's a newer iMac, but it's one I've been using for about a year. I had backed up my old 3G on it, but right before I plugged my new phone in to get me apps, I had downloaded the newest version of iTunes.
It was just a white screen and had that question on it. With two selection options, and then under the back up option was a drop down to choose which back up to use. No warning and no other dialog box opened after I clicked it either... reference the image in the link below.

Im very sad i just had a baby and all my pics from birth were on my phone Nd i plugged it into comp for the first time and it restored it and i lost everything and it transported the stuff from my old phone to the new one. As well as my contacts so i lost alot

No backup = No recovery. There are no methods available to non-law enforcement or government agences that can undelete or recove iOS data not backed up.

If they were on your phone when you last backed up you could try restoring to your backup. This may restore them if you follow this user tip: https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-4841.

What kind of work? Did you make "Real Instruments" recording? These may have survived the crash - GarageBand writes the recordings immediately to the drive, even before saving.
Ctrl-click your project and select "Show Package Contents"; then your recorded audio tracks should be visible in the "Media" folder, like in this example - a project before the first saving:
However, with software instruments and loops I see no help; these will only be written to your disk when you save the project, and thus, they will not appear in your Time Machine backup until you safe them.

Backup do not contaiuns music or apps, you will either need to resync them from your itunes computer, or you can go to purchase history in itunes or app store app and go to purchase history and redownload them.

I have lost my songs from both by Ipod and my Itunes library but they are still purchased according to the Itunes store so I cant rebuy/re download them straight from iTunes, Can I get them back?

That one's consistent with disk/file damage. The first thing I'd try with that is running a disk check (chkdsk) over your C drive.

Select both Automatically fix file system errors and Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors, or use chkdsk /r (depending on which way you decide to go about doing this). You'll almost certainly have to schedule the chkdsk to run on startup. The scan should take quite a while ... if it quits after a few minutes or seconds, something's interfering with the scan.
Does the chkdsk find/repair any damage? If so, can you get an install to go through properly afterwards?

No backup is a huge mistake.

You can't, you will need to get a new remote.

Sorry, but officially Apple does not allow redownloads of purchased items other than iPhone/iPod touch applications and iBooks. It's your responsibility to make backup copies (as iTunes itself advises) in case something goes wrong with your system, as unfortunately it apparently did in your case, and you lose all the information on your hard drive. The official statement of their policy can be found here, among other places.
For apps, look here for instructions on redownloading. For songs, movies, and videos, if you don't have a backup of your purchased items, either on external media or another computer and don't have them on an iOS device (iPhone, iPod touch, iPad), you're probably out of luck and will need to repurchase your content.
If you have your content on an iOS device, post back and someone here can help you get them restored. Otherwise you can try contacting iTunes Store Customer Service (select the "Music Purchases" or "Video Purchases" category, as appropriate, then "Lost or Missing Items". You'll find either an "Express Lane" button - just follow the instructions to get to the contact form - or an "Email Us" button) ") and explaining what happened. Reportedly in some cases Apple has allowed redownloading on a one-time basis. But don't count on it.

All the music you purchased from iTunes can be re-downloaded, all the music you acquired without purchasing from iTunes can be accessed using Senuti (not free). The combination of these 2 will get your music back.
