Can't get m-audio Uno with keyboard to work in GB

Hello,
So I have the latest Uno (I'm pretty sure), with the latest drivers installed and the 10.6.3 v1.1 update, Garageband 5.1, a Casio Privia keyboard, and a macbook.
In the Audio MIDI Setup MIDI window, I can see the keyboard and the Uno, but in the Garageband preferences my input options are Built-In Input, Built-In Output, and System Settings. What am I doing wrong?
Also, shouldn't there be an input drop down menu and a monitor drop down somewhere in the bottom right corner in GB? I can't find it.

The cords are connected to the proper ports I'm pretty sure, because when I play on the keyboard the the green light by "MIDI In" lights up, and it does not light up when the cords are reversed.
I created a piano track, and there is a menu of options on the right with two tabs at the top, "Software Instrument," and "Master Track."
There is a little window at the bottom towards the middle that sometimes has a dot that lights up when I bang the keyboard, but it is inconsistent. I feel like I'm missing something obvious I should be doing.

Can't get this banner slideshow with transitions to work

I have downloaded the files from the google page as instructed. But I'm doing something wrong. I pasted the indicated code into an html snippet <iframe src="../../../WebBanner" width="950" height="200" scrolling="no" frameborder="0"></iframe>
I must not be putting the various files in the proper place on the mobile me server.
If anyone can explain to me in simple terms how to make this work I would greatly appreciate it.

Now I remember how I was confused by this process. This process has two separate steps.
1. Move the downloaded <Slideshow 2!> folder to your iDisk
2. Create an html snippet on a page in iWeb. this is the code I used:

The above code has been changed so it won't function as code in these forums, but what is important is that the address points to the <index.html> page inside the <Slideshow 2!> folder that you dragged into your iDisk.

The folder you download from google <Slideshow 2!> (or something like that), just drag that entire folder to your iDisk folder <Sites>, that should be the same folder that your <Site> folder in in.
Add your photos to the image folder inside that <Slideshow 2!> folder.
Then add those photo's file names to the list of photos within the <index.html> page. This tells the slide show which images to include in the slideshow.
Hope this helps, look at Old Toads site , it is very helpful. Good luck. Once you get it, it will become clear.

Can't get any audio "changers" working

Hello, I have HP Pavilion 2250so, and I can't get any audio changer or like that working. I can't get Dolby Advanced Audio working and the IDT Audio which is already on my computer doesn't work, evey time I try to start that, it says -"IDT PC Audio has stopped working. I don't mean that I don't have sound in my computer, no I have but I can't get those audio programs working which are like equalizer in Windows Media Player 11 that you can add bass boost and stuff. Any help?

Well, how have to determined no signal is being recieved to your mac?
Have you got something that shows the actual signal? Or have you just been trying to control a VST? What software are you using by the way?
I personnally went with a AKAI MPK25, because it's made already mapped for logic & ableton etc, so it just makes things incredibly easy.
I would suggest you return it if you can as a dead unit & perhaps look at something else a bit easier?
Otherwise, if you just want to get this working we can have a look a bit deeper.
And driver? OS X driver?

After syncing with itunes on the pc, my newly purchased audio books vanished from the ipad, and I can't copy it back! I've tried copying the audio book back into the library, but that didn't help.
Also couldn't get iTunes on my iCloud! there was no where to select on the icloud dashboard so that I can add iTunes ... Help!

Audiobooks are not currently available for repeat download from iTunes in the Cloud. Your audiobook should have transferred to your iTunes library when you synced your device.
You will need to contact support through the "Report a problem" links in your account history, or via Contact Support.

Hi Gary - thanks so much for your help. I'd already done that, but finally stumbled across the answer for my situation. I'm new to iMac and this is the first time I used Keynote, so maybe this info will help someone else along the way - I still haven't found this in any of the Keynote documentation or forums I've read.
My slides were all set up with at least one text box in which the text was animated. The sound was the last thing I added to each slide, exactly following the info in Keynote Help re: adding audio. The audio would work when I tested it in Inspector mode, and also if I switched to soundtrack instead. But not if sound was added to each individual slide. Hmmm. After I submitted the question above, I was running through the (auto) slide show one final time to check text, animation, etc. when I noticed that on just one single slide the sound effect came through, but at the very tail end of the slide. Hmm again. Why?
Through trial & error, the answer was in the animation section - not very intuitive re: audio. The steps to correct the issue were: 1) click on the sound icon embedded in each slide, 2) click on the animation tab in Inspector. 3) There's a drop-down menu there that allows you to reposition the audio clip to the #1 spot (if it was added after other "animation"). This allows the sound to begin before the text animation begins on each slide. Before doing this, I guess the sound was in there but the slides were transitioning before it had a chance to play.
Since this is the first time I've used Keynote and it's the most recent version, I'm not sure if this is a new feature to allow users to choose where within a slide to play a sound effect, but I'm guessing that might be why was unable to find any info on how to solve it. Hopefully this will help others who get stumped.

Stumped! Can't Get Some Audio To Play.

I have some files that I converted with Visual Hub and I used their Apple TV 5.1 encoding. I have my Apple TV hooked up to my TV through HDMI. I recently moved and now no mater what I can't get the audio to play for those files. I have audio when I go through the menus and if I listen to music or podcasts. But these files that have DD 5.1 all of a sudden don't play. I've tried everything I could think of. Can anyone help?

Not all process DD5.1, but if they don't there's often a second stereo rack in files which will play.
Is DD out enabled in settings on AppleTV?

I can't get any audio recording to work in Logic X.

I got a new Imac, an Apogee duet and Logic X.
I just got Logic X and I really love everything about it accept I can't record any audio recordings on it.
I can use my old Logic and garageband files and play around and mix them with no problem. The midi works fine as well coming trhoug my headphones and monitors.
Somehow I can't get the Audio to be heard or recorded. Which is a real bummer since I got only 6 songs left on my new album and it is an acoustic album. I bought Logic so I could master the first 5 and the record the last 6. But I'm stuck with garageband at the moment. Because that actually can record the audio throug my duett with no problem. Then I open the songs up in Logic and master and mix them..
Ay ideas?

If you can record and hear audio in Garageband, it must be down to something in Logic - have you checked the Audio tab in Logic's Preferences and selected your Duet as Output and Input device ?

Try a different FW800 cable and also try doing a SMC reset. If neither work try another FW800 device to see if it's recognized, if it is then you know it's not the Mac it's probably the EHD.
SMC RESET
Shut down the computer.
Unplug the computer's power cord and all peripherals.
Wait 15 seconds.
Attach the computers power cable.
Wait another 5 seconds and press the power button to turn on the computer.
PRAM RESET
Shut down the computer.
Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Command, Option, P, and R. You will need to hold these keys down simultaneously in step 4.
Turn on the computer.
Press and hold the Command-Option-P-R keys. You must press this key combination before the gray screen appears.
Hold the keys down until the computer restarts and you hear the startup sound for the second time.
Release the keys.

We are going to get you up and running with all picture text messages. Have you ever been able to receive picture messages in a group text before? Can ou please check some settings for me. Let's go into Settings, Messages, and is MMS Messaging swich green? How about the Group Messaging switch? If they are green, go ahead and switch those off for a few seconds and then turn them back on. Then re-try the picture message. One last thing, you can also try to reset the network settings. Settings, General, Reset, Reset Network Settings. Please keep us posted.

What App are you using to get the audio stream? Safari should work unless Flash is involved.
I have used the free NPR App to listen to radio stations, but I don't know if it works with TV stations.

I had the same problem, try this:
In your home directory, go to Library/Caches/
(make sure you are in the library in your home directory, not the library at the root level of the hard disk).
and remove this file: com.apple.audiounits.cache
You can drag it to your desktop if you like or throw it away.
Then relaunch garage band, it will rescan all audio units.
If you have the Kontakt audio unit installed in YourHardDiskName/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components it should recognize it and include it in your list. You can toss that cache file any time you want Garage Band to rescan your audio units.
I had a problem with Kontakt on an upgrade that broke it, GarageBand saw it and put Kontakt on its list of broken Audio Units, it would never load it after that... after a new rescan, it was fine.
