Can't get match to work on ipad2.

Help!
I have successfully matched and/or uploaded about 15,000 songs to the match service. I can see them and access them from iTunes on my laptop.  However on my iPad I get nothing.  I have tried turning the match service off and back on multiple times, as well as rebooting the iPad, resetting my apple store login and many combinations of the above all to no avail!  No songs appear in the music app on the iPad.  Doesn't matter if I'm on wifi or 3G.  Also tried syncing over USB cable.  Nothing.
To add insult to injury, my iPhone 4 only sees 2600 of the 15,000.  Nothing I do will show me more than the 2600.  Tried toggling the show all option and it didn't make a difference...
Match is definitely not a finished product!  Anyone have any idea how to get them working??

Think I figured it out.  Whil I thought that the match uploads were don, it had timed out several times and never flagged the import process as "done".  Once I forcd it to finish the songs all showed up.   Then I had a bunch of songs with disabled (greyed out) cloud icons, but have discovered that many of them had extra custom mp3 tags. When I removed the unusual tags most of them were good again.  Except for a my songs that were ripped at 320.  Those still won't sync without ending up disabled...  How do I upload the 320's ??

    If your email account offers a webmail access, I suggest checking the webmail - log in to your account using the webmail access, and I predict you will see all those "unread" emails there and can dispose of them from there.
    This happens because the iPhone that went bad, when reading those emails, did not remove them from your email provider's servier.

  • I can't get homeshare to work on ipad2? Please help!

    Despite watching many youtube videos and reading forums, I have yet to solve my homeshare problem.
    What I have:-
    - Ipad2 running iOS 5.1.1;
    - Music App (not ipod app);
    - Dell Inspiron (no comments please);
    - latest version of itunes on both devices;
    What I have tried/done:-
    - clicked homeshare on my itunes account on PC, entered information and clicked done;
    - enter the same information in music app under settings on the ipad;
    - gone into music app clicked more and only "genre" and "composers" with "sort by artist" come up. No "sharing" or "library";
    - I've then tried turn homeshare back off then on again entered the information but NOT clicked done. Entered the information again on the ipad, back to itunes on the PC and clicked done. Still no "library" of "sharing" option on the music app under "more";
    - I've tried disabling firewall for home network;
    - I've tried amending settings on firewall;
    - i've rebooted the ipad several times;
    - I've restarted the PC several times;
    - The ipad device only shows on PC when connected by cable not as a wireless device;
    - Under preferences in itunes I have ticked share the entire library and home sharing computers.....option.
    Any ideas please?

    My printer is a fairly new all-in-one Brother MFC-7860 DW. It is not listed in the iPad AirPrint printers. Can I get it to work with my new iPad2?

    If it's not an Airprint enabled printer, you can not natively through your iPad.  BUT, there are apps you can purchase in the App Store, like Print Central ($9), which is what I use myself and works well for my needs.

  • [SOLVED] I can't get virtual hosts working. What's wrong?

    What I've decided to do is try to set up each domain name in the user folder to whom it belongs (for example: /home/username/somedomain.com/htdocs). I can't get it to work though. I keep getting an error saying that there's no index file (although there is) or that the location isn't readable (although it is). I'm trying to make it so that if the domain name matches with a virtual host section in httpd-vhosts.conf that a specific DocumentRoot will be loaded for that domain, etc. But, if the domain name points to my server but doesn't match, then I want the default location to work. I can't seem to make this work.
    This is my http.conf:

    And here's my httpd-vhosts.conf:
    NameVirtualHost *:80
    <VirtualHost *:80>
    ServerName 45.117.5.40
    ServerAdmin [email protected]
    DocumentRoot "/srv/http/default/htdocs"

    ErrorLog "/home/normaluser/somedomain.com/log/error_log"
    CustomLog "/home/normaluser/somedomain.com/log/access_log" common
    </VirtualHost>
    So, for example, I want it to be so that if I visit http://45.117.5.40 that it'll show the stuff ftom /srv/http/default/htdocs but if the domain name matches somedomain.com then I want the server to show the content from /home/normaluser/somedomain.com/htdocs.
    What currently happens is that if I visit http://45.117.5.40 or somedomain.com, they both show the same content from /srv/http/default/htdocs.
    If I comment out the first VirtualHost section, then everything stops working and I see the default "Access forbidden!" message.
    What am I doing wrong?

    I fixed it. In case any newbs come across this, I had to add a new <Directory> section for the DocumentRoot of the virtual host. Simply adding the VirtualHost entry in the vhosts file isn't enough.
    For example, for the "somedomain.com" vhost in the example above to work, I added this to http.conf:
    #This must match with the same location as DocumentRoot in httpd-vhost.conf.
    <Directory "/home/normaluser/somedomain.com/htdocs">
    #Put whatever directives you want in here
    Options Indexes FollowSymLinks
    AllowOverride All
    Order allow,deny
    Allow from all
    </Directory>
    Let me know if you need any clarification.

  • Can't get matching xdb6.jar, xmlparserv2.jar and ojdbc6.jar

    No matter what I try, they are always somewhat different and I'm getting exceptions with JDBC on either setSQLXML or on .getString() once I retrieved the SQLXML object and want to get the content back or I'm downright getting "oracle.xdb.XMLType cannot be cast to java.sql.SQLXML"
    How is it possible that Oracle who owns Java and OracleDB can't make a working Java driver? I just want to be able to work with XML, I didn't know this was asking much. I have OracleXE installed.

    All you have done is complain. That is basically the equivalent of a five year old saying 'Mommy, my tummy hurts'.

    What did you try? You haven't posted ANY information about what you are even doing, what jars, tools or code you are doing it with or HOW you are doing it.

    What exceptions? You haven't posted ANY exceptions or any of the code that caused those exceptions.
    Retrieved WHAT SQLXML object? Retrieved from where? What is the full name and version of the database you are using? For Oracle that would be the 4 digit version as returned by 'SELECT * FROM V$VERSION'. Oracle DB doesn't have any SQLXML objects; it has XMLTYPE columns. Is that what you are trying to access?

    Where did you get them from? How did you get them? How do you know that they don't match? What is the full name and version of the jars that you are using?
    Have you used this functionality before? Do you know how to use it? If you have never used it and have no expertise with it we need to know that so we can tell you how to get up to speed so you can use it successfully.
    Since you haven't provided ANY of the information needed to provide any specific suggestions all we can do is assume that you are using the last, current version of Java and all jars files and have never used the functionality. In that case you need to start at the beginning.
    Review the relevant sections of the JDBC Developer's Guide
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E18283_01/java.112/e16548/jdbcvers.htm#BABGHBCC
    >
    SQLXML Type
    One of the most important updates in JDBC 4.0 standard is the support for the XML data type, defined by the SQL 2003 standard. Now JDBC offers a mapping interface to support the SQL/XML database data type, that is, java.sql.SQLXML. This new JDBC interface defines Java native bindings for XML, thus making handling of any database XML data easier and more efficient.
    The oracle.jdbc.getObjectReturnsXMLType Property
    In Oracle Database 10g and earlier versions of Oracle Database 11g, Oracle JDBC drivers supported the Oracle SQL XML type (XMLType) through an Oracle proprietary extension. XML values were represented by instances of the oracle.xdb.XMLType class and the SQL XMLType values were read and set through the JDBC standard getObject, setObject, and updateObject methods.
    The JDBC standard requires the getObject method to return an instance of java.sql.SQLXML type when called on a SQL XML type column. But, the earlier versions of Oracle JDBC drivers return an instance of oracle.xdb.XMLType. This does not conform to the JDBC standard.
    The current release of Oracle JDBC drivers conform to the JDBC standard with the introduction of a new connection property, oracle.jdbc.getObjectReturnsXMLType. If you set this property to false, then the getObject method returns an instance of java.sql.SQLXML type. You can achieve this by using the following command line option while compiling your program with javac:
    -Doracle.jdbc.getObjectReturnsXMLType="false"
    If you depend on the existing Oracle proprietary support for SQL XMLType using oracle.xdb.XMLType, then you can change the value of this property back to true by using the following command line option:
    -Doracle.jdbc.getObjectReturnsXMLType="true"
    The value of the oracle.jdbc.getObjectReturnsXMLType property is a String representing a boolean value of either true or false. If the value of this property is true, then the getObject method returns oracle.xdb.XMLType instances, when called for a SQL XMLType column. This is the deafault value of the oracle.jdbc.getObjectReturnsXMLType property. If the value of this property is false, then the getObject method returns java.sql.SQLXML instances. This is the standard JDBC-compliant mode.
    Note:
    The oracle.jdbc.getObjectReturnsXMLType property affects only the result of the getObject method. All other methods conform to the JDBC 4.0 standard regardless of the value of the property.
    >
    The exception that you are getting
    >
    oracle.xdb.XMLType cannot be cast to java.sql.SQLXML
    >
    is telling that the XMLType is NOT an SQLXML type so you can't use it as one. That doc section above should tell explain that those are two DIFFERENT types. You use one or the other depending on which version of the functionality you want to use. You can use the older 'non-JDBC' standard or the new 'JDBC' standard. But you can't mix the two.
    Review that entire chapter of the doc and see if that helps.
    If not then you need to provide ALL relevant information if you need more help:
    1. Java version
    2. DB name and version
    3. JAR file names and versions
    4. Java code that demonstrates the problem
    5. EXACT copies of any and all exceptions and errors that occur
    6. A description, in English, of what you are trying to do and how you are trying to do it.

  • I can't get TextWrangler to work as a comparison tool - what am I doing wrong?

    I've followed your help advice for 'Compare local and remote files for differences' and I can't get it to work.
    I have an iMac running OSX 10.7.2. I have Dreamweaver 5 and TextWrangler (3.5.3) installed in my Applications folder. In Dreamweaver, selected Edit - Preferences - File compare.
    Then I've added the code: Macintosh HD:usr:bin:twdiff
    However if I right click a local file and select 'Compare with Remote Server', I get a message saying 'There is no remote version of xxx to compare'
    This is despite the fact that I am connected to the remote site and can see the matching version of the file in the remote section.
    What am I doing wrong?

    You may have installed your TextWrangler application without administrator privileges. In this you'll have to look for the twdiff file in the Local Applications Support Folder (refer to TextWrangler User Manual).
    To fix your problem with Dreamweaver, while selecting your File Compare tool, try looking for the twdiff file in the following location :
    Macintosh HD:usr:local:bin:twdiff
    That should definitely work. It did for me
    Cheers!

  • I can't get FaceTime to work, yes I have wi-fi.

    i can not get FaceTime to work, yes it's on, yes my account and e-mail match, wi-Fi is on and full strength.
    HELP.
    < Edited by Host >

    Just because you have the wifi signal strength bars, doesn't guarantee you're actually on wifi.  Can you open a website in Safari?  Can you download an App from the App Store?  If you can't, you're not on wifi.
    Did you set up facetime using your Apple ID, not necessary your email address?

  • ACE - Can not get it to work

    All,
    I am trying to configure simple load balancing to 4 servers on a ACE (ver 3.0.0A13B), but I can't get it to work.
    See config below. I have L3 vlan interfaces on my Cat6513 for vlan 22, 29 and 121.
    Can anyone spot the issue?
    Thanks, Pieter-Jon

    > I have L3 vlan interfaces on my Cat6513 for vlan 22, 29 and 121.
    That is your problem first of all.
    If i get it right from your config.
    VLAN 121 is your transfer network / or client side vlan
    VLAN 22 and VLAN 29 are Server VLANS?
    What you should keep in mind is that you define the server side vlans only on the ACE contexts with L3. You don't define them on the supervisor.
    If you use the ACE in routed mode you have to assign networks exclusive to the ace like routing networks to a layer 3 device in your network. If you use those vlans (22,29) on other parts of your net you should subnet them or take another network.
    Your setup should look like this.
    6513
    L3 ~ VLAN 121
    L2 ~ VLAN 22,29,121
    ACE Module
    L3 ~ VLAN 22,29,121
    You assign the 3 vlans or any other to a vlan group and assign this group to the ace module.
    Create a new context -> assign the vlan 22,29 and 121 to this context.
    6513(L3) <-- vlan 121 --> ACE (L3) /Admin Context
    6513(L3) <-- vlan 121 --> ACE(L3) / Server Context --> VLAN 22,29
    ACE Admin Context (VLAN121)
    ACE Server Context (VLAN 121,22,29)
    After you have a working L2/L3 setup start troubleshooting the ace config itself. :)
    Hope it helps

  • Making a join seems simple but I can't get it to work

    Hi All,
    I have 2 tables LUGallery and LUSubGallery, the tables are related by the GalleyID field

    What I am try to do seems simple but I can't get it to work the way I want it.
    I am trying to write a query to display Galleries from the LUGallery tbl that have a Sub Gallery attached to them (ie. It's GalleryID appears in the LUSubGallery tbl)
    So the query for the above example would list Australia, Weddings & Landscapes
    I have tried to write code both with inner joins and nested queries but just can't get it right,
    Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance
    Kris

    I just want to
    display the GalleryNames from the LUGallery tbl once
    Then you probably do not want include all the extra columns from the LUSubGallery table.
    It returns all of the records from both tables that Have
    the same GalleryID
    That is the way this type of JOIN works. It will return one record for each matched GalleryID. If you only want to display the unique gallery names you can either:
    1) Use an EXISTS clause.  It will return the distinct records from the main gallery table IF a matching record exists in the LUSubGallery table
    --- Not tested ---
    SELECT  LUGallery.GalleryID,
    LUGallery.GalleryName
    FROM    LUGallery
    WHERE   EXISTS (
            SELECT  *
            FROM LUSubGallery
            WHERE LUGallery.GalleryID = LUSubGallery.GalleryID
    http://www.techonthenet.com/sql/exists.php
    ... OR ....
    2) Use the DISTINCT operator to return only the unique combinations of the selected columns. Note: DISTINCT considers all columns in the SELECT list . So if you only want unique galleries, do not include the LUSubGallery columns in the SELECT list.

    I had a macbook and purchased the Microsoft office for Mac which included Entrourage.
    I have now purchased a new macbook Pro and want to begin to use Mail rather than Entrourage.
    I have Entrourage on my new computer but i can't get it to transfer my information to the the Mail program
    I am on Charter.net at my office and sbcglobal.net at home.
    How can i get this to work.  I can receive on Mail, but i can't send.

    check your outgoing port settings and make sure it's using a specific port and not the default port, also you might want to check to see if it is using SSL, TLS or any other encryption.  Verify the setting from your old machine setup.

    If it's showing the red disabled screen due to incorrect passcodes then you may need to put the iPad into recovery mode : http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1808 - you should then be able to reset the iPad via your computer's iTunes and restore/resync your content to it

    Hi,
    Is there an iPhone involved ?
    If not, what happens  if you remove the Apple ID on the iPad and then set it in Airplane Mode (allow a couple of minutes at this point) followed by re-adding the Apple ID ?
    What, if any error messages are appearing on the Mac when you try to launch the App or Login to the iMessages server ?
    Is the Apple ID linked to an iCloud account ?
    In Messages 7 (Mountain Lion) this did not seem to be important but it seems it is in Mavericks/Messages 8
