Can't get movie on HD

Hey, I recently suffered a HD failure, and unfortunately I wasn't backed up. Luckily, I still had my iPod (Black, 80GB classic), which had all of my music and video on it. Using Senuti I managed to get all of my itunes back on my new HD. Everything except the movie "I am Legend". When trying to transfer it with Senuti , it would tell me that it was unable to copy the data. After that, I tried just transferring purchases off of my iPod in iTunes (I purchased I am Legend). iTunes gave me an error message saying "Attempting to copy to the disk "Macintosh HD" failed. The disk could not be read from or written to." Everything else transfered fine, except the movie.
I tried this again on our family iMac and got the same result. The only place I have this movie is on my iPod, and if I hear correctly there isn't any way to re-download it without buying it again. Can someone help?
Thanks,
Atty
This is a repost, since nobody would reply for a week.

Aww, don't be lonely.
Since you're using a 3rd party program to recover the contents of your iPod, I would suggest contacting the developer about the situation to find out if there's any support for recovering purchased movies. All of the iPod recovery strategies are hacks of one kind or another, since the iPod is designed only for transfers from computer to iPod (unless disc use is enabled).

  • I can not get movies to transfere from computer to IPad

    I can not get movies to transfere from my computer to my IPad,  I am using Window 7 64 byt and have down loaded the lastest version of Itunes from Itunes.  It will act like it is getting ready to sync (just like it did in the past) and then it stops

    Ok, I searched system profiler and opened it up and I see the word firewire listed but that's all. I honestly have no idea what this is supposed to look like or what I should be looking for. Thanks again.
    Did you click on the Firewire word? What do see to the right of it?
    If you see something like the picture and nothing below the "Maximum speed" line, then the camera is not being "seen" by your mac. Otherwise a description of the camera should appear in the right pane.

    Is the manually manage music and videos option still selected from under the iPod's Summary tab?  What happens when you try to drag files over to your iPod Classic?

  • Can't get "movies" in my iTunes onto my Apple TV (1st generation)...

    I have a series of videos of differing lengths that are in my iTunes Movies folder/category. They play in iTunes with no problem, but many will not appear on my Apple TV.
    I've tried highlighting them and clicking Advanced-Create iPad or Apple TV Version, but I get an error message stating "Filename" could not be converted because this file does not allow saving or conversion.
    These videos are from various sites and are in various formats (some mpeg 4, some .mov). I downloaded them legally and have the right to have them.
    What is causing this? How can I get them onto my Apple TV hard drive so I can play them?

    the appletv will only display media in formats it support

  • Can't Get Movies to Play!!!! Please Help!!!!

    I received a 32GB iPod Touch yesterday as a gift. I also recently bought the movie The Hangover and downloaded the Digital Copy into iTunes. I can watch the movie in iTunes, but it will not play on my iPod Touch. It shows that it is on my iPod Touch, but when I click on it, it says "The movie could not be played". I was wondering if anyone knew what was wrong or if you are having the same problem? Everything else on my iPod is working great! Also, i synced the movies to my old iPod and the movies work (My battery just does not last long at all on my old one.) I have a 14 hour flight Thursday morning so I would really appreciate being able to watch movies and having something to do haha! Thanks for the help!

    Didn't you just ask this same question a half hour ago?
    You do not need to keep posting the same question. Your fellow ipod answer as their time and ability to help allow.

  • Can't get Movie Exported in Quicktime format to work in iWeb and Website

    Help!! I just completed a movie in iMovie and exported it in Quicktime Format. It loads into iWeb seamlessly, and I can view it in iweb, but once I save the files to a folder and then the folder to my host (Godaddy, for what it is worth) I get the Blue Quicktime Q with the question mark in the middle. I have downloadd the movie in different sizes, from as much as 19 Mb down to 4.5 Mb and it is all the same. It is for a real estate listing I have. For what it is worth. I created my first website in iweb 1.0 and imovie 06 (http:www.1055Prince.info) and it works great. I created my second website with iweb 2.0 and imovie 08 (http:www.1045Prince.info) and it will not work. I like the design of the 2.0 template better, but I like the fact that the 1.0 template is working flawlessly. Any help is greatly appreciated.

    iWeb writes very clever page code and your page had a very common error.
    http://www.1045prince.info/VideoTour_files/VideoTour.js is a file created by iWeb that points to your QuickTime file.
    If you use the Finder to edit the name prior to Publishing in iWeb things will be just fine and the link will work as designed. Do not edit any file name before uploading to your server and make sure your files use "Web safe" naming schemes (no spaces, punctuation or illegal characters) and the proper file extension.

  • Can't get movie out of FCP

    Hi, I have just created a fairly simple 75-minute movie in FCP 7, and for the life of me, I can't send it to Compressor to make files for creating a DVD. Compressor will do its thing for a few hours, then "Failed". Then out of curiosity, I tried to export it to a simple Final Cut Movie (not 'self-contained') and all I got was spinning pie. I just don't know what to try to get this movie out of FCP! Any suggestions would be most welcome.
    Thanks, Bob
    MacPro  10.6.6

    It will be useful if you give us some specifics.
    What is the codec of the source media? H.264, HDV, DVCProHD or ? (Quicktime is not a codec. It is a wrapper that can support a wide range of codecs.)
    Where is the media stored? System hard drive, second internal drive, external firewire drive, or ?
    What are the timeline setttings? What codec is it using?
    Your explaination of your process is very unclear. Have you tried exporting the project using "Current settings" and "self contained". Then take that file into Compressor.

  • HT201272 Can't get movie rental from iPad air to show up on iPhone 4S?

    How do you get a movie rental on iPad air to show up on iPhone 4S so we can watch??

    You can't, rentals are one-time only downloads, and from http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1657 :
    If you download a rented movie on your computer: You can transfer it to a device such as your Apple TV (1st generation), iPhone, iPad, or iPod if it’s a standard-definition film (movies in HD can only be watched on your computer, iPad, iPhone 4 or later, iPod touch (4th generation or later), or Apple TV). Once you move the movie from your computer to a device, the movie will disappear from your computer's iTunes library. You can move the movie between devices as many times as you wish during the rental period, but the movie can only exist on one device at a time.
    If you download a rented movie on your iPhone 4 or later, iPad, iPod touch (4th generation or later), or Apple TV: It is not transferable to any other device or computer.

  • Can't get movie loader to work

    I'm having trouble getting my Flash movie loader file to work. I created 3 test movies (1.swf, 2.swf, 3.swf). Each of the test file is a second long. All they do is display a number. In my loader file, I load the test files a second apart. The first two movies load just fine, but instead of loading the third movie the loader loops back to the first frame and starts over. The last movie is skipped even when I switch the order. For instance, 3.swf doesn't load for 1-2-3, and 1.swf doesn't load for 3-2-1. Below is the actionscript I used. Anyone know how I can fix this problem? I'm using Flash CS5. Thanks
    stop();
    unloadMovieNum(1);
    loadMovieNum("1.swf", 1);
    stop();
    unloadMovieNum(1);
    loadMovieNum("2.swf", 1);
    stop();
    unloadMovieNum(1);
    loadMovieNum("3.swf", 1);

    The reason I'm a bit confused is you're using stop(), so I'm wondering how your timeline is to progress beyond that. Either the loaded SWFs must communicate with the main timeline or your main timeline is watching the _currentFrame of the loaded clip waiting for it to reach _totalFrames.
    Here's an example (sans-stop()) in AS2 saved down to CS5 (I can't go lower) that does what you're describing and works perfectly fine for me:
    http://www.ertp.com/tmp/LoadMovieNum.zip
    Is there a difference between this and what you're doing and does this simple example work for you?

  • Can't get movies I already rented on apple tv to download or show on my ipad

    I rented a movie form iTunes it's taking forever to download to my apple tv so I tried downloading it to my iPad instead but apple is asking me to rent the movie again. Is there a way to watch movies I rented on any apple device ?

    From http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1415 :
    You can move the rental between devices as many times as you wish during the rental period. However, the movie can only be played on one device at a time. If you rent a movie on an iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, or Apple TV, it is not transferable to any other device and you must watch it on that device.

  • How can I get movies from my sony DSC-HX9V in AVCHD format to the mac?

    I have recently received a Sony DSC-HX9V camera. It does movie recordings in AVCHD format. Is there a simple way to transfer these to imovie or elsewhere on my Mac? Any ideas please. Thank you.

    Take a look at this compatibility chart:
    http://help.apple.com/imovie/cameras/en/index.html?lang=en_US
    and read the notes re. your model. So, the next best thing then would be MPEG Streamclip (free) which should be able to convert your footage to something iMovie can work with. Note: You may need to purchase the MPEG2 Playback Component from the Apple Store (less than $20) which may be needed (that depends on a) your OS version and b) the MPEG Streamclip version).

  • Can't get movies/pics from iPhoto into iMovie

    Hello, I have read a lot of other threads but haven't yet found this answer. I am new to Mac as of 1/09 and just started using iMovie one year later (this month). I go back and forth between a Sony Cyber-shot DCS-W230 and a Sanyo VPC-TH1. Both do stills as well as video. I have a lot both on iPhoto as well as Picasa from the past year. Only one movie actually went into my iMovie library and a few pics. Can anyone tell me why this is? I haven't (knowingly) changed any settings. I can view them in (iPhoto and Picasa) including watching the movies. Why won't they import into iMovie? I tried using Streamline but it's very confusing and the one 25 minute movie I got to convert took hours and didn't even line up with the audio so that was a waste. If they weren't compatible with iMac wouldn't it just not work at all instead of some? I've spent hours experimenting and reading instructions, forums, I've called Apple support, etc. and I'm so frustrated because I still don't have an answer. If someone could help me resolve this I would appreciate it. Thanks.

    Importing my own little movies from my SD550, I used to see them in .MOV format. Now I see them as .AVI files and QuickTime cannot open them anymore. As a matter of fact, *nothing* can open these files anymore, and I have tried Flip4Mac, DivXPlayer,MoviePod, iMovieHD and Windows Media for Mac. Guess what: the only way I can open them is with iMovie 7.0.1.
    So I suspect something in the Mac core is transforming my imports into files that are difficult to read. QuickTime perhaps?

  • Can't get movie to loop

    Hi. I made a slideshow in iPhoto, then shared it into iDVD. I want the slideshow to start automatically when the disk is inserted in the DVD player, and also to loop continuously, so I dropped the movie into the autoplay square in the DVD map. Somewhere along the way I also selected "loop" from the advanced window. I thought I was all set, so I burned the DVD. The disk plays automatically, but at the end of the first run through, it seems to go to the "Revolution" menu screen, rather than looping back through. Any thoughts on what I might have done wrong? The "inspector" doesn't have any box (checked or unchecked) for "loop"; from what I've read there should be a "loop" option here, no?
    Thanks very much!

    Go to the map view. Click on the autoplay box and it will turn blue.
    Click on the i at the bottom left of the iDVD window. This will bring up the information window where you can select loop for that box.

  • How can I get movie trailers out of Podcast Library?

    I recently started watching movie trailers in iTunes - it's great fun. I decided a good way to keep track of movies I'd like to watch is by downloading the trailer. However, some of the trailers are showing up in my Podcast Library - I really don't want to see them there. They have the right genre - Movie Trailer - and I don't know any other tricks to get them out of there. Does anyone know how to do this?
    Thanks!

    Open the enclosing folder, choose Go to Folder from the Finder's Go menu, and provide Library as the path.
