Can't get my design to work, could someone lend some guidance?

Hi,
I'm a complete newb to Labview v8.6.1.  I come from the .Net world and I'm having difficulty making the transition, some guidance would be greatly appreciated.
I've attached my .vi that I came up with but I've hit a wall and I can't get this design to work correctly:
I have two buttons on my .vi, a Sample button and a Calibrate button.  When I hit the sample button, I need to write out the values from my linear sensors to a file, this actually works fine.  When I hit the calibrate button, I need to get the values from the sensors, store them in an array for later use.  This works fine as well.
The problem I'm having is I need to use the stored values in the array in my Sample button logic which doesn't work because I don't have cases for my "False" condition.
Am I even close to the right solution here?
Thanks for any guidance.

Do you have access to the Event Structure?  It will work a lot better for GUI like this instead of polling the buttons (and using a lot of CPU).
You should look into shift registers to store your calibration array.  I think the resources nyc gave should mention these somewhere in there.

  • Can't get popup window to work, could use code help.

This is the first time I've tried to open a popup window in
flash, and I can't get it to work. The site I'm building has the
navigation buttons contained in an animated movie clip. All of the
navigation buttons work fine. But there's a link that the company
wants me to add that opens a window to another site who hosts a
video commercial for the company (it has to be a link to the other
site, it can't be added directly to the customers site).
The link the other company sent me is for javascript (I'll
include it in the attached code), and the code works great if I
just insert the javascript in the html. But I wanted to try and get
the link in the Flash menu. I've tried several versions of the
code, from applying it directly to the button to naming an instance
of it and attaching the actionscript in the movie clip. When I'm
done, I get two different problems. On my XP machine, I get a
warning error about the flash trying to open something to another
server. On my Vista machine, nothing happens at all.
Anyway, I'm including the original javascript and several
versions of the actionscript I've tried (with the actual site
information replaced with "fakeurl.com", wasn't sure how these
forums felt about including site info). Any help at all would be
greatly appreciated. I've searched and searched for about a week,
and I'm tempted to just do away with the Flash button and use a
cheesy javascript button for this one link.
    Thanks!

Select your text that you want to act as a trigger to close the window,
just as if you were going to create a link.
Then paste the following line of code into the link Inspector:
    javascript:self.close();
    That should do the trick.

On my notebook with an Intel 945GM card, I can't get direct rendering to work.
    I'm using the 'xf86-video-intel' driver.

The standard arch kernel includes all the required modules, at most you need to load them explicitly listing them in MODULES in /etc/rc.conf
You need also the hw specific stuff, that is i915 and intelagp. Check lsmod and see if they are loaded. If they are not, inspect dmesg and see if udev tries to load them and fails for some reason.
I remember some cases where intelagp and i915 are not loaded by udev in the right order, if this is your case you can try to list them in the right order in MODULES.
There should be no need to recompile the kernel or to install a particular version of dri (just use the arch packages for mesa, libdrm etc; but I guess you have them already)

  • Can't get video chat to work outside of LAN...

    Hello,
I can't get video chat to work.
All computers, LAN and WAN are running the latest iChat under 10.4 (including latest updates).
Within our LAN, via Bonjour, everything is fine.
I'm now trying to set up an offsite Intel iMac (10.4) and I can't connect via video chat with them.
I've had this problem in the past and eventually gave up (so much for "it just works" - I've spent the last 10+ years dealing with Macs and Mac-based networking, I can't imagine "my dad" figuring this all out). Trying again with fingers crossed...?
If someone could help, it'd be much appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Kristin.
The studio router/firewall is a SonicWall TZ 170 Standard.
This router has a static IP.
All suggested ports on the SonicWall are set up correctly to allow in/out from our LAN.
All computers on the LAN have static IP addresses.
Quicktime streaming settings set as suggested.
OS X Firewall on all computers = OFF.
No iChat add-ons on any computers.
    Internet connection speed = 7404 kb/s
    The offside router/firewall is a LinkSys WRT54G
This router does not have a static IP.
DMZ is ON and set to the only computer connected to it.
Computer has a static IP address.
Quicktime streaming settings set as suggested.
OS X Firewall on all computers = OFF.
    No iChat add-ons on computer.
    Internet connection speed = 5116 kb/s
If any more information is required to help you help me, just let me know!

Does the TZ170 have UPnP or Port Triggering then ?
I can not see that it does here
Opening the ports in the manner listed on that link will only allow one computer (IP) to use the open ports.
The Linksys is router and you have not mentioned what the modem is doing at that end.
Why not use UPnP here ? The Linksys does it (on the Administration page)
Most likely this needs the Respond to Anonymous Pings checked on the Security page.

  • Installed Windows 7 on my IMac, now I can't get Apple OS to work

Installed Windows 7 on my IMac, now I can't get Apple OS to work, I have tried booting with Snow Leopard disc in and nothing works. I had trouble from the start but now nothing works except Windows 7, sound wont work etc. etc.

I originally tried installing Widows 7 so I could run my Flight Simulator X on the IMac I got from my daughter and I used BootCamp and had partitioned it at about 4GB for windows and the first thing I got was I had to put a bootable disc in and neither the windows 7 or Snow Leopard would work. Then I got Windows 7 to work but I can't get Snow Leopard to run, when I put the disc in it says that it not supported. Of course windows wont show me anyother areas of the disc that I could try to get to, the other side of the partition I guess. I have tried holding the C key down on reboot and that doesn't work. I hope this gives you a little more insight as to what is going on. Thanks Bill

  • How can I get my speaker to work again?

How can I get my speaker to work again? I've tried turning my phone off and on, hard reset, removing SIM, cleaning out dust, using the hair dryer, network reset, cleaning headphone port, made sure the phone was not on vibrate, and made sure "Change with buttons" was on. There was no liquid/moisture damage.  I was watching a video on youtube and all of a sudden my speaker went out. If I tap on the speaker it goes in and out but does not stay on/loud.

Do you get sound in any apps e.g. in Music and Videos but not notifications or sound in other apps ? If you do get sound in Music and Videos then have you got notifications muted ? Only notifications (including games) get muted, so the Music and Videos apps, and headphones, still get sound.
Depending on what you've got Settings > General > Use Side Switch To set to (mute or rotation lock), then you can mute notifications by the switch on the right hand side of the iPad above the volume switch, or via the taskbar : double-click the home button; slide from the left; and it's the icon far left; press home again to exit the taskbar. The function that isn't on the side switch is set via the taskbar instead : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4085
If you don't get sound in any apps then have you could try a soft-reset to see if you get sound after the iPad has restarted : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

I do backup with iCloud.  I can't wait until the new iMac is available so that I can once again have my files in more than 1 location without needing to rely solely on the cloud.
I also rely on iTunes and my MacBook and Time Machine as well as backing up to iCloud. I know many users know have gone totally PC free, but I chose to use iCloud merely as my third backup.
I assume that the restore would result in my ability to open Pages and Numbers and fix the problem with deleting apps, but this would also mean that if my Numbers documents still exist solely within the app and are just not on iCloud for some reason that they would be gone forever.  Is that right?
In a word, yes. In a little more detail.... When you restore from an iCloud backup, you must erase the device and start all over again. There is no other way to access the backup in iCloud without erasing the device. Consequently, you are starting all over again. Therefore, it would also be my assumption that Pages and Numbers will work again and that the deleting apps issues would be fixed as well.
If the documents are not in the backup, and you do not have a backup elsewhere, the documents could be gone forever.

  • Can't get "Edit Colors" to work in Illustrator CC

Hi. My boss just added Illustrator CC to my mac.
I'm not sure why, but I can't get "Edit Colors" to work in Illustrator CC.
When I select an object and try to reassign colors in the "Edit Colors" menu, the submenus are greyed out.
It works fine on Illustrator CS5, so I'm not sure what the problem is in CC.
Is this a bug or just a limitation of the CC trial period?
Can anyone please help with this?

OK, so Trial Period isn't the problem? Thanks for that info.
I'm working with customer supplied files and often have to reassign colors to artwork for different projects.
I can assign colors with the color panel, but complex designs containing multiple pieces and layers can take for-ev-er to reassign colors that way.
Like I said, "edit colors" works fine in CS5, so I'm trying to figure out why it's not working in CC.
Appreciate any help the forum members can provide.

  • How can I get Activity Monitor to work?

I've searched the discussions to no avail, so I have this question: how can I get Activity Monitor to work? It launches and its window opens but then the spinning beachball appears. I've checked the Console and it shows that the Activity Monitor is attempting to fully launch but then it "exits" and then it tries to fully start up again, goes into an infinite loop or something. Issued a "force quit" succesfully. I've deleted the Activity Monitor's .plist, no joy. What to do? Thanks!
    I'm running 10.6.8 on a MacBook Pro (late 2011)

I wish I could be more positive but I have no experience of MacBook Pros and whether their demands on the system differ from my simple iMac.   If you have the time to scour through 'More like this' ( to the right of your initial post) and the links within it, you may find leads.
I also found this thread via Google which in parts seems to echo your troubles.  I hope it helps; thank you for the star.

  • How can i get fallout 2 to work

How can I get Fallout 2 to work on my mac book pro.  I just got my computer and the graphics are all messed up.  I tryed installing it on a friends computer and it worked.  He has a mac book pro that is only about 8 months old.  Why wont it work on mine?

Ask your fellow MBP owners -
    MacBook Pro
    http://www.apple.com/support/macbookpro
I hope none of you are getting it off torrents, always trouble in that dept.
Maybe it needs a patch for yours and ATI 6xxxx mobility.
It helps to know the specs, and model number (17"? etc)
    http://support.apple.com/specs/#macbookpro
    Graphics and video support
AMD Radeon HD 6490M graphics processor with 256MB of GDDR5 memory on 2.0GHz configuration; or AMD Radeon HD 6750M graphics processor with 1GB of GDDR5 memory on 2.2GHz configuration
Intel HD Graphics 3000 with 384MB of DDR3 SDRAM shared with main memory5
    Automatic graphics switching
Dual display and video mirroring: Simultaneously supports full native resolution on the built-in display and up to 2560 by 1600 pixels on an external display, both at millions of colors
so it could be getting messed up with using the Intel graphics - for all I don't know -  or you have 6490M with just 256MB

  • Is there an adapter can i get so square will work with the otterbox i have on my iphone

Is there an adapter can i get so square will work with the otterbox i have on my iphone, I love the otterbox and want to keep it on all the time. not only does it protect my iphone it, it makes it easy for me to hold because I have trouble with my hands. please help

That's a good question. The main problem with the Square readers is that the plug is designed to send data to devices, rendering most headphone extension cables useless.
Reading another forum I saw this: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001BN7XSM
Give that a try. Claims to work perfectly for Square. NOT headphones.

    Hi Sister Kate,
If you change the Apple ID you are using on an iPhone or other iOS device, there are several places you need to change it on the device. See this article -
