You might try a forced shutdown to begin with, hold down the top and home buttons together until the device shuts down, then restart it.

Have anyone experience their ipad not turning on even while its plugged into the computer or wall socket?

There can be many reasons why this is occuring. Does itunes detect it? Does the computer make any noises when you plug it in? You could try holding the home button then plugging it into the computer (it will turn it on to restore mode) there are too many things that can be causing this. We need more information.

I can't get my Apple ipad to turn on, any ideas? Is there a reset?

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try another cable
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • How can I get my iPad to turn on?

Ipad 3 about 2 years old. Battery ran low a couple of days ago and now it won't turn on despite supposedly being charged.
When usb'd into my computer it occasionally must flciker into life because it asks me if I want to import my photos. If I press cancel that is the end of it. If I press import (or upload?) it says I can't becasuse the ipad is locked.
I've tried all theusual things like pressing home button and the other button together. No response at all.
Is there a way of unlocking it somehow from my laptop?
    Any help appreciated!

    FORCE IPAD INTO RECOVERY MODE
    1. Turn off iPad
    2. Turn on computer and launch iTunes (make sure you have the latest version of iTune)
    3. Plug USB cable into computer's USB port
    4. Hold Home button down and plug the other end of cable into docking port.
DO NOT RELEASE BUTTON until you see picture of iTunes and plug
    5. Release Home button.
    ON COMPUTER
    6. iTunes has detected iPad in recovery mode. You must restore this iPad before it can be used with iTunes.
    7. Select "Restore iPad"...
    Note:
    1. Data will be lost if you do not have backup
    2. You must follow step 1 to step 4 VERY CLOSELY.

  • Why do I have two title bars - one with the title of the page I'm looking at and another with the new orange drop down menu? Plus I can't get FF4 to save my tabs, even when I go to about:config, why is that?

I downloaded FF4, thinking that it would merely update from my previous installation, but all my tabs were gone. FF looks really weird - here is a link to a picture of it: http://tinypic.com/r/2mwdus4/7 - I have two title bars, my bookmarks toolbar is missing and the tabs are on the bottom. If I go to view => toolbars and click one of them, suddenly the second title bar (with the orange menu) disappers and my bookmarks toolbar comes back (even if I don't click on it in "view"). I can't get the browser to remember my tabs between sessions even though I set it to remember them in my settings. I even changed the browser.showQuitWarning to true in about:config, but it didn't work. What is going on?

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).
    * Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

  • Can't get flash video to stop looping even when i use stop(); in last frame

I have only just started using Flash so im sure im doing this wrong but in tutorials i have watched to stop the video looping you put stop(); in the last frame. I have done that but the video still loops... Anyone know where i am going wrong?

If the question is related to Adobe Presenter, I would recommend associating the SWF with the presentation play bar. This will allow the player to control the playback of the SWF and can move on to the next slide when the amount of silence (ideally equal to the duration of the SWF) has passed.
If this is a question related to Flash, I'll move it to the correct forum.

  • MY iPhone will not turn on even when plugged in.

My 3gs was working. I plugged into my Mac to charge. Came back and the phone is unresponsive. Tried turning on using one and both buttons, NOTHING. When it is plugged in still nothing. Tried letting it charge and back of iPhone (probably battery) is very hot.

You can't, unless you're technically expert and have all the necessary test equipment and tools, and don't mind voiding any existing warranty.  Otherwise, take it to Apple or whoever provides iPhone service in your area.
Before going that route, try charging it with the AC adaptor for at least 1 hour.  If it gets hot again, stop ASAP.

  • MBP will not turn on even when plugged in

My laptop was not plugged in but had plenty of battery (it's only 6 months old and has a great battery life - I don't leave it constantly plugged in and let the battery die all the way often) when all of a sudden it just shut off. I don't think I heard any beeps or sounds. I tried to plug it in but nothing; the charger light just flashes amber and green very dimly and the battery indicator on the side shows a dead battery. No liquids were near the laptop and I'm very very careful about overheating. I tried to SMC reset. I borrowed a roommate's charger but still nothing.
I did plug in my iPhone USB cable to it right before it turned off, I wonder if that short circuited it or something? I live over an hour from the nearest Apple store and I'm a college student with no car anyway. Already tried my school tech support which told me they don't deal with hardware problems and plus last time I sent a laptop there they charged me almost $300 to tell me to get a new computer and retrieved almost none of my files.

  • Macbook Pro 13" won't turn on even when plugged in and battery in "good health".

It started the day before yesterday: My husband called to tell me that the Macbook wasn't turning on.  So I told him to hook it up to the charger and plug it in; according to him, the charger light was on but the laptop still wouldn't power on.  Then I told him to hold down the power butten for a couple of seconds (about 5 or more) then release it; again, it still wouldn't power on.
When I arrived home, I took it to a friend and had him take a look at it.  (There are no Apple stores on Guam and I bought my laptop from a military base in the States, so I couldn't just "take it to the store".)  He opened it up, disconnected and reconnected the battery, resecured the back panel, and plugged it back in.  The Macbook powered on.  At that time, he suggested downloading the Battery Health App and following the instructions to calibrate my battery gauge - which I did.  By the time I finished calibrating the battery, the stats indidcated that my Battery Healthy was still pretty good (92.something %).  Afterward I did poked around a few forums (including Apple) and found a few threads suggesting to reset the SMC; so I did (using the instructions for the Macbooks with the built-in batteries: Shut down laptop, plug in the charger and hook it up to a powersource, press option+control+shift+power button at the same time then release, and the press the power button).  After all that trouble, the laptop still remains down.
After being misled by the Battery Health App, I'm wondering if it's just a case of "dead battery".

The MBP should work with the power adapter connected.
Put your serial number of your MBP in the entry field in this web site:
    http://www.chipmunk.nl/klantenservice/applemodel.html
This will provide you with the exact model MBP information.  The OS that you show (which may be incorrect) indicates that it is Tiger.  If that is the case, the SMC that you performed was using the wrong directions.  This way we may be able to clarify this situation.
    Ciao.

  • My MacBook Pro isn't turning on, at first it would only turn on when being plugged in by its charger and continued to stay on 0% and now it won't even turn on even when plugged into charger. What's wrong with it?

    Please help

Is this an early 2008 MacBook Pro?
I observed two of these machines work perfectly for several months (different users and workflows) with no issues and with normal shutdown. The next press of the power button is greeted by about 3 - 5 seconds of DVD click, hard disk seek, and then nothing. Different batteries, chargers, and memory chips were used with no machine revival.
As these two machines were fully depreciated employer hardware, they were scrapped, rather than provided to Apple for hardware diagnostic and likely expensive repair.
