I have tried to format with windows..everything I think, if anyone has any ideas please helpme. I am by no means an expert.

hi lidea!
if you're connecting to a Toshiba laptop, first see:
iPod not recognized correctly on Toshiba laptop
but otherwise, here's a good place to start:
"Disk cannot be read from or written to" when syncing iPod or "Firmware update failure" error when updating or restoring iPod

  • PLEASE HELP?  Desperate, I can't get the iPod to Restore!!

In desperation, I want to restore my ipod, as nothing else I have tried has worked.
I cannot get to that step. I have done everything I am supposed to, going by Apple's list, and nothing has worked.
I have uninstalled iTunes, and reinstalled. I have gone down their list, and nothing is working, the updater won't recognize that the ipod is connected, even though it is, and is showing up in Windows.
    PLEASE HELP ME?

Have you tried dropping your Ipod? I read it on these forums and decided to try it myself. I dropped it 3 times from waist height onto a carpet. It has worked fine since.

  • IOS 5 update forced ipod touch into recovery mode which I can't get it out of! Help please!

Hi, I recently updated my ipod touch 3rd gen to ios5 (as prompted by itunes - assumed a standard software update). Immediately afterwards, my ipod went into recovery mode, and initially itunes recognised this and tried to restore it unsuccessfully. Not any more! Now it is either off, or displays the 'connect to itunes' logo when I connect it to the computer via USB lead.
I've tried uninstalling and re-installing itunes but this hasn't helped it recognise the ipod.
I don't think I've managed to go 3 months without having to do something like reinstall the drivers etc on this ipod, don't know why i expected this update to be any different!
    Can anyone help?
    Thanks in advance!

Try disabling all security software and firewalls, then try again.
Or try from a different computer.
This error is a pain in the butt and a new issue, too. I'm sorry.

  • Can`t get the ipod to restore

Every time I try to restore my ipod 5th gen it says the computer is not hooked up to the internet. It is set for mac, and I need to set it to windows... I did get the software with it that was needed to load on my computer because I purchased it on ebay.. any ideals please

  • ITunes doesn't recognise iPod after restore: help please?

I've just restored, done the connect to power instead of pc (windows based), is reconnected to usb 2 port, but iTunes isn't showing any screen to resetup my iPod, and iPod saying "do not disconnect". What now? Could it be automatically updating without showing in iTunes? This all came about when I tried to do an update of software, which after download & updating pc, only showed "restore" in the iPod updater window.
    HELP!

    Why delete them?
    Have you tried here:

  • Can't get actionListener to work. Help please.

      <managed-bean-class>UI.Navigation.MenuBean</managed-bean-class>
      <managed-bean-scope>request</managed-bean-scope>
</managed-bean>I either get nothing or I get the following depending on how I set UI.Navigation.MenuBean for the .jsp or faces-config.xml.
    javax.servlet.ServletException: getPostReview2
         javax.faces.webapp.FacesServlet.service(FacesServlet.java:209)
    root cause
javax.faces.el.MethodNotFoundException: getPostReview2The rest of the code doesn't do anything except set and get, and I don't use those methods.

Thank you so much for the reply. I see now. I have a HTMLcommand button and I would like it to change images when I click, but I couldn't get the actionlistener to work. So the actionlistener has to return void, but then how do you do a <from-action> followed by a <from-outcome> like
    <from-action>executedMethod</from-action>
              <from-outcome>success</from-outcome>

I have not tried that app. But have you gotten Face Time to work with another iPh4? It may be that you need to go to Settings > Phone and enable Face Time (set it to ON).

  • Can't get iBook xorg to work - Help please!

I'm so close to having Arch linux ppc installed, but 'X -config' fails. I've tried several different changes to xorg.conf, but nothing seems to work. I've attached the Xorg.0.log and xorg.conf. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks!

I'm no expert, but try removing the "fbdevhw" module from your xorg. I'd look over my PPC xorg.conf, but I don't have access to it currently.
    UPDATE:
I noticed you are looking for a working config on the other post, I'll post mine when I have a chance.

The voicemail system used for the iPhone is different from the voicemail system used on the rest of the Verizon Wireless network. When you activate the iPhone, you lose your saved voicemails from the other system. When you activate a non-iphone, you lose any saved voicemails from the iPhone voicemail system too.

  • HT201413 I have restored and updated my ipod from recovery mode however I still have the usb cord and itunes icon on the ipod when it is switched on. How can I get my ipod to work again?

I have restored and updated my ipod from recovery mode, however I still have the usb cord and itunes icon on the ipod when it is switched on. How can I get my ipod to work again? I have updated and restored 5 times! When connected to itunes it only shows the summary page saying ipod in recovery mode.

    Fixed it!
    1. Made sure itunes software was up to date
    2. Pressed and held 'home' button and 'on-off' button at the same time for about 10 seconds till ipod reset (I hadn't done this step previously)
    3. Connected to itunes
    4. Pressed restore and update ipod
Update successful and ipod taken out of recovery mode

Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.

    - Did the other users who successfully connected have iDevices?
    - Frequently you have to open Safari/a browser and agree to the terms and conditions of the wifi spot before yo can get to the internet.  Some wifi spots use Flash or Java to log on which the iPod (and other iDevices) do not support)
