Can't get my Mail app to work. Just have spinning disc and 'Mail not reponding'

The mail app on my Macbook Pro - OS X 10.7.5 - has stopped working. When I open it all I get is a spinning disc. If I choose to force quit the box says Mail not responding. Any ideas gratefully received.

You’ll probably find this information useful to you, regarding reinstalling OS X:

Important: To reinstall Mac OS X, you need to be connected to the Internet.
Choose Apple menu > Restart, and then hold down the Command (⌘) and R keys while the computer restarts.
Select “Disk Utility,” and then click Continue.
Select your startup disk from the list on the left, and then click the Erase tab.
From the Format pop-up menu, select Mac OS Extended (Journaled), type a name for your disk, and then click Erase.
After the disk has been erased, choose Disk Utility > Quit Disk Utility.
If you’re not connected to the Internet, choose a network from the Wi-Fi menu in the right corner of the menu bar (in the top-right corner of the screen).
Select Reinstall Mac OS X, click Continue, and then follow the instructions.For more information about reinstalling Mac OS X, see this help topic:

Can't get the desktop app to work - forced to sign out and it shuts down

I was unable to install the most recent update for Adobe Story, so I uninstalled the app, went online and re-downloaded. Now, when I try to launch I get an error that user preferences weren't found, and it forces me to sign out, so I can't work offline.
I've tried a system restore, but it did not fix the problem. At this point, I am unable to use Adobe Story on my computer, just online.
Please help me fix this.

I solved this myself by creating a second Adobe ID, sharing my project files with myself under the new ID.
The app works with the new ID I created.

From a Catherine to Katherine -- Had the exact same problem!! I had to enable Java twice - both in Safari and then on the MacBookAir itself.

Have you tried to force the Video app to quit and then relaunch?
If the issue affects only a single app, try closing just that app:
Press the Home button to return to the Home screen.
Double-tap the Home button to display recent apps.
Tap and hold the affected app until the red minus appears.
Tap the red minus to quit the app.
Press the Home button, then restart the app.
You can also try restarting the iPhone.

Well, if it goes to VM immediately the call isn't reaching your phone, so no wonder it isn't ringing. Do you see a network displayed in the upper left of the screen? Have you activated the phone by connecting to a computer with the latest version of iTunes? Have you called your carrier to make sure they have provisioned it correctly?

I have an LR4 disc and key. LR5 is still intact and running on my laptop, but I need to use LR% on my desktop PC. I need an address to try a download so that I can try the key which might fit it. Any ideas how I can transfer the program (with key) from my laptop? Any other ideas?

Can't get simple Struts app to work when using DCs

I need to use Struts to develop web apps. I took a simple example app of 3 screens and was able to get it working fine in local development.
Then I tried to do same thing using DCs in a Track. The first page of the app is a jsp called login.jsp. That file has the following two lines at the beginning:

<%@ taglib uri="/WEB-INF/struts-bean.tld" prefix="bean" %>
This works fine in local development. However in the DC I get the following error when I try to run login.jsp:
Application error occurs during processing the request.
Internal error while parsing JSP page C:/usr/sap/J2E/JC00/j2ee/cluster/server0/apps/com.firstenergycorp/pilot_webapp~strutsear/servlet_jsp/struts/root/login.jsp.
Details: com.sap.engine.services.servlets_jsp.lib.jspparser.exceptions.JspParseException: Tag library descriptor cannot be found for uri:{1}. The ID of this error is
Exception id: [000F1FCC15FA00450000000F00000CA4000400A8BC089FE5].
The struts-html.tld and struts-bean.tld are both in the WEB-INF folder of my Web Module DC.
So why am I getting this error?

we are using Struts in our application without any problems. But we don't deploy via JDI but build the ear-files in Netweaver Studio and deploy with SDM.
I guess the tag libs are not added properly to the war file of your productive environment. Can you check whether they contain the files in the correct path ?
And you shouldn't mix Tag Libs and struts.jar of different versions (e.g 1.0 + 1.2). That will result in the very same error message.

Can't get the guessNumber app to work in RAD

Hi, I am unable to get the guessNumber sample application to work in my development environment (Rational Developer/Eclipse).
My servlet mapping:

I can't get my iBlacklist app to work on my iPhone. Can you help?

I downloaded the iBlacklist app from the App Store to my iPhone 4. It looks nothing like the app I have seen on some of the You Tube videos explaining how the app works. And of course, it doesn't work!! Am I missing something and has anyone else had the same problem? I also downloaded the iBlacklist manager to see if that was my problem, but no it wasn;t. They got me twice since neither app works.

You're going to have to talk to the developer. I can't say I'm surprised, though. Ratings on the app store are pretty much universally bad. 237 1 Star ratings out of 258... 21 people, less than 1% gave it better than a 1 star rating. That should have been a clue.

Where can I get a Kindle app to work on my iPad 1?

I am helping at the local public library. Some patrons have a first generation iPad and want to borrow books using the Kindle Reader or Over Drive Media Console. Seems the apps are not available for IOS 5.1. Any idea where I can find older apps that they can download?

One way is to use the Kindle Cloud Reader as per:

Another way is for your patrons to download the latest Kindle app on to their computer. On the iPad it should appear in the App Store under 'Purchased". Once selected it will state that it is incompatible and an older version is available.

Can't get iPhone Remote App to work

I'm running iTunes 10.7 on OS-X10.6.8 and trying control using an iPhone 4S running iOS 6.0.1. In theory I should be able to link via my AppleID OR by some other passcode authenticated technique. Neither seem to work at all.
Both seem to be happily talking to iTunes/AppStore and are on the same network.
Any ideas or recommended threads to look at?

HT4061 I can't get my touch screen to work. Have tried to reset, but nothing happens. A box appears round the date intermittently and round the 'slide' to open if I try to do as instructed. Help!

Please help me get my i phone screen to respond. I have suddenly found it won't respond to touch and I can't answer calls or read messages. I've tried the reset by holding the home button and off button till the logo appears to no avail. A box sometimes comes round the date and the slide to unlock sign. Any help would be great!

Try a full restore. If the screen is still unresponsive after the reset then its a harsware problem.
