Can't get my page to publish

Question

I keep publishing my content just as I'm told to, but it
won't show up on the page. I just get the default page with a
number of folders.
Any ideas on what's wrong? FYI, I use host gator

You are seeing a directory listing?
Are the files you've created and uploaded showing in this
directory listing?
If they aren't- that's a different issue and ask about it.
If they are:
The default page has to have a filename that is on the
server's list of
default files.
most hosting-
index.htm or index.html
or index.xxx where xxx is the file extension for a supported
server side
scripting type.
rarely- you may run into a host where the default page
filename has to be
default.htm
So- what to do:
Go to the dw files panel, and in the local side, find and
rename the page
you want to be the site's "homepage" to index.htm or
index.html
click yes for dw to fix other links to this file.
then upload all changed files and check the remote site.
