Can't get Myspace on my new machine

Ok. I got a new alu 20" imac in August. 1 GB RAM, 2.4 GHz, 320 GB HDD, using wireless connection. I've never been able to get myspace on this machine in 3-4 months of use. Firefox returns with "this page could not be found" and Safari has a "Apache web server error" thingy. I did mess with the hosts file once, but I didn't do anything with myspace, and I deleted the hosts file (I can't find it, anyway). I was able to get the page on my old Mac OS 9 blue iMac and on a windows computer I had to use when the old one's keyboard died. It seems it might be Mac OS X, the wireless, or the hosts file.
Any help?

Solved. Found my hosts file, and somehow www.myspace.com was on there. Twice!

Most websites place what’s called a “cookie” on visitors’ computers, which is used to track them and record their preferences. It’s how websites can remember your password, for example. Like your web browsing history, they’re easy to delete. If you use your browser’s “private browsing” mode they’re never saved in the first place — and advertisers can't track you, and other computer users can't go back and see what you looked at.
However, a flaw in a modern web security feature called “HTTP Strict Transport Security” (HSTS) allows websites to plant “super cookies” that can be used to track web users’ browsing habits even when private browsing is enabled.
Here’s how it works.
Security researcher Sam Greenhalgh writes that HSTS “allows a website to indicate that it should aways be accessed using a secure connection that encrypts your communication with the site.” This “flag” is then saved by your web browser, ensuring that any future visits to the website are secure. But this can also be abused, using this feature to store a unique number that can be used to track your web browser.
And because HSTS carries over into private browsing, it means the “super cookie” can be used to track you whether you’re attempting to cover your steps or not.
Greenhalgh says that Apple’s Safari web browser is especially vulnerable to the exploit. While clearing cookies on Mozilla’s Firefox, Google Chrome or Opera also erases HSTS flags, deleting the super cookies, there’s no way to do so on Safari on iOS devices.
This means that if you’ve had super cookies placed on your iPad or iPhone, there’s effectively no way to get rid of them short of reformatting the entire machine."

Hi all,
I tried this with IOS 7.1.2 Safari on an iPad retina and the super cookie did not persist after web data and history was deleted.
I also tried this with IOS 8.1.2 Safari on an iPhone 6, and the super cookie persisted even after deleting web history and website data.
Evidently it was ok on 7.1.2 and broken on 8.1.2.

Might be a discount voucher near-term, to match up with past programs. That would positively scream "epic win" in addition to being a really nice gesture by Apple. But this is an educated guess.
We still have to find out how 10.4 and 10.5 holdouts from late '06-mid '09 (and y'all know who y'all are, ladies and gents) are going to get Lion based on the only system requirement of a 64-bit CPU. I suspect a Mac Box Set refresh would be in order for this task.
Also: how would one reinstall Lion "clean" if, say, the hard disk flips out or one just doesn't want excess baggage gumming up his machine? Recovery partitions assume the worst won't happen.
Unfortunately, this also leaves the earlier '06 Macs on life support and effectively kills off all prior Macs with PowerPC chips, so to anybody with a Core Duo or G-series chip, Apple wants you upgrading hardware--NOW!

I see. Apple's documentation on what is included in the iCloud backup doesn't explicitly say that it contains voicemails, but that doesn't mean it does not. You would just have to try restoring the backup to find out.
To restore to your iCoud backup you have to start by erasing the phone. Go to Settings>General>Reset and tap Erase All Content and Settings. Then go through the setup screens on the phone and when given the option, choose Restore from iCloud backup. You will then sign into your iCloud account, accept the terms and conditions, then choose the backup you wish to restore from. To see an older backup, you may need to tap "Show older backups" (see image below). Be sure your phone is connected to wifi and your charger as this may take some time to finish.
If this does not recover your voicemails, you can check to see if you have an older iTunes backup that may contain them. Available backups are shown in iTunes Preferences>Devices on the Backups list.
If all else fails, you could try contacting your carrier. Voicemail is a carrier feature and they may have an archive you could access.

I was having the same problem. I followed the directions from the link you listed, but the library file in the Previous folder was dated the same as the date of my upgrade. There are no other files in that folder. I tried anyway but it did not work. Any suggestions short of individually adding them?

I've got exactly the same on a laptop: Desktop is absolutely
fine.
As in your case the software works 100%, but you simply can't
create a new page (across all sites). Crazy - no error message, no
nothing.
I did make the fatal error of installing a demo version of
the software before buying the real software, so I did have to go
through 6 pages of A4 instructions to try to get the read software
to install... perhaps this is a vestige of that???

You can use the D2KWUTIL.pll library to read/write to the registry. You have to install the forms examples to get the library.
The library d2kwut32.dll must also be installed at the clients.

Copy everything from your old comptuer, or your backup copy of your old computer, to your new one.
If for some reason you have failed to maintain a backup, not good, and you do not have access to your old computer, then you can redownload some itunes purchases in some countries:

If you want to transfer your iTunes Media (i.e. Music, Movies, Podcasts, Apps, etc.) you can just replace the contents of your old Mac's iTunes media folder (User-->Music-->iTunes) with your new Mac's iTunes media folder using an external hard disk, dropbox, etc.

When Time Machine backs up a portable Mac, some of the free space will be used to make local snapshots, which are backup copies of recently deleted files. The space occupied by local snapshots is reported as available by the Finder, and should be considered as such. In the Storage display of System Information, local snapshots are shown as Backups. The snapshots are automatically deleted when they expire or when free space falls below a certain level. You ordinarily don't need to, and should not, delete local snapshots yourself, nor should you disable them or Time Machine.
