Can't get old music on new iphone for 40 days??

I got a new iphone today after having an ipod for a while. ive gotten alot of music so i went to the music app to download it (on the new iphone) it all shows up and has the little cloud download icon so i download it and it instantly pops up with this; "This device is already associated with an apple id. You can download past purchases on this device with just one Apple id every 90 dyas. this device can be used with another apple id in 42 days." Any ways to fix this or get my music back? I recently traded phones with a good friend so this probably has something to do with it.

Did you not log out of the friend's Apple ID? Did you restore the phone and activate it with your Apple ID? You can restore the device as new, then restore it from a backup of your iPod if you want, or just sync your own content to it and it should work.

  • Can i get old itunes on new iphone if they have different apple ids?

i have had itunes on the computer that is connected to 2 different ipods for several years.  i recently got a new iphone 4s and cannot figure out how to get the itunes library from my computer onto the new phone.  is that possible to do if they have 2 different apple ids?

Yes but if you bought the music on both different id's then they are tied to those id's only.

  • HT1386 I have a brand new Iphone 5, I use Itunes 10.7 I can not get any music on my Iphone,

    I have a new Iphone 5
Add a new music cd to the library and then sync music
    Also tried manual
TRied on several computers for some hours and evenings
Can not get any music on my Iphone at all
Sometimes I get informed that after copy some are not copied as they have the wrong formet
Also tried with a new CD
No fault during sync, but no music

    Good.
    Three things come to mind:
    1.  I think you're implying when you travel away from your home to a more populated area, the cellular coverage improves and your iPhone works well.  Is that right?
    2.  Do you have a case or some other obstruction over or near your iPhone's antenna?  Have you tried moving or removing any possible obstructions near the antenna?
    3.  AT&T has a (free) app in the App Store called "Mark the Spot".  You can use this app to report voice and/or data issues to AT&T, as well as keep up on progress they may be making in improving coverage in your area.  Your trouble reports are geotagged (if you wish).

  • Will apple store transfer my music to new iphone for me

will  the apple store transfer my music to new iphone for me?

    Do this:
Create a separate user account for you. Launch iTunes, then Store>Authorize this Computer. Then:
By design, the iphone will sync itunes content with one computer at a time. Any attempt to sync such content with a second computer will result in ALL itunes content being first erased from your phone & then replaced with the content from the second computer. This is a design feature and cannot be overridden. Because you are using a new computer, your phone will see this computer as a "new" computer. The itunes content sync is one way: computer to phone. If you have photos that were synced to your phone or music ripped on your own that were not backed up, you will first have to extract them from your phone using third party software, before you do anything else, as Apple makes no provision to do so:
    http://www.wideanglesoftware.com/touchcopy/index.php
Once you've done that, do the following in the order specified:
    1. Disable auto sync when an iPod/iPhone is connected under Preferences>Devices in itunes(under the edit menu if using Windows).
    2. Make sure you have one contact & one event in the supported applications(Outlook, Windows Address Book) on your computer. These entries can be fake, doesn't matter, the important point is that these programs not be empty.
    3. Connect your phone, iTunes running, do not sync at this point.
    4. Store>Authorize this computer.
    5. File>Transfer Purchases(To make sure all purchased content on your phone will be in your itunes library).
    6. Right click in the device pane & select reset warnings.
    7. Right click again and select backup.
    8. Right click again & select restore from backup, select the backup you just made. When prompted to create another backup, decline.
    9. This MUST be followed by a sync to restore your itunes content, which you select from the various tabs, You'll get a popup regarding your contacts & calendars asking to merge or replace, select merge.
You should be good to go.

If you purchased all of the songs through itunes store, please follow these steps:
    1. Open up Itunes and Click on Itunes Store
    2. Once you're in the Itunes Store look to right side of the screen and you should see the word "purchased". Click purchased and you'll be sent to a purchase screen.
    3. Click on "All Songs" and then it will show all the songs you've downloaded. From there you just hit the button that looks like a cloud with an arrow on it, and it will download all the songs all over again.
If you didn't purchase them through Itunes, then you'll have to download software that will strip the songs from your iPod onto your computer. And here is a guide about how to transfer iPod music to iTunes. Hope it helps.

  • PC died.  How do I get purchased music to new Iphone?

As stated, my PC died and I can't get purchased music to my new iphone 4s.  I downloaded itunes to my new PC and set up imatch, so I can access everything via wifi, but I want to actually get the music onto the phone.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

    True.
You need to put the music on the new computer.
Did you fail to maintain a backup of your computer?

Thank you for your reply. I'm still not understanding why I can't get my contacts from my old 3G go to my new 4 without losing the 4.  The link you offered gave me this:

I guess I have to start all over again to get my iphone 4 up and just enter my contacts one by one.    Just don't understand why this is all so complicated for us layman.  I've read through many many threads to this same issue and I have found I'm not the only one.

  • How can I get my music onto my iphone 4S

I hae just purchased an iphone 4s and can't seem to transfer my music from my computer to it.  Never had this problem with my old iphone 2.  Most of my music is CDs which I have transferred to itunes on my home computer (an imac, still running leopard)   when I open the music folder on the iphone 4s it just says I have no content and have to purchase music from itunes.  There is no ipod folder on the new iphone 4S like on my iphone.   I really want to get my music as I have some great stuff and don't want to purchase it all again from itunes.

The iPod app is now called "music".
Is Apple ID set up on your phone and is your Mac still authorized in the Store menu in iTunes?
Can you select the music in the music pane in iTunes, or is it grayed out?
    Any restrictions set in Settings/General/Restrictions?

  • How can I get the music on my iphone onto my laptop?

So, a while back, my father and I switched laptops. Since we did this, I have HIS itunes account on my laptop. He told me to uninstall itunes and reinstall it and then log into a new account that I've made. I did so, several times. Every time I open Itunes after reinstalling it, it still loads his music onto it, even after logging into my new account. The thing is, I have an Iphone that has the music that I want on my laptop,  on it. What I have been TRYING to do, is sync the music on the phone, onto Itunes. For some reason, I can't seem to do this. Every time I try to do this it tells me that if I do I'll lose everything on the phone and it will upload the music on the computer onto the phone. I've been trying for SEVERAL months and I just want to get my music onto my new ANDROID phone. This is why I have switched to an adroid, from an iphone.

  • How can I get my music off my iPhone and into the iTunes library?

My computer broke down a long time ago and I lost all my music, the only place I have any of it now is on my iPhone. None of my songs were purchases. I haven't updated my phone since I got it a year ago, I deleted and backed up everything on my phone except for my music because I can find no way how, and I still don't have enough space to update. Some of the songs I have on there, I can't get back if I delete now, not anywhere. Why is there not a simple, built in way to back up music??? This has been driving me insane forever, I really just want to get my music back into iTunes again, or get it onto the computer I'm currently using, somewhere, anywhere, at this point. Is there any way to do this without downloading some program that you have to pay for to get to work?

  • Can't get photos to my new iPhone

Hi, I already have an iTouch which iTunes is synced to, but when I try to sync my iPhone it downloads the music but not the photos. I unchecked sync automatically and tried to download the photos from them photos tab, but it starts to say SYNC and then says unable to sync as file is missing!!! Help, i am 65 years old, reasonably computer literate, but at a loss to get iTunes to recognise my iPhone (keeps calling it an iTouch) although the data is correct. Just want to get the photos onto my phone please. Many thanks

When you connect your iPhone click on the photos tab which is on the summary screen in iTunes. In there you need to check the albums which you want to sync to your iPhone. Once you have done that click apply and they should copy to your phone.
