Can't get passed connect to itunes?

i bought my iphone4 from a friend and it had the connect to itunes. so i connect it and itunes didnt recgonized my phone so i put it in recovery mode and plugged it back in. ok so i restored my phone and it updated my phone then on the computer it said sorry it couldnt activate at the time so i unplugged it and it said select language (selected english) went to select country (selected united states) then went to connect to itunes. i see the time, battery thing on the top and it says serching even with my sim card in. can somebody help me out PLEASE

Well then, I suggest you find a competent repair shop. It's no longer an iPhone. iPhones are not user servicable. Apple does not sell iPhone parts at all. Apple won't touch that phone any more.
If I had to guess, I'd say the original problem was caused by the fact that it was physically broken.

  • Can't get passed "Connect to iTunes" Screen after removing phone from bag of rice.

My phone recently had water damage, so I put it in rice for 2 days and then plugged it in. It showed the black screen with the apple symbol and then shut down and did this about 12 times. I put it back in the rice, and after taking it out after a few hours, it boot up normally to my "unlock" screen but then went to a screen saying to hook it up to iTunes. I then restored the phone to where it said it was complete but then it asked me to restore it again. I did that, and now it says it is unable to restore because of error. What should I do?

Ohh and it's only about a month old and it's a iPhone 4.

  • Installed 5 on can't get past connect to iTunes screen

I downloaded update to itunes, then plugged in phone to sync.  i get to the screen that says "connect to itunes" and the little wheels go around but then stop after a while - can't get further than that screen.

  • Won't display main menu, even after holding on/off and home buttons simultaneously. Can't get beyond "connect to iTunes " which I can't do anyway.

After several days of inactivity iPad won't display main screen. When I first turned in on, it asked for a four digit passcode. I never had a four digit passcode. After entering "incorrect" passcode, it told me I could try again in 60 minutes. That was day one. Since then, it displays "connect to iTunes" which I can't do. I've tried holding on/off and homebuttons simultaneously. "connect to iTunes" keeps coming up. I'm stuck on that commmand.

‘iPad is disabled’ fix without resetting using iTunes
Today I met my match with an iPad that had a passcode entered too many times, resulting in it displaying the message ‘iPad is disabled – Connect to iTunes’. This was a student iPad and since they use Notability for most of their work there was a chance that her files were not all backed up to the cloud. I really wanted to just re-activate the iPad instead of totally resetting it back to our default image.
I reached out to my PLN on Twitter and had some help from a few people through retweets and a couple of clarification tweets. I love that so many are willing to help out so quickly. Through this I also learned that I look like Lt. Riker from Star Trek (thanks @FillineMachine).
Through some trial and error (and a little sheer luck), I was able to reactivate the iPad without loosing any data. Note, this will only work on the computer it last synced with. Here’s how:
    1. Configurator is useless in reactivating a locked iPad. You will only be able to completely reformat the iPad using Configurator. If that’s ok with you, go for it – otherwise don’t waste your time trying to figure it out.
    2. Open iTunes with the iPad disconnected.
    3. Connect the iPad to the computer and wait for it to show up in the devices section in iTunes.
    4. Click on the iPad name when it appears and you will be given the option to restore a backup or setup as a new iPad (since it is locked).
    5. Click ‘Setup as new iPad’ and then click restore.
    6. The iPad will start backing up before it does the full restore and sync. CANCEL THE BACKUP IMMEDIATELY. You do this by clicking the small x in the status window in iTunes.
    7. When the backup cancels, it immediately starts syncing – cancel this as well using the same small x in the iTunes status window.
    8. The first stage in the restore process unlocks the iPad, you are basically just cancelling out the restore process as soon as it reactivates the iPad.
If done correctly, you will experience no data loss and the result will be a reactivated iPad. I have now tried this with about 5 iPads that were locked identically by students and each time it worked like a charm.

Try it and good luck. You have nothing more to lose if it doesn't work for you.
     Cheers, Tom

  • Can't get "secure connection" to iTunes...

iTunes is up to date. PC is up to date. I am logged in to iTunes. I can look through iTunes all I want. But when I want to download an item, it says that iTunes was not able to establish a secure connection, and to check my computer's date and time. Date and time are correct. Any ideas?

I am having this problem also. Got a work around until iTunes store fixes the problem. Go into your internet explorer options, advanced tab and select "restore advance settings". After doing this close all instances of IE you have open and iTunes. Then reopen IE and iTunes. If you try to download from the iTunes store you'll get the 9808 error. Go back into IE Options, advanced tab and under Security unclick "check for server certificat revocation". Then hit OK and close IE and iTunes. Then reopen iTunes and you can now download. However, a short time later when you try to connect you'll get the "unable to setup a secure connection" error and have to repeat this fix again.
Hopefully they'll get this fixed soon. Must be their security certificates causing the problem.

  • Can no longer download apps, constantly get "cannot connect to iTunes Store"

Can no longer download apps, constantly get "cannot connect to iTunes Store"
Can connect to iTunes, Safari, Google et etc. No issue with our wifi/network, we also have another iPad which fas no problem downloading apps.

Try syncing your iPad with your computer, that way it can update its version of iTunes.

Mostly because you are not using any capital letters or paragraph returns and your post is difficult to read.

Can't get iphone to recognize itunes on my computer. do i have to use the original cord to connect? i can't find the cord. please advise.

Do you mean that iTunes doesn't recognize your phone when you plug it into your computer using the usb to dock cable?  If so, see http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1538.  (And yes, you need to use the usb to dock cable that came with your phone.  If you dont' have it you'll have to buy another one.)

  • I keep getting the "connect to itunes" screen and have to restore my ipad.  it will also drop the wifi connection every few mintues.  what can be causing this?

I keep getting the "connect to itunes" screen and have to connect to itunes and do a restore on it.  It will not pick up my ipad so I either have to do a restore or restore to new and it will work fine for a day or so except for dropping the wifi connection.  What can be causing this?  I have had this pad since January of this year and have not had any problems until recently.

If you have to keep restoring your iPad with iTunes repeatedly and there is no change after restoring as a new iPad or not from the iPad's backup, your iPad has a major problem - likely a hardware problem. The iPad includes a one year warranty. You can call AppleCare or make an appointment at an Apple store if there is one nearby.

  • Can't get pass "Internet connection" on Setup wizard for new Linksys WRT54g router

    Hello everyone.
Well, I just bought (today) a Linksys WRT54G wirelss router and wile going through the Setup portion of the wizard (part of the installation of the EasyLink Advisor application), after I connect all the cables (in proper order) it tries to establish an Internet connection but comes back saying that no Internet connection is present. I tried powering off and umplugging the Verizon Westell modem I have but it still says the same thing.  I even tried to get the set up completed with two other verizon modems I have but just can't get pass checking for Internet connection.
My ISP is Verizon and I use just a regular DSL connection using a Westell VersaLink model 327W.
Is there anything I need to do to get this going?  I mean, the set up CD shows how to hook up the cables and everything so it really is not that hard but right after the "hook up the cable" portion it check for an Internet connection and that's were I get stuck.
    Any help will be appreciated.

Your problem is that the Westel "modem" is actually a "modem-router", and it uses the same 192.168.1.x  address space as the WRT54G.
The ideal solution is to place the Westell into "bridge" mode.  This will convert it to a true modem (all router features are turned off).   I assume you are using PPPoE  (if this is not correct, please let me know).   If so, then you will need to setup the WRT54G to do your PPPoE login, when the Westell is set to bridge mode.  Also note that you must first disconnect the Westell from the WRT54G and from the Internet, before you attempt to place the Westell into bridge mode.
An alternate solution is to leave the Westell as is, disconnect it from the WRT54G, then login to the WRT54G and change the "Local IP address" to 192.168.2.1 , then reconnect your system.  In this case, the Westell will do your PPPoE login, and the WRT54G will be set to "Internet connection type" of "DHCP - automatic".  If all you do is browse the web, do some emails, and basic stuff, this setup will probably work OK.  If you are planning more complicated stuff (Internet gaming with port forwarding, video conferencing, etc.)  then be sure to use the "bridge" mode described above.

  • HT4053 cant get iphone passbook to work get cant connect to itunes message

passbook does not work just get cant connect to itunes message

I found a fix to this somewhere else. I don't know why it works, but it does. If you go to your date/time settings, change it from automatic to manual, then change the year to 2013, when you open the passbook app it will work. After you've opened it successfully, you can go back and change your date back to automatic and the app will work correctly from then on.

  • Issues installing BO XI R 3.0 - Can't get passed CMS Database Information

I can't get passed the CMS Database Information window from the install:
I'm choosing an existing CMS database via Oracle.  This CMS is also being used on a different server, is this an issue?  I'm trying to do a side-by-side installation of which I chose a different directory.  For the CMS port I chose 6500, since my other install of BO XI Release 2.0 CMS is using 6400.
