Can't get past internet set up page.

I have just reinstalled OSX on my 20" White iMac 4 intel as I'm planning to sell it. Once the reinstallation process was complete,
I selected United Kingdom for the region I am in on the welcome page.
I then selected 'Do not transfer my information' on the 'Do You Already Own A Mac' page.
I then chose 'British' on the 'Select Your Keyboard' page.
I then selected 'Airport wireless' on the 'How Do You Connect' page.
I then select my listed wireless network on the 'Select A Wireless Service' page, put in my password and clicked continue.
I then get an Airport error box pop up that says there was an error joining the selected network, I click ok but am stuck on this page,
All I can do is click back to the previous pages.
Please help!

To change the iCloud ID you have to go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, provide the password for the old ID when prompted to turn off Find My iPhone (if you're using iOS 7), then sign back in with the ID you wish to use. If you don't know the password for your old ID, or if it isn't accepted, go to https//appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID. Tap edit next to the primary email account, tap Edit, change it back to your old email address and save the change. Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address. You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iPhone on your device, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud). Next, go back to https//appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was. Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.

What setup screen? I have restored from a backup several times and the iPad always syncs when the process is complete. What are you seeing on the setup screen?

I can't get past the search engine page on my browser

I'm having some slight problems with my iPad.
its wi-fi only iPad 2.ios 8.0.2
Its connected to the W-Fi but i cant use my brower. i can type in www.google.co.uk and google comes up.
Then i go to type into the search box press enter the results come up but when i click on the results nothing happens and hoes to a blank page saying 'Safari could not open the page because the server stopped responding'
I can get onto my emails and onto facebook too. But my apps cant update either
My iphone works fine as well as every one elses devices.
I'e tried hard reset, i've updated the ios, and i've rest network setting... and it still does the same thing!

Clear Safari and the reset the iPad again. Settings>Safari>Clear history and website data. Now reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time until the Apple logo appears on the screen.
I would also reset the router by unplugging it for 30 seconds and then plug it in again.

How can I get passed the set up page?

I used Time machine from my old computer and used the external hard drive to plug in my new pro. I'm not sure if I just had a lot to put on the pro that it is taking so long, but it's been sitting on the "Thank You. Your Mac is set up and ready to use." page all night with the rainbow ball of death to accompany. Is there anything I need to do or just wait it out?

Hold the Power button until your MacBook Pro turns off, and turn it on. It should start up on Desktop, because the setup was finished correctly.
Setup Assistant got stuck at the moment of getting into Desktop. There's nothing to worry about, if you can use Mac OS X correctly

G3 clamshell iBook...can't get past my log in page

I believe my clamshell is a G3. I have had it for years but recently had some issues with the power cord so by the time I bought another power supply, I can't remember my password I used. I have tried virtually every single password I have ever used in my life with no success. It used to do the thing where it gave you three chances before giving you a hint to what your password was but for some reason I think it got turned off because now you can enter a password in as many times as you like and it will just shake the box back and forth to indicate its not the right password. I am at my wits end. I really need to gain access again because it does contain some important documents to me not to mention I was looking forward to being able to use my laptop again after not being able to for so long. I have all the software discs but I don't know if I am supposed to be holding or pressing any of the keys while it loads. Can someone please help me figure out a way to break past my log in screen so that I can change my password to something I remember???? Thanks in advance. Any advice is appreciated.

The only way you can reset your password is using the disk that was supplied with your iBook.
This will depend also on what version of Mac OS your iBook is running. These iBook would have been installed with Mac OS X 9.0 or 9.1 or 9.2. If it has not bene upgraded to Mac OS X, then you can do the following:
Boot from the System Disc by holding down X when you start the system up.
2. If you've got multiple users set up then navigate to Macintosh HD:System Folder:Extensions:Multi-User (The multiple users folder.) and move the files in there to your desktop.
3. Head to the Macintosh HD:System Folder:Preferences and move the multi-user preference files and once you reboot the system after that, you will be able to create a new account.
4. Reboot.
5. After the reboot, you should move everything back into place except for the preference files.
As you can see resetting your Mac OS 9 password is a fairly easy process. As I mentioned above in a lot of cases users will not get locked out of their Mac using Mac OS 9
If you have Mac OS X installed and have the Mac OS X install disk:
Insert the disk into the drive and restart the computer.
As soon as you hear the chime when your computer is booting up, hold down the "C" key. If the "C" key does not boot from the disk, than try holding down the "option" key instead.
Once you have booted from disk, the OS X installer window should be on screen.
Go ahead and click continue in the first box that pops up. Next, look at the toolbar located at the very top of the screen. You will see numerous options. Choose either installer menu, or the apple menu (depending on which OS disk version you are using). Under one of the top menus, you should find an option to reset your password. After you have selected reset password, it will ask you to select your hard drive. Select the hard drive and select your administer account name from the dropdown menu.
Enter your new password, verify and click reset.

Can't get past the Skype home page

I am so frustrated with this.
I sign in and someone even tried to message me and I was allowed to accept or decline.
But, I cannot get to the page to add contacts. There is nothing on the left side of the page after I sign in.
I use this to make calls to 3 other employees who do the same job. We tried contact Friday (when I received a request from the states) but they cannot contact me

I used to be able to get to icloud on my iPad, but now it asks me if I want to set up icloud on this device. I followed the FAQ, and upgraded the OS, and all of the other suggestions, but to no avail. Help...

As fars as I know, amnd I am quite sure of this, that has never been possible using Safari. Users on the forum have moaned about about it since the inception of iCloud. You can do it in Safari desktop on a computer, but you could never do it in mobile Safari. It is possible using other browsers that can identify as desktop browsers, but results are somewhat unreliable in using those browsers.
The point is that everything that you need to access in iCloud.com is already on your iPad, including the Find My iPad app. Your contacts, calendar, email, notes, photo stream, documents .... Everything that you can access in iCloud.com is already on the iPad.

Can't get past the iTunes install page to redeem a digital copy of a movie.

Trying to download digital copy of The Hunger Games. I click the iTunes button for the download. It doesn't ask for my redeem code, but tells me I must install iTunes. iTunes is already installed on this laptop. I tried reinstalling, but still end up on the iTunes installer page. How do I move past this page?

Can't get rid of "set home page" in center of monitor that appeared during setup.

I had to re-download Firefox and then I set my homepage to something other than Firefox.

Handle = Screen Name.
Name = Your Details as per your My Card (Head and Shoulders iCon) in the Address Book - Or the User that is Logged in to the Mac.
Each Buddy List will show the same Name but a different Handle based on the Screen Name for that Buddy List.
If you only have one Buddy List (other than the Bonjour One) and you Delete it then the Buddy List Disappears - Problem Solved. (Presumably you are re-adding a New Screen Name ?)

I am a little confused where you were when you did this:-
I tried clicking on the minus sign in the list of users to delete the account and tried signing up for a new iChat account using my AIM screen name/password;
"List of Users" sounds like you were in System Preferences > Accounts.
You can "Delete" an Account here. It is not actually removed from the Users Folder (Hard Drive/Users) but is locked in a way that no-one has access and they are Removed from the Login Screen when the Mac Starts Up.
DO NOT DELETE ANY CLOSED ACCOUNT FOLDER In the Users Folder.
But if you use the same Screen Name in another Mac User Account the same Handle will appear.
You will see my GoogleTalk Account is headed "GoogleTalk" and my AIM Account as "Main AIM Account" These are set in the Description field in the iChat > Preferences > Accounts.
The Default if you have one account that logs into AIM is for it to read "AIM Buddy List"
Similar for one Jabber Account.
With more accounts of any one type they take on the info in the Description Field - which itself by default is the Screen Name.
Are you trying to create a New Mac User Account and use the same AIM Screen Name there ?
Are you trying to just change AIM Screen Names ?

Can not get past language setting

I have reset, updated.....you name it......everything that the web site suggest doing and some of the suggestions in these discussions. I can get the apple when holding down the menu and select buttons and then it goes back to showing language. Can anybody tell me how the heck to get this thing working?

ok, that seems to make more sense anyways. that sounds like an unfixable problem
you might want to try this:
resest (MENU+SELECT)
while you see the Apple, hold in MENU+REWIND
this will bring you to the built-in diagnostic program
try some stuff in here: maybe you can at least figure out what the problem is...

Trying to set up a joomla test website - can't get beyond database set up.

Hi. I am new to Mac OSX server, and I purchased a mini with 10.6.3 server so that I could build and test some websites locally.
I am trying to install Joomla, and i can not get past the database configuration page.
I am new to Apache / MySQL / PHP / Unix etc... I used Navicat to "create" (I am also new to navicat) a database named Joomla. I also created a user in Navicat called testuser, and gave the user a password. I also THINK I gave that user all privledges. But when I select Next, the page does not give any warnings, it doesn't even seem to refresh, but I can't get anywhere beyond this. I am not even sure what logs to check for errors, or how to get beyond this point. Any advice? Did I not set something up that needs to be set up?

Joomla is easy to set up (install) once Mysql and PHP is properly set up. CMS (Content Management
System) websites are the way to go. I am migrating all my sites to CMS, either full CMS or Partial
CMS. The Server Guys (and Girls) can help you get it set up properly. If you don't want the hassle
of configuring MySql and PHP on your Mac, use the preconfigured MAMP setup:

Can't get past "Setup Profile" for registration

I'm trying to register for My Verizon, but I can't get past the "Setup Profile" page in order to register. The "Continue" button on the bottom right will not allow me to click it. What's up?

Have you tried refreshing the page? Using a different browser? Clearing cache and cookies on your browser?
Is you browser up-to-date? Running any add-ons like an ad blocker that might accidentally interfere? Try it with a stock, updated version of Firefox or IE. If that doesn't work, you might need to wait a few days, and if that doesn't help, call in and ask for some troubleshooting.
