Can't get PC to be able to print through Rendezvous

I have an Airport Extreme connected by high speed cable. I have a PowerBook and an iMac. I have an HP PSC 2335 printer connected to the Airport Extreme and both my apple computers can access it through Rendezvous. However, my daughter has a Dell laptop and uses Windows XP Home. She also has a Wi-Fi card installed and has no problem accessing the Internet from the Airport. But she can't print, and I haven't been able to figure out how to solve that issue. When I try to add a printer on her computer, it cannot find the Rendezvous printer. Can anyone kindly help? Thanks! -- Katie

If the iPhone has Find My iPhone activation lock enabled then you will not be able to activate the iPhone without entering the correct Apple ID and password it is locked to. Sorry but there is no way to bypass this.

In the printer driver (accessed through the Page Setup button) set the Advanced tab to borderless. Then in the right hand panel under Layout set all the margins to zero.

When printing two-sided from my Mac on landscape A4 with 2 columns, how can I get my HP Photosmart 6520 to print the same way up?

Or, it is set the other way around (which makes more sense). Even though you are in Landscape mode, it is binding on the Long Side of the paper. Since you are in Landscape, you would want it to bind on the short side.
Think of the Binding like a Book. How would you flip the finished pages to read the “book.” Where it would be bound in the imaginary book is how you want it to print.

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

When I try to print a photo downloaded from Facebook in iPhoto, I can't get the size I specify to print correctly. Example: 5x7 prints smaller than 5x7. What do I do to solve this problem?

Those pixel dimemsions have aspect ratios that are not the same as a 5 x7 print:
    1360 x 1360 = 1.0
    790 x 640 = 1.23
    2048 x 1366 = 1.5
    An 7 x 5 image = 1.4.
So you'll need to crop the images to 5 x 7 before printing.  The first two images are a little light in the pixels to produce a high resolution 5 x 7 print.

  • Finally able to print through Wireless Router!! (USR MaxG)

So, after a full week of trying to get my printer to print wirelessly, I finally got it to work... but only after I had begun to write this post on the Apple Forums. So, since I felt like this post was extremely clear in the process, I'm posting it, in case anyone else has the same problem. I hope this helps someone, since it was impossible for me to find a post that really offered a clear explanation for how to print wirelessly...
    Here's my post:
No matter what I do, I can't seem to print to my wireless router! Unless, that is, when I use my girlfriend's Windows computer. I'm able to print through the router to my printer via WinXP, but not OS X 1.4. Whenever I try to print in OS X, I get the error messages "Unable to find host..." or "Jobs Stopped."
    Here's my hardware:
    Router:
U.S. Robotics Wireless MAXg Router (USR5461)
    Firmware: 3.93.35.0.6 (Jan 5 2006)
    Printer status: Ready
    Printer location: http://192.168.2.1:1631/printers/My_Printer
    Printer:
    Samsung ML-2510
    Computer:
    MacBook Pro
    OS X 10.4
Here's what I've tried to do most recently:
    1) Applications> Utilities> Print Set Up Utility.
    2) Click "Add Printer" in Printer List
    3) Click "More Printers..." in print browser while holding down alt/option key
    4) Select "Advanced in Pull down menu
    5) Under Device, select Internet Printing Protocol using HTTP
    6) Under Device Name, insert "My_Printer" (listed above)
    7) Under Device URI, insert "http://192.168.2.1:1631/printers/My_Printer" (above)
    8) Under Printer Model, select "Samsung ML-2510 series"
    9) Click OK; make My_Printer default; and test print
    Results:
(Printer actually prints) AMAZING!! I finally was able to get it to print. Apple forums is magical
    Hopes this helps.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!! I spent the past 3 hours trying to figure out why I couldn't get my mac to print on the wireless router. I found your posting about 2 hours into my quest, and it took me another hour to finally realize I needed to update the firmware on the router. I was using something from 2005, so when I installed the update, your directions worked! I never felt so happy to hear the printer! :-D
If you hadn't posted this, I would have never figured it out...thanks again!

  • On my iPad and iPhone I am getting errors that it can't get the Yahoo! mail to go through, it won't verify the data.

I can't get mai on the iPad or iphone (and maybe the macbook pro) from Yahoo!. It won't verify the info and has me to authenticate using safari. I hav a PLUS account, have deleted and restarted a new account, but no verif. It used to work, but has quit. Especially worse since running iOS 5. Apple is scheduled for expresslane for 4 - 5 days out. I don't have a current phone number for Yahoo! or I'd be bugging them. It just won't verify even after changing passwords. GMail and iCloud work fin. Any ideas ?

    Bwilbraham-
Is your iPad able to access the internet using Safari?  If not, I suggest you unplug your WiFi router for a few seconds.  Then reset the iPad's network at Settings-General-Reset-Reset Network Settings.  You will need to reconnect the iPad to WiFi.
If you are able to access the internet, then there may be a glitch in your iPad Mail setup you are overlooking.  It could be something like the letter O where a zero should be, a space where none is allowed or a backward slash (\) where a forward slash (/) is required.
One other thing you can try, is to reset (reboot) your iPad.  Hold both the Home and Sleep buttons for several seconds until the Apple logo appears.  Ignore the "Slide to power off" arrow.  The iPad will restart after a couple of minutes.  Resetting this way will not hurt anything, and sometimes clears up mysterious problems.

  • Can't get 4k support with Seiki 39" TV through HDMI

I purchased a Seiki 39" SE39UY04 from Amazon, and I have a Macbook pro retina with the Intel Iris chipset.
When I plug the TV into the HDMI port, the "Best Available" is only 1080p (1920x1080). I can't get anything higher.
I am running 10.9.4, and looks like I should be able to get at 24fps the full 4K resolution.
Is there a way to force it? I could get an active thunderbolt adapter, but it looks like this should work.
    Any ideas? Thanks

    Thanks for the reply.
However I believe the screenshot you showed is actually showing what the display is currently running at, as opposed to all the of resolutions it supports.
Also, for this particular monitor you can find people on youtube who run it fine without multi-stream on macbook pros.
I used switchresx to get the EDID info that the monitor is reporting.
Sadly I'm not fluent in the format, however to my untrained eye it does seem to list  Mode = 3840 x 2160 @ 30.000Hz
Here's the whole thing for anyone interested.

  • How can I get my Post Script files to print from a designated side?

We're printing Cards through a PS combatible printer.
The Vertical Cards are flat fed through the printer and the image is printing.
However, I cannot consistently get the image to print out from the same side.
Using Illustrator CS2, CS3 and CS4, we were able to get good results only using CS3.
Since most of us are using CS4, we'll need to make this work, rather than toggling
    between versions.
There must be some parameters that we are missing.
    Suggestions?
How can we get the images to print consistently from the same side?

Sounds more like an issue with the various combinations of AI and the PostScript printer drivers producing different PS being sent to the printer and naturally the printer producing a result based on the interpretation, which is perfectly correct. Short of printing it as bitmap data I don't see an easy way to fix this. this clearly requires som computer person to check it hands on and install the correct drivers and define the correct default settings...
