Can't get Photoshop Elements 11 to install. Adobe Installer message: Installer failed to initialize.

Can't get Photoshop Elements 11 to install.
... Adobe Installer message: Installer failed to initialize. This could be due to a missing file. Please download Adobe Support Advisor to detect the problem.
... Adobe Support Advisor message "Inspection could not identify any issues. Please contact Adobe Support for further assistance. http://www.adobe.com/support."
... .... So far I have downloaded twice, to two different folders (Desktop and my default download folder). Neither option has worked.  Please help!  I'd like to download Premiere Elements 11, but with this kind of installation problem on PSE11, it seems a second program may be as much of a problem to try to install.

As Mylenium has stated all we have is a very general error message at this point so it is impossible to advise you until we have additional details.  Please review your installation logs by following the steps listed in Troubleshoot install using logs | Elements - http://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop-elements/kb/troubleshoot-install-using-logs-elements.html.

How can I get photoshop elements to open my nef images?

The D3200 requires at least ACR 7.1, which isn't compatible with any version of PSE prior to PSE 11, so no, you can't do this directly in PSE 9.
You could upgrade PSE, use the Nikon software to convert the files and then open the resulting images into PSE for further editing, or download the free Adobe DNG converter to convert your NEFs to DNG files that your version of PSE can understand.

  • Can't get Photoshop Elements 12 to begin installing on my Windows 7 laptop - got software through Wacom?

Hey guys, bear with me here because I am the opposite of tech-savvy and I'm getting really frustrated. I can't find answers anywhere and nobody in my family has been able to help.
I recently bought an IntuosPro drawing tablet from Wacom - it came with the option to download a few different programs, including Photoshop Elements 12. I downloaded it through Chrome onto my (brand new) laptop, which has Windows 7 as the operating system. When it was done downloading, I got a zip file. (I'm literally going to list just about everything in the stupid thing) I opened it, and there were two files inside - "PhotoshopElements_12_All.7z" and "PhotoshopElements_12_All.exe". Double-clicking the second one gives me a pop-up saying "The file archive part of Adobe Photoshop Elements 12 is missing. You need all parts in the same folder in order to extract Adobe Photoshop Elements 12. Please download all parts." (Which made me download the whole thing again, only to get the same response and waste my second download - you can only download it twice off of Wacom.)
Opening the other file gives me two more folders - "PSE 12" and "ReadMe". Nothing in the ReadMe folder works. In the other folder there are 3 folders at the top ("ElementsOrganizer" "ElementsSTIInstaller" and "SupportFiles") then Data.cab files numbered 1-19, "Adobe Photoshop Elements 12.msi" (which takes me to the installation wizard thing but tells me there's an error "Please install/uninstall the product using Setup.exe in the root folder" (I don't know which one is the root folder but none of the .exe's I've found have worked) - all the .msi things do this.) then "ols_config.xml", "ols_config_education.xml", "Setup.ini", "lang.dat" a bunch of .mst files, and at the bottom, "Setup.exe"
When I click on Setup.exe, I see a flash of a little loading screen window, then it jumps to the "Do you want to allow this program to make changes to this computer?" or whatever pop up, I click yes, nothing happens. Pretty sure that's the place where something is supposed to happen, because the first response I've gotten from everyone in my family is to "click on the .exe file"
Am I missing stuff? Am I just really stupid and need to do *fill in the blank*? Is it a problem with Wacom? My computer?
Please just tell me how to make it work.
    Thank you in advance.

  • I can not get photoshop elements to load after I install.  I am running a mac with OS 10.10.2. What am I doing wrong?

I have not been able to get elements 13 to open after I have installed it on my MAC.  I click on the tab for photo editor and get a message saying "Photoshop Elements 13 Editor quit unexpectedly" .  I checked the minimum system standards and my system meets or exceeds all of those.

Can you launch directly from Finder? Go to:
Applications >> Adobe Photoshop Elements 13 >> Support Files >> Photoshop Elements 13 Editor
Double click on the Editor app or highlight Photoshop Elements 13 Editor and control-click and choose open.

  • How can I get Photoshop Elements 7 for Mac? (Have a license key for Windows from before)

    Hi,
I have an installation CD for Photoshop Elements that I used on my old PC. I was satisfied and content with that product and as I got a new computer I wanted to use the program there. Here's to my problem:
I don't have a disk drive on the new computer and can therefore not install the program from disk. Second problem is that when I go online to find the program to download instead I realize that there's no version 7 for Mac, only for Windows if I understand it correctly?
I don't feel that I want to buy a new version just to get it working on my computer and I'll use iPhoto if it doesn't work to install. It would however be really nice if I would be able to use it.
    Cheers

There never was a photoshop elements version 7 for mac os, only for windows.

  • Can't get photoshop elements to open

I have used photoshop many times on this computer and have never had a problem until now.  I tried to open it on my computer and I double clicked on the icon as well as went to "start" "programs" to get it to open and it won't do anything.  When I ran the troubleshooter it said that it was an incompatible application.  I have Photoshop Elements 6 and Windows Vista.  As mentioned I have opened this many many times before without problems.
    Can anyone help?

    Hi,
In addition to what suggested above here are some more which you can try:
    Solution 1:
In case any network printer is attached try to launch without network or printer uninstall or make different printer as default.
Solution 2: Try launching with anti-virus off or removing PSE from conflicting list.
    Solution 3:
On the drive on which you have installed PSE,on my machine it is on C:
Go  to C:\Program Files\Adobe\Photoshop Elements  10\Locales\<locale>\Plug-Ins\Import-Exportand you will find twain  plug-in. Remove that plug-in from that location and copy it somewhere  else.
Now launch PSE and check if it works.

  • Can't get Photoshop Elements 8 to Uninstall

I recently bought Photoshop 10 and installed it - and thought like most programs, it would uninstall the old version.  It did not.
So I went to control panel and uninstalled Photoshop Elements 8.  It went through the wizard but it is still there when I bring up the control panel.   When I click on it to uninstall again I get the message This action is only valid for products that are currently installed.
Additionally, all the Elements 8 folders are still present in Windows Explorer.
I did this a week ago and have restarted but no luck.  How do I get 8 off?

I would personally leave it installed but you can do it manually if you wish.

  • How can I get Photoshop Elements to import photos that it wrongly indicates are wrong or in catalog?

Had 17,000 photos on harddrive before installing Photoshop Elements 11 today. Had them well organized in a number of folders under My Pictures. PS found and imported only 467 photos. I tried Search, Browse, and import Files; was able to highlight folders and individual photo files. When I clicked Get Media, it processed for 20 seconds and came back with message that "Files are not in correct format or are already in the catalog." In fact, they are in the correct format (jpg - able to easily view with other programs) and they are NOT visible in the catalog. I went into Control Panel and enabled the Watch service, listed all of the files that PS had not imported from, and still cannot show more than 467 of my photos. Very frustrating, any suggestions? Running Win 7 on 6-months old Sony that plays Blue-Ray, with 8 GB RAM and quad core Intel processors.

This forum is amazing - thanks to all who responded over the weekend. For future users, some replies I found helpful: 1. allow a lot of time for the cataloging process. I had not realized it would be such a slow and incremental process but a day later it is continuing to add to the catalog - am now up to a couple thousand in the catalog, 2. turning off Organize and Stack visually-similar, and the corrective functions during the initial process speeds things up, 3. go into Control Panel, Administrative, Services and activate the Photoshop Elements watch function as soon as you install Elements, 4. it was helpful to repair/optimize, and 5. if you realize it is really messed up, uninstalling Elements and re-installing may work better than lots of little tweaks and fixes. Now if I can just figure out how to get photos ordered by actual date taken rather than random future dates that my camera or previous version of Elements 8 apparently assigned....

  • How can I get Photoshop Elements 13 to start up in Expert Mode?

I just upgraded to Photoshop Elements 13 for Windows (I was using Photoshop Elements 12 for Windows), and I can't get it to start up in Expert mode. When I exit in Expert mode and restart, it starts in Expert mode and then after a few seconds it reverts to Quick mode.
Note that I have tried the recommendation from previous versions of "Reset preferences on next launch" and that didn't help.
I'm running 64-bit Windows 8.1 and Photoshop Elements version 13.0 (20140831.m.62014) x64, and I've set it to start in the image editor, not in the launch window.
    Thanks for your help.

  • Computer Crashed. How can I get Photoshop Elements 11 back?

Hi. I had Photoshop Elements 11 activated and was using it quite a bit. But my computer crashed and I ended up losing everything on my hard drive. I still have both serial numbers from my purchase. I was wondering if I can still somehow download Photoshop Elements 11 and activated it with my serial number. Thanks for you help!

If you registered it with Adobe you can check My Account and get s/n and see if download link exists.  PSE forum is http://forums.adobe.com/community/photoshop_elements

  • Can I get Photoshop Elements 6 Info into PE7?

I've got my videos tagged and captioned in a Photoshop Elements 6 catalog. Can I get that keyword and caption data into Premiere Elements 7? I can definitely get the video clips into PE, but want the other info too for cataloging purposes. Thanks in advance for your help!

Until proven otherwise, my answer to your question is No.
I have Photoshop Elements 6 and Premiere Elements 4 as well as Photoshop Elements 7 and Premiere Elements 7 installed on my Windows XP desktop. If I tag videos in Photoshop Elements 7 and send those video over to Premiere Elements 7, the videos with tags travel great. However, if I tag videos in Photoshop Elements 6 and send those videos over to Premiere Elements 7, the videos travel but without the tags that I placed in Photoshop Elements 6 Organizer.
I believe the issue evolves around a non integrated set as well as the fact that I believe Photoshop Elements 6 probably has a different Organizer format (ODBC database format) than the Organizer in Premiere Elements 7 (SQLite database format). I have not found a way in Premiere Elements 7 (File Menu/Catalog) to workaround this issue. Neither have I found a way to convert the Photoshop Element 6 catalog in Photoshop Elements 6 to make the transfer of tags along with the video. Even if I could, I  would need to think further into the possibility that the converted catalog would no longer be useable in Photoshop Elements 6.
Right now I am pondering two possibilities for you:
    a. Upgrade your Photoshop Elements 6 to Photoshop Elements 7 so that you will have an integrated set (Photoshop Elements 7/Premiere Elements 7)
    and/or
    b. See if you can add and tag your videos to the Premiere Elements 7 Organizer and leave Photoshop Elements 6 catalog for your photos.
I am going to explore possibility "b" to see how that works out. I do not use the Organizer of either Photoshop Elements and Premiere Elements to any great extent, but you question interested me and got me wondering.

  • I can't get premiere elements to install.

It won't work. It says it won't initialize

start at the top and work your way down applying applicable fixes until your problem is resolved.
    if cc (win):  https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/creative-cloud-desktop-application-failed.html
    if, your error is:
"Installer failed to initialize. File not found." or "Installer failed to initialize. This could be due to missing files."
first, rename OOBE Folder to OOBE.old.
    to find OOBE:
64 bit win OS: Program Files x86\Common Files\Adobe\OOBE
32 bit win OS: Program Files \Common Files\Adobe\OOBE
    mac os: HD>library>application support>adobe>caps
    mac os: USER>library>application support>adobe>OOB
if that fails or isn't the exact error you see, uninstall, clean (http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html) and reinstall.
if you're using a dvd to install:
copy the disc contents to a desktop directory and install from that directory.
    if you're using a mac:
    1. Try to Create a new user account in Mac with Administrator Priviledges.
    2. Login to the New user, Navigate to Mac HD> Application> Utilities> Adobe Installer folder, Locate products like Adobe Reader, Adobe Flash, Adobe Air and un-install them
    3. Navigate to User Library> Application Support> Adobe and move Adobe to Trash.
    4. Navigate to Mac HD> Library> Application Support> Adobe and move Adobe to Trash.
    5. Start the installation again.
if everything applicable above fails, check your installation logs:
