Can't get pictures from my Canon 20D

Hi,
I've tried to connect my digital SLR camera (Canon 20D) to the iPad via the USB Camera Connection Kit, but i've got the message "the device you are trying to use is not compatible". Is this true? I mean, cannot transfer pictures from this camera to the iPad? What could be wrong? I can transfer pictures from this camera to my MacBook normally via the USB ports. Thanks for some help in this matter!

Thanks for the tip. I set my communications to ptp on my canon rebel and now everything works fine.

There are third-party iPad apps such as Simple Transfer which can be used to copy photos off your iPad via your wifi network. But as photos are 'optimised' when they are synced to the iPad, any that you then copy back to a computer may not be exactly the same as they originally were on your computer. Do you not have a backup copy (or copies) on external drives ?

Ipod photo-can't get pictures from ipod to pc

I have pictures in my ipod that I transferred with the USB digital camera connection, but I can't get them onto i-tunes/my computer.
I can see them on the ipod, but when I connect to itunes and computer i can't see or access the pictures on either (PC or IPOD).
I tried arranging the settings so it would automatically sync pictures into folders, but it doesn't´t do it.
I don´t know if it has anything to do with the fact that i used to have a regular ipod, and connected the ipod photo to my existing itunes...
Either way PLEASE PLEASE HELP IF YOU HAVE ANY SOLUTIONS.

I'm not really familiar with iTunes for Windows, but on the Mac, iTunes does not fetch photos off the iPod that were imported using the Camera Connector.
Instead, you'll have to enable Disk Mode for the iPod. There's a folder named DCIM on the iPod's hard drive that contains the pictures. You can either copy this folder manually, or use a program that recognizes the DCIM folder and treats the iPod like a digital camera to import the photos.

Thanks I will try this. Can you answer this for me though... I got PS3 media server working no problem, I was able to view my pictures and my music. So I thought I would try the video; as I don't have any on the computer I went into iTunes and downloded a free movie trailer. Now when I tried to view it on my TV it told me my files was corrupt. However when I view it in iTunes there is no problems.
Am I able to rent and buy movies in iTunes and watch them on my TV with these media servers? (sorry I am new to all this)

For Cs 5, please use the latest version of Camera raw. Cannon 5D Mark III is supported on Camera raw 6.7. Update the software or download install the camera raw 6.7 from the Adobe Website.

Go to the App Store and check out the Purchases List. If iPhoto is there then it will be v9.6.1
If it is there, then drag your existing iPhoto app (not the library, just the app) to the trash
Install the App from the App Store.
Sometimes iPhoto is not visible on the Purchases List. it may be hidden. See this article for details on how to unhide it.

One question often asked: Will I lose my Photos if I reinstall?
iPhoto the application and the iPhoto Library are two different parts of the iPhoto programme. So, reinstalling the app should not affect the Library. BUT you should always have a back up before doing this kind of work. Always.

I can't download pictures from my camera ( CANON EOS 1100D) on my Macbook Pro.
I can download pictures on other computers so it's not a cable problem. I can connect memory sticks to the Mac, so it is not a USB port problem.

The prompt won't appear if the photos were originally synced from a computer, if they were taken with the iPhone then there are instructions on this page for how to disable/enable the prompt (the page is specifally about disabling the prompt, but it's the same process to enable it).

This is not necessarily 100% correct at the current time.
As Dropbox is encouraging people to set it up for automatic uploading of photos they gradually increment your space as you load more pictures for free at the current time.
You do start with a fixed 2 GB but if you upload photos you will be awarded more free space.
You can also open a free account with Flickr - you may have some upload limits per day but you can upload pictures there.

Can I move pictures from one month to another?

Hi there,
I am trying to compose a calendar (easier said than done...) and I was wondering: if I have, say, March with certain photos, can I move them to, say, June? For now I am doing it all by hand which is a bit of a nuisance as I have discard what I have already chosen and pick up the "new" photos from a rather long list (thank goodness I have a shorter list of tagged photos).
I don't know why, but it seems that the "compose calendar" option falls short in some basic things which I wouldn't have thought were rocket science...

I don't think what you say works... I can drag a picture from a month to the side bar (where it gets "lost" amidst all the others) and from the side bar to another month, but I don't see how I can move/drag them from one month to another bypassing the side bar altogether.
