Can't get preview images to show up.

My clips are on my timeline and Final Cut knows where these clips are in my Events folder. The audio is still coming through fine, but when I go to playback my video all I see is a black screen.
I'm virtually done with the video and this litterally JUST happened at the end of it. Up until that point I haven't had any problems. Did I press a button or accidently hotkey to force the video not to show up?

First, make sure you didn't accidentally select all and hit "V", which mutes clips.
Open the Timeline Index pane, the Rolls tab, make sure all Roles are enabled.

How can I get my images to show up properly?

I'm a photographer and have just installed my 2009 Aperture2 disc on my new MacBook Pro 2011. The images I've tried to import from folders on my desktop are showing up as blank rectangles. Any ideas as to what might be going on and how to correct it?
By the way, I never had this problem using the same software on my MacBook Pro 2008.

Thanks, Ernie. I'm sure that was the problem. As it turned out, today I returned my new 15" MacBook Pro to get the 17". At that time I downloaded Aperture3 from the App Store and all is working well. And this time I updated all the software on the new computer. Didn't even know that was necessary. Always on a learning curve!

What specific information would you need? The program was working just fine early yesterday morning and than when I came back in the afternoon to edit some more pictures that is when I wasn't able to see the full image anymore. It is providing me with all of the editing options as if the picture is there but it is just a blank screen with the thumbnail pic showing in the right panel.

Can't get a hole to show up in this shape! Advice?

I'm using Illustrator CS5 on Vista 64.
I've been using Illustrator for years, but this one thing always stumps me. I have a shape (the letter R) that I need to put a hole in. It is made of a photo trimmed into a compound shape. In the Pathfinder tool I can't get the Expand option to activate.

I have tried everything I can think of and can't get the hole to show up! I'm sure it must be obvious, but what am I missing?? I've been trying to use the Pathfinder tool; I need to learn to retain this trick. *sheesh*

Hi Sue...not Steve here...
You don't need to lock the image first, but it can aid in not selecting it for a bit.
Lock the image.
Create a rectangle covering the whole image.
Place the shape, or text, for the hole you want onto the image.
If text, make it an outline.
Select both shapes or the rectangle that is over the entire image and the object you want to produce the "hole" in the image with and make a Compound Path (Object > Compound Path > Make or Cmd+8 or Ctrl+8).
Unlock the image and select both the image and the compound path, then make a mask (Object > Clipping Mask > Make or Cmd+7 or Ctrl+7).

Also try turning Off Face Time
Open Face Time
Go to the Preferences
Set it to Off.
Also make sure your router has the Time and Date/Time Zone set as this upsets Face Time which in turn upsets IChat

How can I get my POP account showing in the inbox it's supposed to show in?

Hi-Until a couple of weeks ago all mail received from my IMAP and POP accounts would show up in the correct mailboxes in my Mail inbox list. (Only problem then was that sent mail would never show up in the sent mail folder--always stayed in the inbox.)
Now a new problem has happened----unless I go directly to my charter cable account (P0P account) to retrieve any mail sent to that particular address, the mail goes unnoticed by Mail on my MAC and nothing shows up in the inbox. But--- If I do a test to myself , sending an email to the POP address from my IMAP account from my MAcMAil, my IMAP account will show the email in the inbox of the IMAP account I sent it from as if I'd mailed it to that account. How can I get my POP account showing in the Inbox? And, any suggestions for a fix to getting the "sent" mail to show in the "sent" folder would also be appreciated.

My own laptop is broken. I can use another laptop to access my iTunes account. That laptop already has its own iTunes account, but that doesn't have all my songs on, so I'd like to access my own iTunes library. I can sign in to iTunes on this laptop, I have authorised this laptop for my account, but i still can't get my library to show up on here. I can get my library to show up on my iPad mini, but i can't sync to my daughter's iPod nano as there are enough songs in my library to fill an iPod Classic. I don't think i can sync from an iPad mini anyway? Is there any way that I can either check certain songs on my iPad mini, but not all of them, so that i can sync my daughter's iPod nano on my iPad mini, or that I can get my own library to show up on this laptop rather than the other, pre-existing library?

The Read from Clipboard method is, unfortunately, limited to text. If the clipboard contains an image then you need to use OS-specific functions calls. This is an example program for Windows. It's old, but it should still work.

If you do Cmd+Shift+3 you'll get a full screen image saved to your desktop as a jpg file.
Also, you can use Cmd+Shift+4 and you'll get a cursor which you click+drag to draw a box. When you release the drag the boxed in area will be saved to the Desktop as a jpg file.
