Can't get PSE 12 to Launch

My PSE 12 was uninstalled when a system restore was run. I reinstalled it but the program will NOT launch from the desktop icon. It ran through the install process with no trouble...no error messages and is listed in my downloaded programs.But It will NOT open. How can I get it to work?

There is nothing new or separate to launch. When the QT 7.6.9 Player is keyed with your registration name and number, the player itself becomes the QT v7.6.9 "Pro" player with additional features "unlocked" for your use. For instance, if you have a QT compatible file loaded in your player and can now open the "Properties" window, then you have "Pro" feature access. In a similar manner, "File" menu transcoding and "Edit" menu features are now accessible.

[ I've solve ] Well, I was too upset from the errors of babylon, sometimes it didn't allowed me to browse internet and oftentimes it ruined my new(default) tab opening parameters, so finally after damn research i figured it out how to get rid from these errors.; these files (software /errors) weren't visible anywhere e.g. control panel, system32 etc. i got em from C:\......, then i deleted em and got a complete calm. so here you go and remove both things;

I can't get Iphoto to launch after I tried to move it to a seperate hard drive?

I cannot get Iphoto to launch. I tried to move the program to a seperate hard-drive to save space, and then deleted it from my mac. Now neither program wants to open! I have upgraded and tried to re-install it, but nothing works...

you clone a system to a new and LARGER hard drive, you don't drag application packages.

Can't get itunes to launch

I don't get any error messages, it just won't launch at all. Quick time does launch. I was searching support yesterday and found a link that helped (for the moment), but it's no longer available and didn't help me in the longterm anyway. I can still open itunes when I switch users, but not under my regular username. I think this all began soon after downloading the newest version.

Having the same issue here after rebooting my machine last night. iTunes opens and shows everything in the library but the spinning beach ball just keeps going and going until I have to force quit it.
I have had trouble with iTunes being mind-bendingly slow to sync my iPhone ever since I put in the latest security update a few weeks ago. And I noticed the spinning beach ball would show up every few minutes and any files going to the iphone would stop transferring and then suddenly it would start again. I had also updated to iTunes 8.2 about the same time, I think. So, I don't know if it was the OS update or the iTunes update that messed it up. HOwever, it has always loaded just fine until this morning. I had found if I shut the computer down (MacPro on 10.4.11) and rebooted then my iPhone sync would work normally ONE time so I"ve been rebooting every evening after all my podcasts were in and syncing all at once. But this time it's different. I didn't update anything or make any changes and it won't run.
I"m just beginning to try to run this down so haven't yet tried any of the fixes and will do so. I just wanted to let all know that there are likely many of us out here with problems who don't know about these discussion groups and aren't posting their problems.

I can't get PSE 11 to create correct catalog

If I open PSE 11 & go to catalog Manager it lists avaiable for all users My Catalog & under this it shows My Catalog 2 (current). If I then select either the results are exactly the same NOTHING AT ALL DISPLAYS. I can see on the right hand side of page a list of tags that I had previously used. Clicking on anything at all produces no results whatsoever. I note that the catalog manager doesn't show where these files are on my machine. It even offers to look for others but doesn't give a clue as to where it going to look.
If I open PSE 10 & go to catalog Manager available for all users is My Catalog (2) (current). In this catalog I have all of my pictures & I can call them all up with the various tags that I had created for people,places events ETC.
It appears to me that the conversion from 10 to 11 didn't go correctly. I can't use version 11 as is as its useless. How do I fix this mess? I'm assuming that the start should be pointing version 11 to the same version that 10 is using. How do I get version 11 to find what is called what version 10 is using 'My Catalog (2) (current). I can't even find 'My Catalog (2) (current)' when I ask Windows 7 explorer to find it. Is it in some other folder. Is there something else that I should be considering or is there an easier to get Version 11 to work correctly?

Thanks for the help. I tried the repair on PSE 10 which it said was unnecessary but this didn't result in any changes at all to that catalog.
You did do the repair and optimize anyway and reconvert to PSE 11, correct? Just confirming. You son't see anything change, this just cleans up pointers etc. for the conversion. I do this on principle, it sometimes works magic.
As for catalog 11, I did as you suggested & by changing some of the view settings got some results. These weren't what I expected or needed. As I said under manager catalogs I have 2 different ones listed. I have set view to display everything, at least temporarily so as not to miss anything.
Do you have "media analysis" on in PSE 11(a Preference). If so, why don't you turn it off for now.
The 2 different catalogs show different totals for items in file,10073 & 12032. I only see thumbnails if I click display all media.
Regarding the 2 catalogs, it is probably different conversions of them. Do either agree with PSE 10?
I would suggest renaming the catalog in PSE 10 to a different name. Converting to PSE 11, then deleteing the other catalogs. That way there is no confusion over the catalogs.
If I click places for instance many of the thumbnails are displaying people. This is despite the fact that if I hover the cursor over the icon at bottom right of thumbnail no mention is made of any place. If I go to right hand side of page & just click any tag for any person or place nothing happens. If I click events I see nothing at all. Also some of the pictures are displaying the wrong date under them which makes me thinks that they were found elsewhere & just imported.
I don't use people, places etc. so I am at a loss here. You do use them in PSE 10 correct? I don't think I will be able to help here. It may all work out though.
PSE will not import files unless they are in the catalog originally. Let's not worry about the date issue right now.
When you click the tag you are clicking the ">" arrow. This was a big change from my PSE 8 to PSE 11.
In other words everything in the catalog is nuts. I agree that what's best is to perhaps just delete the 2 catalogs & get version 11 to just create a new catalog from scratch.
The only problem that I foresee is if I tell to 11 to delete the 2 catalogs where do I get the same catalog that 10 is using which it's calling (My catalog (2) (current)?   Since version 10 is using that one.

Can`t get rid of "Launcher" bar on bottom of my home page.

I have Google as my home page. The one with only the search text bar with Firefox logo above it. Nice and clean.
Now I keep getting what is called a 'launcher' toolbar on my Google home page and I would like to get rid of it. I found by right-clicking the page that 'Inspect Element Q' shows the code for this 'toolbar' and from what I gather it is a Firefox feature. I would like to get rid of it. Are there code changes I can make in the Element Q window that will eliminate this 'launcher' toolbar? Thanks!

Hi jscher2000, and Thank You for helping me out. I do not have a Google address as a home page. I just chose the Google main search page as my home page if that makes any sense. The page I chose shows up with the Google search input text bar if you know what I`m talking about, then just a little above that is the Firefox logo. up in the top right corner of the web page is the word 'mozilla' in grey. About the same shade as the grey used for the icons on the 'launcher' bar I would like to get rid of. I am going to try and attach a Wordpad screenshot of my home page.
Also here is the code that makes me believe I can get rid of the tool bar.

Can't get PSE 10 Downloader to Open for ALL CF Cards

I have 4 identical CF cards. Two of them when plugged into the card reader on the computer open PSE downloader just fine. The other two when plugged into the card reader do NOTHING. The downloader does not open. If I place these two cards in my camera or a external card reader then connect thru a USB port the PSE downloader opens just fine.
Can anyone tell me why this is happening and how I can fix it so I am able to plud all the cards into the computer's card reader directly? Is it a problem with the cards, the card reader on the computer or maybe settings?

The only other suggestion is to check your preference settings.
From the organizer menu click:
Edit >> Preferences >> Camera or Card Reader
Highlight the current generic setting and click the edit button.
There are three choices. Try experimenting with each setting.
On the Mac use the Photoshop Elements menu rather than the Edit menu.

If that makes no difference then I suspect the problem could be down to different card/camera manufacturers. Some devices identify themselves as a fixed drive (same as a hard drive) instead of removable media. Adobe Photo Downloader isn't compatible with fixed drives. In that case you will need to copy the files directly to a folder on the hard drive and use:
Choose File >> Get Photos & Videos >> From Files and Folders.

I can't get iphoto to launch anymore. Can't get into iphoto library either

We have iphoto 7.1.5. I can no longer get iphoto to open at all. It immediately tells me there was a problem launching the application. We recently added dropbox and I wonder if that is interfering in some way. In an effort to fix the problem, I disabled the automatic connection between dropbox and my computer (I think.) Also removed Mackeeper as mentioned in other posts. Any suggestions?

Try these in order - from best option on down...
1. Do you have an up-to-date back up? If so, try copy the library6.iphoto file from the back up to the iPhoto Library (Right Click -> Show Package Contents) allowing it to overwrite the damaged file.
2. Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In early versions of Library Manager it's the File -> Rebuild command. In later versions it's under the Library menu.)
This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.
3. If neither of these work then you'll need to create and populate a new library.
To create and populate a new iPhoto 08 library:
Note this will give you a working library with the same Events and pictures as before, however, you will lose your albums, keywords, modified versions, books, calendars etc.
In the iPhoto Preferences -> Events Uncheck the box at 'Imported Items from the Finder'
Move the iPhoto Library to the desktop
Launch iPhoto. It will ask if you wish to create a new Library. Say Yes.
Go into the iPhoto Library (Right Click -> Show Package Contents) on your desktop and find the Originals folder. From the Originals folder drag the individual Event Folders to the iPhoto Window and it will recreate them in the new library.
When you're sure all is well you can delete the iPhoto Library on your desktop.
In the future, in addition to your usual back up routine, you might like to make a copy of the library6.iPhoto file whenever you have made changes to the library as protection against database corruption.

I can't get Xbattery to launch

I have a new 6600mH battery and it only lasts 4:30 without using anything except the finder and Xcharge. I want to investigate the details on this battery, so I got Xbattery because it was the most detailed one I could find to work with 10.2.8. I'm having trouble getting it to work.
I downloaded Xbattery to my G3 Lombard with 512 ram, a 333 processor, a 400 logic board, 4g hd, running 10.2.8. I have run Disk Utility and Disk Warrior. When I launch Xbattery it bounces twice in the dock and then the dock icon disappears and the application does not launch. Kezer said there should be a folder with preferences in my User>Library>Preferences folder, but there isn't one there. Coincidentally, Xine Player for G3 and VLC show the same behavior. Any clues as to what is happening?

Reinsteall Creative Cloud? I can't get it to launch.

I just upgraded to Mavericks and my CC went insane. I uninstalled it assuming I could reinstall it, but it took me a while to even find an installer and the installer quits before I can screen cap it.
When I tried it last night it was just slow, and I finally had to force quit several times and started getting errors that it couldn't start. So I uninstalled it. My applications work fine but how do I synch to Typekit now??? And are the 2014CC apps I'm downloading trials? Or are they legit? I'm downloading them from my "accounts management" page and the offshoots from there.
It's like Adobe knows I'm a member but I can't figure out how to get the cloud back. I NEED my synching with Typekit and I'm freaked out!

How can I get PSE 8 for Mac?

Hello! I have got a version of Photoshop Elements 8 from site Wacom, like buyer of Wacom Bamboo. I installed PSE 8 in my laptop with Windows XP. Then I deactivated that version in the laptop. Now I have a new MacBook Pro, but I can not download the file to the Mac from the site Wacom, they sent me only Win version. I downloaded the 10 version from Adobe.com, but it does not fit my key from 8 . How do I can download the setup file for Photoshop Elements 8 (Mac)?

I can not get Muse to launch, nor can I log in to the CC app...

I have a job interview tomorrow and I need to update my portfolio on my site. When I try to launch Muse, it asks for my log-in information. After entering that information I get an "unexpected error" and the code I-200.
When I try to log in to the CC app...it just keeps putting me into a loop where I enter my info and it tells me I've been signed out!
This has happened before and I am trying to contact support but they are "all busy".
Anyone? Please help?

How can I get PSE 10 to import RAW photos from my Fuji x-m1 camera?

I have Fuji X-M1. PSE 10 will not import RAW files from it. Is there an update or file that I can download so that it will do this

The Fuji X-M1 requires Camera Raw 8.2 or later which is only compatible with Elements 12 or later

Camera Raw 8.2 is not compatible with Elements 10 so you cannot open Raw files from that camera with Elements 10.
You can either upgrade to Elements 12 or download the free Adobe DNG Converter, convert all Fuji X-M1 Raw files to DNGs then edit the DNGs in Elements 10.
