Can't get rid of HTTPS in Web services for Lion

Some setting changed and I can't figure out what. But now my Lion webserver is forcing everything to https.
Previously, as of a few hours ago, I could resolve my hostname.local and get to the same machine from the actual web URL.
But then this https thing happened, and I can no longer resolve the hostname.local from any machine on my internal network or the web url from my internal network. but if I use a machine outside my network I can reach the server using the web url name.com but it gets forced to https.
Any idea how to disable this? Or explanation of what happened?

If you go to the Web panel in the server app, does it list your site there? Is it listed more than once? What ports are each of the sites assigned to?
As of this point, Lion Server has some major issues and you might not be able to resolve this without going into the Apache conf files and reviewing all of those to get it sorted. I am betting that you will want to make sure there is a line telling Apache to listen on port 80 for that site and turn off forwarding to HTTPS.

Can I get rid of parts of the JRE for my app?

I am trying to figure out how to easily deploy a stand-alone desktop Swing application. It's more like Microsoft Word than the typical Swing business app that deals with networks and databases. I'd like to make this easily downloadable by regular people, like a 10-year old who has installed an IM client, or a 70-year old who has downloaded the latest version of a browser, i.e., just download an installation file and then click to install in the relatively standard manner in which Windows apps are installed.
What I am definitely trying to avoid is making the user go to Sun's Java distribution website, which is written by computer geeks for computer geeks. If a potential user sees that, they'll get confused, give-up, and I'll have lost a potential user.. Since a Swing application that is developed and tested using an earlier version of the JRE won't necessarily work with a later version, I can't make the assumption that as long as the latest JRE is installed on the user machine, everything is fine. As far as I can tell, I need to download a self-contained version of the JRE that I developed with in order to guarantee that the app will run as expected. I also don't want the user to have to download a 15 Mb 1.5 JRE, or the purported 50 Mb 1.6 JRE just to be able to run my little program. (I'm really starting to see why there are no popular Java desktop apps.)
So my question is - if I compile my application down into machine code from binary code, does anyone know if can I get away with running it with a stripped-down JRE? I'm wondering if I can get rid of parts of the JRE that deal with things like interpreting bytecode, networking or database access, none of which I need to worry about. Sun's legal department might not like this, but is this at all technically feasible? I'm actually happy to hear about any ideas regarding shrinking the size of the distribution. Thanks.

I voted for the enhancement request. It is almost exactly what I am concerned with.
I am a big fan of Excelsior Jet. I tried out the free version about a year-and-a-half ago, and was pretty happy with it. It was actually the only machine-code compiler I tried out of several that worked. If I ever get to the point where I can start selling my app, I expect that I'll use it. I've been checking the website every so often since then, and reading about the next version, where a JRE can be included in the distribution. That helped spark my original question. While the worry about making sure my application had the right JRE version will be solved, it still bugs me that I have to ship so much unnecessary JRE code. (I blame Sun for that, not Excelsior Jet.) I was wondering if it was at all technically feasible to strip out the unnecessary code, irrespective of the legal issues. When compiled to byte-code, my program is under 1 MB. When I compiled it to machine code under JDK 1.4, it was about 5 MB. I imagine that compiling to machine-code with the included 1.5 JRE, after compression, will result in a size in the 15-20 MB range. And this after refactoring my program to where it's about 1/3 it's original size. I'm really worried about the direction this is going, and I don't even want to think about what including the 1.6 JRE will require.
Where did you read that I've been programming Java since '97. I was a contractor at Sun between 1995 and 1997, and started working on Java 1.0 apps back then, but I don't ever remember mentioning that. If you asked because you're thinking I should know more about JVM/JRE issues, you're probably right, but I focus almost exclusively on higher-level application and GUI/Graphics issues. The deep-down Java stuff makes me break out into a cold-sweat.

I am confused about whether style.css files get affiliated with each separate HTML page or whether there is just one style.css file that is affiliated with all my HTML pages. If they are separate CSS files, how do I separate each style.css file?

Can I get rid of the 10MB download limit for 3G?

Whenever I try to download a file arger than 10 MB on my iPhone3GS, it tells me that Files Larger than 10 MB should be downloded via Wifi. How do I get around this, so that my files will download from my 3G service provider (just like the smaller files do)?

If your network operator doesn't allow > 10MB downloads over the mobile network, there's no way to get around it.

When I open a pdf, then - only recently - there is a subwindow asking me to announce for an extra to the acrobat reader, but I did not intend to subscribe to such a thing. This take place in the main window of the reader, which makes it impossible to see the file in total width and 100%, which is bad for files with small letters

Leliforever, cheek you list of installed add-ons, the Ask toolbar can be installed without the users knowledge.

"Apple users are particularly vulnerable, as their devices do not have a function that lets users delete super cookies from their browsers.
Most websites place what’s called a “cookie” on visitors’ computers, which is used to track them and record their preferences. It’s how websites can remember your password, for example. Like your web browsing history, they’re easy to delete. If you use your browser’s “private browsing” mode they’re never saved in the first place — and advertisers can't track you, and other computer users can't go back and see what you looked at.
However, a flaw in a modern web security feature called “HTTP Strict Transport Security” (HSTS) allows websites to plant “super cookies” that can be used to track web users’ browsing habits even when private browsing is enabled.
Here’s how it works.

Hi all,
I tried this with IOS 7.1.2 Safari on an iPad retina and the super cookie did not persist after web data and history was deleted.
I also tried this with IOS 8.1.2 Safari on an iPhone 6, and the super cookie persisted even after deleting web history and website data.
Evidently it was ok on 7.1.2 and broken on 8.1.2.

Do a malware check with some malware scanning programs.<br />

Have tried to set up my pop3 email on my 6700 slide using the same settings I've always used on previous phones/pc and for some reason emails just won't send. However my main problem is that I keep getting a message flash on screen saying 'Unable to send message:[Email address]. As soon as I clear it, it comes back about 2 seconds later and just won't go away. Stops me doing anything on the phone as I have to keep clearing the message every few seconds. I've gone into drafts/outbox, every folder I can find in 'Messaging' and there's no copy of the email to even delete it. I've even gone to my mail server on the web and the message isn't showing. From the mailbox itself on the phone, I've tried to folders under 'More folders' but there's nothing showing - no sent or drafts folders. How can I stop this error message appearing every 2 seconds?
