Can't get rid of incoming email and outgoing message sounds

I have all of my settings for mail and notifications set to either vibrate only or off, yet I still get a bleep every time a new email comes in, and a little flute-like noise when sending an SMS. How do I get rid of these? They are really annoying!

For new mail I have virbate only; for sent mail I have no sound and no vibration, but I still get a ding when an email comes in.

Although FireWire and USB connections will allow multiple iPod devices to be connected to the computer at the same time, iTunes for Windows works best with only one iPod connected at a time. If you plan to connect multiple iPod devices to the same computer, eject any iPod devices that you are not using from iTunes.

No, but you can use any picture editing tool to crop out the bars. (Many are free in the App Store.) Me personally, I use PhotoPad, which I use to crop as well as rotate the screen shot. Takes less than a minute to do both with PhotoPad.

i got given a new ipod nano (1st generation) to replace my old ipod mini, i installed the new software but got the folder and exclamation mark icon, i removed all itunes and quicktime software just in case it had anything to do with an old version of something and reinstalled the software...still got the icon. then i installed the updater from the website but still can't get rid of the icon...any advice? please help!

Windows users having trouble with their iPods should locate a Mac user. In many cases when an iPod won't show up on a PC that it will show up on the Mac. Then it can be restored. Yes, it's seems like a poor design decision.
By putting the date on the line below the Note title in the Notes Index, the app shows half the number of notes per page AND if you have a large number of notes, it takes twice as long to stroll down.
I doubt the designer actually uses the app.

Now after updating to IOS 8 there is a header and bottom(showing the page). The header is cutting off my words and they are making my songs now appear on 2 pages instead of 1. Is there anyway to get rid of the header and footer so only my lyrics show on the page?

Tap the screen once and the header/footer disappears. Tap again and it reappears.

Mail, I have recently been receiving inappropriate mail which I have put to junk and deleted but they keep on coming sometimes 3 or 4 a day, how can I get rid of these once and for all. I am a lady of advancing years and do not want this.

As well as this I constantly receive mail offering me P**** enlargement drugs. Since I am a lady of advanced years I want neither of theses !!! Can anyone tell me how to get rid of this unwanted stuff. I receive at least 4 of them everyday and am quite frankly fed up putting them into junk and deleting them, but still they keep coming. I was happy with the previous version - can i get rid of the upgrade and go back to "normal" for me - i don't have time to relearn everything. it's annoying.

I don't like many aspects of the updated version I downloaded a few months ago - I haven't even tried a newer version popping up in the corner of my desktop. I would like to get rid of the updated version and go back to the previous one. It suits my simple needs.

If you want to change the layout to be more like Firefox 3.6, you can do so. Firefox 9.0.1 is the current version and Firefox 10 will replace it at the end of January 2012. How can I get rid of the text and only have icons in the bookmarkfield?

Earlier the bookmarkfied only showed icons but after the upgrade they show icons and text. How can I get back to only icons so I can have the good old overwiw back?

Thanks umparrothead. Yeah, I see what you're saying. The copy and paste into the "get info," is buggy, but it does actually work. I have noticed this when trying to change the icon on an .avi file. The copy paste in "get info," initially shows the paste, but it's not reflected immediately in the files icon in the finder window. I have gotten it to show up as the files icon by moving the file to another folder, (in list view), and then... opening then and closing the folder.

This opening and closing does not work in the folder the file is in. It only works after moving it to another folder and then opening and closing?!? I think it has something to do with quickview trying to over-ride our choice of icon for it's own choice, whether it be a poster frame on a movie file, or in this case it's own "bordered" view of the photo inside. I imagine it might also show up after a restart, but that is surely far more extreme than the dreaded move file/open folder/close folder/open folder/move file back, trick. uuugghhh...
This copy paste thing is no solution to be sure. But it does work. I just wish there were some kind of script so I can run it on hundreds of photos at a time...
Any one else out there with any ideas?!?

How can I get rid of Apple Maps and Put the Google Maps back?

I wanted to know how to remove the Apple Maps and reinstall the Google Maps. The Apple Maps is a very inferior programme and not worth the space on the. Computer. It can't find anything. It's a complete waste of time.
So my original question is, how to get rid of it, and put the Google Maps back?

CHances are google maps are never coming back as part of the bundled OS. Apple and Google seem to have parted ways (possibly has something to do with Google having their apps on other devices from other manufacturers but no one knows for sure)
Since preinstalled apps cannot be deleted, the most you can do is ignore the icon, shove it back on a back menu page (I have a 4th menu page on my iPad containing nothing but the bundled apps I consider worthless. I just ignore that page and never go there) and then put a shortcut to google maps on your iPad or find a third party map app you like better.
